Just got a call from this number 905-408-9898 from a recording with an apparent british man saying "Congratulations, our records indicate that your phone number is the winner of $3600 in travel money, press 1 to collect your prize now". I proceeded to hang up. I'm just going to say "scam much?"

I recieved a call from 905-408-9898, when I answered, there was just dry air.

Just got a missed call from them. Glad I missed it.

Received a call on my office phone at 6:56PM, which I missed. When I called the number back the phone company recording advised that the number is not in service.

I missed the call yesterday.  Thank you for all of you who posted the message so I don't have to worry if I missed any important phone call.   I recently gave out my cell phone for job purposes.

I thought it might be a collection agency.

It played a "The number you dialed is not in service message" twice, but very briefly right before it disconnected, there was a "I'm sorry the person.." clip that was cut off.  I can only assume that it would have ended in "at this extension is not available."

Part of my profession gives me access to an autodialer, and I rang it back at least 50 times in the next 15 minutes, all with the same result.

Whoever is making the calls has the ability to mask their CID.  It's likely a collector of some sort.  Anyways, just thought I'd post alongside everyone else.

I got a call from the same number and missed it. When I called back, it says, the no. is not in use. does anybody knows who is it and why are they doing so?

Got message on my cell at work. I never call anything obscrure back. Good to know just scammers.

All my phone numbers are on the national do not call list and these guys called me. Don't know who they are, or what their angle is, just know they called.  They told me my number won $2500 in travel dollars and to press 1 to claim my prize.  I just waited and the system hung up within 20 seconds.  Smells like a scam or just an incentive to buy something from some company.  Still, I'm on the do not call list and I did report the number to the CRTC.  Since signing up on the DNC list I only get about 4 or 5 unsolicited calls a year. I report every single unsolicited call I get.
