Just got a call from them too. The guy on the other end could barely speak English and was saying something about a visa card. Stupid call had to get me out of bed ;(

Just received a call from these guys too.  I didn't say "hello" since the number was unknown to me and waited for a response.  I could hear a male voice talking in the background as well as other unintelligible chatter.  Since I didn't receive any response, I simply hung up.  End of story!

Got two calls in one day from this number. I never answered. Don't know anyone from the 905 exchange.

dont answer the phone!  I talked to the guy, figured it was some credit card scam, which it was, he wanted me to verify my name, my bank, my credit card.  obviously i'm not stupid so i just made up some stuff that wasnt real, but after i didnt feel like talking anymore and hung up, they must have thought they had a good chance of convincing me to give them my real info, because they called back 20 times in the next 10 minutes.  finally i talked to him again, but he eventually figured out i was just leading him on and he hung up on me.  first call received 9:13 pm, last call received 9:23 pm

got a call an hour ago. missed it. looked in directory - said the number is unpublished and located in st. catharine, on. they did not leave a message. what the bustards!just look up at the number sequence: (905) 3456789!!!!!

Haha I just got a call from this scam at work, dude sounded like he was hanging out in some call center middle of India.  He claimed I was an excellent customer who always paid my bank card on time.  Last time i checked, I've never paid on my bank card...RED FLAG!!! number 3 haha, i gave him a bunch of bogus information then hung up...he called me all angry, trying to get more information, i told him it was a scam and not to call back, he called back again, persistant little buggar, he said i'd deeply dissapointed him and i wasn't going to be able to collect my prize hahahahahahahaha...peace out fraud bot

I too got the same type of call and it seems they are on the move, because they called me from 403-648-9228. I have left e-mail to phone busters and I hope they bust these scumbags. Tel everyone you know to please be ALERT on the phones and watch out. We don't need them to ruin our holiday season!

Had a call on December 15 2009 at 7.09 p.m Indian voice ask for person using my last name only. I ask what person do you want to speak to with this last name, and who are you? he mumbled something about visa, master card ect.... I could not comprehend  and said I was on the do not call list, and the jest of it all is I don't have any credit cards. I think they have about a 100 or more of these scammers going through the telephone books each one given an alphabet number to work with to ply their illegal trade and get bonus points when they scam the cardholder. The people should be informed about these type of scams especially the Senior CANADIAN Citizens who are more vunerable, especially when these a***ole are so adamant. The government, Bell canada, rogers ect... should purchase with our taxpayers money part of the front page of the newspaper to let the PEOPLE be aware. Why Do We have to pay extra to have our phone number unlisted? "WHEN WILL CANADA START PROTECTING IT'S FAMILY OF TAXPAYERS" This is getting worse and worse and who knows what other parties are involved within it?

Received Call from 905-345-6789 shows up on my call display as V12150949180037 as soon as I answered the call I said hello twice and no one answered.

keep getting calls from 905-345-6789 and 000-000-0000. I'm on a national do not call list!!! Although I've tried to report these numbers...they don't want to do anything about it.  What was the point in signing up on this national list.

getting sick of these phone numbers, i don't even bother answering long distance calls anymore , so who ever you are give it up . because everyone is catching on . get a job loser!!

The call I just received said they were Visa AND Mastercard and wanted to know if I wanted to lower my interest rates. I asked the name of the compnay and was told "Liberty...(something I couldn't make out)". I informed them I was on the "Do not call list" and insisted they remove my name from the list. Don't know if it will do any good.

Same number just called me.  I answered with a business name and they hung up.

Just got a call with call display 1-905-347-6789. They hung up as soon as I answered.After reading what all of you have reported here! I think the RCMP should be notified. I will pursue this!

Call came in at 12:15 with Call Display showing 905-345-6789. When I answered, there was silence followed by an automated voice saying "Goodbye".

No they are not only looking for Indian names as I was just called by someone "from Visa" wanting me to lower my rates.

Spoke to a gentleman with a heavy accent.  He was calling from Mastercard and Visa.  Hmmm, odd that they would join forces to annoy me.  He did seem to know my name, sort of.  I asked him where he got my number and he talked right through my inquiry.  I repeated loudly until I got a response which was unintelligible.  I then instructed him to never call back.  He again said something unintelligible and hung up.
I will now program my voip phone to call forward future calls from this number to the chairman of the CRTC. Number is available on the CRTC website.
In retrospect I should have told him he was calling at a bad time and asked him to call back. (After I setup the call forward)

These people call repeatedly.........day after day after day and usually I do not answer.  However, they have also been calling my 85 year old Mother, who does not hear very well and although she did not give them any details, called me worrying that something was wrong with her credit card.  I emphasized to her that this is a scam and that she shouldn't give out any information and either just don't answer or answer and hang up immediately. We are both on the do not call listing here in Canada, but these calls obviously do not originate here.

When they called today, I decided to speak to them regarding their calls to her and when I asked them to desist, they just hung up.

I've been receiving these calls for about 2 months. I had won a trip for 4 to Orlando and a cruise in the Bahamas. I've told them I wasn't interested and they have kept calling. Is there anywhere to report this?

Just got the call.  Dame deal saying they're from Visa but now they say they can reduse your interest from the 18% you're now paying to 6%... Guy didn't sound anything like a call center agent, I actualy had to ask him what company he was with and all this stuff.  Anyway I hung up within minutes.

Recieved call from 'VISA' claiming they were giving us a free trip to Florida since we were such good customers. Said we weren't interested and the woman with a thick east Indian accent said the trip could be sold for $3000.00. Once again we said we weren't interested and hung up. No further calls recieved. Since we don't have call dispaly I can not confirm the number, but my husband indicated there was alot of clicking etc prior to the person speaking.

Just got a call.. as soon as i saw a number that is 3456789??, I figured it was telemarketing. Funny thing though, I decided to pick it up and answer. As soon as I spoke the caller hung up... I could hear hopusehold noise in the background and it took a moment for them to start to say anything after my Hello.. I asked again can I help you? just partial beginning of words then silence, household noises in the background and they hung up. I'm on the do not call list so it's rare that I would get a marketing call, so this can't be telemarketing and is a scam
