they have been calling me in september.  I don't know why, my cellphone acct is up to date, but I did find this tidbit of information:

I can't view the video, but it's from cbc, the national news.  Apparently roger's collection agency has been targeting ppl that don't even have a cellphone account.  I have dealt with roger's collection agency in the past.  They are very rude and aggressive, back then anyway.  I dealt with 2 reps, my account was a month behind.  I made arrangements with agent 1, with the assurance that my phone wouldn't be shut off.  I made the payment as per the arrangment but the cellphone was shut off.  I called the company and tried polietly to explain to agent2 that i had an arrangment in place and to please reconnect me.  He was aggressive and rude, kept saying I was being rude and kept putting me "on hold". I couldn't get a word in edgewise.  I called back roger's regular customer service line and had a complaint put on my file.  My account has been straightened out since, but I honestly hate rogers. I've gotten nothing but misinformation on that account, they play with my contract ending dates when I'm told my changes to the account wouldn't affect it. I've recieved multiple credits due to their errors and would like nothing better than to pay off the phone (they don't use contracts anymore, it's tied to the cost of the phone), and be done with them.

the do not call list registry does not apply to just anyone you don't wish to talk to.  companies that are exempt from this practice are govt, non-profit agencies and anyone you have a business relationship with.  So if you owe them money or they believe that you do they are allowed to call.  It also doesn't stop calls immediately for the numbers that aren't exempt as they have a certain amount of time to update their records and remove your number

Yeah, I've dealt with that scumbag Jeff Singh, he's a mouthpiece over the phone and doesn't understand when it's time to stop. I can't wait till he calls back since he's tried calling others about me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he does it one more time, we'll see how smug he is when complaints get passed to the authorities.

keep getting calls from this number asking for Tammy Dolan.  Extremely ANNOYING and I called this number back, demanded an apology and had to tell the fellow what to say.  How pathetic is THAT?  Got my apology and he knew in no uncertain terms he kicked the wrong stink nest!!!
Claimed that this so called Tammy Dolan had given ,my telephone number to them on legal papers.  Oh ya!  Like that one is believable.

Called these guys back and gave them a taste of their own medicine. I was speaking with Shiane who then passed me on to his manager Jeff Singh. This Jeff guy has hung up on me 12 times today ( I am persistent) because he wont tell me what they do.
If you want to get give them a taste of their own medicine, harass them the way they are doing it to you (by calling over and over) they wont even answer my calls any more.

I receive this number 905 480 1354 few times a day to. When I pick up the phone and the machine will speak and ask you to hear the message. Is there anything I can block this number or report the complain to CRCT. I have resgistered Don't Call List.

I tried your method but no one picks up so that i can complain to them.... did they pick up when you called and which number exactly did you use?

I also got a few calls from this number with an automated message etc. I called and realized they are a collection agency - but I don't owe anyone, I mean ANYONE, any money! I have no credit cards. My bills are paid!!!  I did NOT give out any information but told the woman those facts and that if they called again, I would report them.  Isn't phone harrasement of any kind is against the law? They want personal information.  I repeat, I do not have any outstanding debts and to be harrassed for nothing should be against the law.

I received 4 calls in a 2 hour period of time, one being after I informed them I am not the person they were looking for.

Their excuse when I used a friend's line to say I had notified them via text to landline was they do not receive these types of calls and I refused to pay to talk to an unknown caller on my new cell. No messages left gave any options of contacting via computer or that they didn't receive these types of messages. At no time did they identify themselves until I called them.

PLEASE NOTE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE TO THEM BESIDES THE NUMBER THEY ARE CALLING.

ASK THEM WHO THEY ARE LOOKING FOR, IF IT IS NOT YOU, SIMPLY STATE THIS AND INSIST THEY DISCONTINUE THE CALLS.

EVEN IF YOU KNOW OR ARE RELATED TO THE PERSON THEY ARE LOOKING FOR, YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.

