I join your ranks of pissed off by these harassers.  780-254-2398 is not the only number they call from.  Sometimes it shows up as a 403 number and sometimes "unavailable".  I have pressed #2 numerous times to be "removed", but they keep calling back anyway.  So I pressed #1 and a girl answered and said "Debt Solutions, how much debt do you have?"  When I said, "well actually I don't have any", she hung up...obvious SCAM.  But what to do about it?

The phone company won't block the number because it changes, and you can't call the number because it doesn't connect.  

The phone company suggested to CALL THE POLICE FOR A HARASSMENT COMPLAINT.  If we ALL do this, maybe someone will shut them down or charge them?

5 days in a row, and 5 days in a row I have reported them with the National Do Not Call list. I will keep reporting them every day that they call until they do something about these losers.

Kevin's link is a good one (a link that allows frustrated recipients of these scam calls to lodge official complaint) vis-a-vis this telephone number.  White collar crime of RCMP (commercial crime) needs to be contacted too.  It's time for the innocent recipients of these scams to take action.  Also beware of call centres from India - or elsewhere - calling trying to access your computer by telling you it's Microsoft calling and they are calling about a virus that has shown up on your computer. They try to entice you to going to your computer and opening it up to allow them access.  From there they can access financial information such as banking information etc. if you keep it on computer.  Most callers speak such poor English you can barely understand them. I told last caller who's English was passable and he could easily understand me, that police had advised it was a scam; that they were after financial/credit card information, that the number would be reported and jail time could ensue for potential fraud. I haven't heard back in weeks but, until then, we were getting about 20 calls a month with the same story.  Unless there is public outrage and publicity about these fraudulent calls, we will all continue to be victimized and the thieves and scammers will get away with their criminal and fraudulent intent.  Why should we stand for this and pay our telephone bills and be continually harassed by telephone sociopaths meaning: those without conscience for the people they are trying to scam?

I am registered on Do Not Call list but still recieve these calls. It's so frustrating.

Check with your telephone service provider for what they offer.  We are with Shaw and as long as it was the last call incoming you can dial *60 then press #01#.  If it is not the last call then you would dial *60 #the phone number#. It is called Selective Call Blocking.

Friday I received a call from 1-780-254-2398 but did not get to the phone in time to answer it, when I listened to the messages it was a partial recording - press "1" now to speak to someone, press "9" to be removed from our list.  I tried calling back but it just went to a message, something like cellular number does not have an account.  So I blocked the phone number so it cannot call again.  Low and beyond Monday I received a call from 1-403-254-2398 and when I called it back the message indicated that the number I dialed was not in service, so I blocked this number too!  Tuesday (today) low and beyond - can you believe it!!! I have the identifcal phone message again - from 1-905-254-2398.  How long till they run out of area codes!  I called the number and received a recording that the number is either been disconnected or is out of service.  Well, another number to add to my blocked number list.  And a warning to those out there that press "9" to be removed from the list if you get the live call, a few years ago this tactic was used to open phone lines for outsiders to use the victim's phone account to make long distance calls and have it added to the victims phone bill.

Where do these guys from? Always to help solve your debt problems and make like they are official. What a scam.

Have gotten calls from this number at least 5 times in the last 4 days!! They didn't leave a message , but this is very annoying. Besides reporting them, how can I block their # from my home phone?? Thanks.

The continue to call me.  Last time I dealt with a similar company, I told them that I had over $30,000.00 in credit card debt.  Asked if they worked with American Express as well as Visa and Mastercard.  I asked them to hold on while I looked for my credit card bill.  Went and cooked dinner.  Came back to the phone a couple of times and told them I was still looking and was very interested because my interest rate was very high.  Told them I was not at my limit yet on any of my cards....if you are, they hang up immediately...learned that!  They need room on your credit card.
Have kept them on the phone for an hour before it came down to them wanting my credit card numbers.  This is the point at which I explain that if they keep me on their list, I will continue to waste their time.  One time, the guy got so angry that he started to call me back and call me names and threaten me.  I called the police at this point....threats are  illegal no matter where you are...this 'company' was in Florida.  They finally stopped until recently.
They have called me twice in the past week and when I said I wanted innformation about their company, they hung up on me.  I will now go back to just keeping them on the phone as long as possible.  As long as they are waiting for me to find my credit card bills, they are not scamming someone else.
I suggest if we all do this, it will really put a damper on their income.
It's kind of fun to see how long you can keep them on the line....I keep a record and when it is time to tell them, I quote my best records.

I had Bell call block but found it did not block calls that came from other phone companies - ie a number using Sprint or Vonage and Rogers service as well as others -only people/companies that called using Bell themselves  outside phone carriers did not work with Bell call block an calls coming from call centers that use modified extenstion numbers that cant be call returned to. This seems the case with larger companies as well that use charity lines with 1 number. My understanding it blocks the line but not the spefic number . Bell told me it didnt matter if I switched to another service this would happen when bell numbers callled the new service they wouldnt be blocked .

Just got another call from this # - did not answer and no message left.  These scammers are more than intrusive and disturbing- who doesn't stop what they're doing and look at the call display when the phone rings? I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my home phone line and using only my cel phone.  Seems these scammers call me more than friends and family!  Why should I pay to have them annoy me??

Same thing keeps happening to me. same number over and over every single day. Report this to CRTC as I did. Do not press number "("9) as they ask you to do to "supposedly be removed you from their list. They also use 905-242-2478 and a series of others. Police will NOT help. Too many scams out there. These particulaur ones are coming offshore from India. They do not respaect the DNC (Do Not Call List)... Bottom line leep reporting. You can however press "1" and comply to extract information to get to the real source and THEN all of us will be able to "Identify" the real source.

Obnoxious scammers looking for victims

Receive calls from this number regularly and after hearing the recording I push the number on the keypad to have my number placed on the do not call list. Today I answered and they claim to be working with the Canadian government to help people who owe $10,000.00 or more on their credit cards-lower their interest rates. She asked me how much I owe and I said that's none of your business and I would like to file a complaint as I have requested several times to have my number placed on the do not call list and you continue to bother me. Lo and behold she hung up on me.I tried calling the number back and got a recording that this number is not in service. Called Bell and they told me this number is not registered and that it is set up for outgoing calls only. Bell suggested that I contact my local police department and file a complaint and they would make the calls stop.
