I just received a call from 905 448-5954 at 9:35p.m. on July 1 after talking my kids into bed, now they are awake, no answer when I said hello 3 times, I called the # back to hear a recording saying it is a consumer survey line and if i want my # deleted from their call list permanently hit 1 (I did) then it says type in your 10 digit phone # (I did) then it says to say your # to confirm (I did) hopefully thats the end of that, how annoying.  I hope this helps anyone else who gets this same call.

I've gotten a number of calls from this number.  The caller ID lists it as "unknown name."  There is never anyone on the other end.

Its House Capades or some one of those housing companies. It's a recorded message so it takes a while to start. If you stay on the line long enough you'll hear it...but Its not worth it so I don't encourage it!

I actually found the caller, they're a data miner that will telemarket for various agencies.   It's very difficult to track the company, hence the wide variety of different responses from the above callers.   The real company is below:

 www.internetworkmedia.com

Not sure if this is a scam, but they telemarket for anyone and depending on the client could be misleading.  You're likely better to not answer or just hangup.

This number is from a service that is a "number miner". They want to see what numbers are answered regulary. Then they sell your number to other telemarketers. They don't care to actually sell you anything, they just want real numbers that get answered. The solution? Either change your number (impractical to most) or don't answer any number you don't know-especially 800, 877, 888, 866, or 777 numbers. If they only get your voicemail, you're not worth anything to them and your number won't be sold. But once you've made them aware that you like to answer strange "unknown" phone numbers you'll be on every fly-by-night scam companie's phone list on the planet. Remember the "Do not call list" is only applicable in the US where even then it's weakly enforced. Say hello to the rude Indian guy who can't pronounce your name.

Thank you to the person that gave the phone number (416-840-6938) to get your number added to the do not call list.  It was easy - their machine wasn't polite - but it was easy.

After today, I have decided to officially butt out the telemarketers from ring bling on my secondary-residence telephone line.

Homeboy Shakespearean definition: r?ng bl'?ng. To ring or not to ring. That is not the question. It is the answer. Of the phone. Those that r?ng bl'?ng thy phone are searching for tengo denero. See also tel'e·mar'ket·ers.

After the difficult month I had in the markets thanks to Bush's Commodity Futures Modernization Act pummeling equities, I think I will call the telemarketers and ask them for money for a change. lol But I digress.

Many on these forums have suggested the following service from Ma Bell (see link below). Since telemarketers seem to primarily be the callers on this line, I think this is a good fit for me and may be for others perusing these boards.

And since this feature will likely weed out the telemarketers, this will likely be my last contribution on these boards. Hey. Knowledge is power, just trying to help others out with a handful of contributions.

And cheer up Mike Bullard. It was just a joke. Joke. You are a stand-up comic. Get it? Okay, not funny.

David Letterman may be the king of stand-up comics in my opinion, but you also served Canada well when you did Open Mike. Now, stop spamming people with your House Capades jingle.

Take care all, this from an absent-minded, tired Canadian that really needs to get some sleep. In posting the following link, my job is done. And no, I don't work for Bell Canada. :)

Avatar. It's perfectly legal to call on a Saturday; and, in some cases, even if your number has been registered on a Do Not Call List. The same applies on Sunday for that matter, as long as it is within permissible hours. Businesses with which you have an existing relationship and non-profits, as an example of DNC exempt. Call Bell - or your provider - to review your options.

I am on a DNC list with the Canadian Marketing Association, but I find this registry is about as effective as attaching gym sneakers to the rear-view mirror as an air refresher.

I heard the commercial on the radio for Mike Bullard's show some months ago. FYI, Mike. This house is not for sale, but was wondering, is David Letterman available for a tour?

In my college years I was a big fan of Dave.

They just called and I come to check the number out. I didn't answer and was routed to the voicemail. No message left. It's telemarketing (wondering if it's legal to call on Saturday) I guess. Sometimes they don't say anything because it's a machine dailing to see when people will be at home. Then a real person will call next time.

It's HOUSE CAPADES, you know that annoying commercial on Fox in Toronto... hosted by Mike Bullard.
It is a recording, and if you wait long enough... it starts.
They want to sell your house and guarantee to buy it if it doesn't sell in 30 days.  It's a total scam, but then again Mike Bullard has never been funny so what else can he do.
You can remove your number by dialing 416-840-6938.
You'll never get a live person, I guess they don't like to be disturbed, but can follow promps to remove your number.
Rule of thumb... any company into mass advertising ain't kosher!
