Got 2 calls from Amex. 1 was about 10 days ago for an application which I had then said I did not want to continue with. They took note and said they wont call again.

Got another call now again...didn't answer, but likely for the same thing.

They call me one more time...and that's it!

This must be Amex. Their main # is 905-474-9380, & I called with an inquiry about online statements ealier today.  Customer service was not helpful.  A few hours later I received calls from this # on both my office & cell phone, within 1 minute of each call, though I had called from my office.  They have my cell # as well; so it must be Amex; yet they left no message, so it must be a tele-marketing call.

so if they have asked about banking information, anybody submit that consent form, sent by AMEX, what happened after, did they approved you for American Express Card or not, or any other....because the same happened with me after applied for a card...it look fishy, to ask for Bank Details....pls update

unwanted call  no one on line when answered

This appears to be AMEX.  When I applied for a card they had to ask some security questions and this is the number that appeared on my caller id. After I answered the questions and got approved, I started getting calls (from AMEX) from a different number 18887502639. Nightmare.

Is this number American Express....the # showed as Unknown Name.....why would American Express have so much of my personal information about work/jobs.....bank address and line of credit  when I never gave it to them...? This is crazy, when there are so many scams around....and then they ask me for a personal cheque for $1....damn, if this is American Express, I feel like telling them to act business-like or go to thy kingdom come!!!

This number keeps calling and no one is on the other end. they just hang up.

American Express.  Why it hangs up I have no idea, as they acctually had a legit reason to contact me.  Let them leave a message, then call them back at 1800 #.

I just recieved a call form the same ph # as everyone saud and asked few personnel questions....shouldn't they have Amex ID for the Agent?  I thnk they need to identify them selves with AMEX AGNET ID and office location.  I did end up answering to their questions and I though let me google this #....and here I am.....well, Hope this American Express #....

received a call from the number, rang twice and hung up without me answering. then a few seconds later called again, i answered and they hung up.

I received a called from this # today. It was AMEX. I had applied for a credit card. The first time they called I answered and they hung up, but called back a few hours later and left a message on the answering machine.

I missed a couple of calls from American Express.

Yes, it is American Express.

does sound suspicious, other credit companies dont do that and dont ask for cheques to verify your bank account.

This number is from American Express. They left a message once, and now just call non-stop but won't leave messages.

So you gave them all information they asked? I mean branch # and account#?
what happened after?
I received a call from them as well with request to send them a check for 1 dollar "to insure my bank account information". But I never sent it. It looks suspicious.

I got the same message as well. Did it go through?

They said they were American express and asked for my bank transit number or account number info, address, and birth date. I applied for a card online a while ago and they said they were processing the application and ensuring that it's not a fraudulent case. Also they verified the address of my bank branch and said they would contact the bank to verify the validity of the information I provided.

Called my Cell then my home number, but I didn't know number so let it go to voice mail and no message was left

Were they calling to tell you that you were accepted or something?
They've called me three times today, no voice msgs... i do not pick up unknown numbers so.. not sure why they dont leave a msg