I have now written to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs Ontario to complain formally regarding the level of harassment, the ability of them not to receive text to landline messages as a form of contact reply, the fact they never identify themselves at any time during any message and the rude treatment given when I did speak with someone directly.

A collection agency just send you written notice of the following:
? The name of the creditor
? The balance owing
? The name of the agency and its authority to demand payment, and wait until the sixth day after mailing before contacting you.
Must mail a second copy of the written notice to an address provided by you if you did not receive the first notice
Cannot contact you if you send a registered letter to the agency saying that you dispute the debt and suggest the matter be taken to court.
Cannot contact you if you or your lawyer notify the agency by registered mail to communicate only with your lawyer, and you provide the lawyer?s name, address and telephone number.
Cannot contact you on Sunday, except between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and not on a holiday.
Cannot contact you more than three times in a seven-day period without your consent, once the agency has actually spoken with you.
Cannot use threatening, profane, intimidating or coercive language, or use undue, excessive or unreasonable pressure.
Cannot continue to contact you if you have told them that you are not the person they are
looking for unless they take reasonable precautions to ensure you are that person.

I just made a complaint to the CRTC, hopefully action will be taken. This is what I sent:

This phone no. has been calling me for a few weeks now filling up my answering machine. Today they called 3 times this morning, and so on the 3rd call I decided to answer (12:01pm). It was a recorded message stating to press any key to speak to a live agent (something to do with collections). So I did. A woman answered the phone and confirmed my name. She asked for my postal code and date of birth. I stated I would give her my postal code, but not my date of birth. She said okay. When I gave her my postal code she said that is not what they have on file for me. Then she asked me if February 15th was my birthday and I said no I think you have the wrong person. I also told her if this was regarding collections I have no idea why they are calling me as I am always paying my bills. She said a lot of people don't realize they are in collection until they call them. Anyway, I hope that they will not be calling back anymore, but I'm not convinced. If this is some kind of scam, I want to report this so others don't give away their personal information. I did do a "Google" search of this phone no. to see if others were having the same issue, and there were quite a few people with complaints about the recorded message and then becoming long distance (I won't know until I get my phone bill). Another person stated it was some kind of scam. Anyway, I will leave it in your hands and hope if it is not something legit, that it will be investigated and appropriate action taken.

yup several calls/day, from several different numbers.. all this global co.they r clients of the thieving crooks over at rogers, so even tho I paid off my bill completly, rogers thinks thy can extort more $ off me after I had cancelled services with them.

I've just called back this number. I reached a fairly understanding person. I gave him the phone number (the only thing they would have of mine) but I did not give him any other information. He said "We're looking to speak with ___ ____ " but that name was no where near mine, so I explained that that was not me and I did not know that person. He then said he would remove my phone number from their database. I hope it works. If I remember to come back after a week or so, I'll let you guys know if the phone calls stopped.

God a call from the same number (905-480-1354), really annoying, long distance computer call

used to have a Fido cell. moved to an area Fido has no local or even distant coverage. They sent me final bill, which was paid but now getting hounded to pay for cancellation of contract. Why doesn't Fido or Rogers have the balls to call themselves.

Same here .... it's been more than a week where I've been recieving at least 5 phone calls a day from this numbers 9054801354, 9054801342, 9059483203, 9054801364... I talked to rogers and apperantly it is a SCAM.. so just don't answer ...

ya, its Global Credit & Collections, they do collection for Rogers and various others ie. Capital 1....they dont listen to you when you tell them it's the wrong #...you have to call back demand a supervior and complain like crazy to get them to remove your numer....i used to work there!

Twice this week someone called looking for a Mr. Rodriguez. Last week I told them there was no one here by that name (Vancouver) and they said OK, and hung up. Now they used a computer to call ("if you are that person, press any key for an important message") and put me on hold, long distance. Forget it.

I have left a message, thanks for the link to the website. These guys are infuriating. They have been calling me 5 to 6 times a day, in the morning on weekends, while I'm in business meetings, while I'm driving.

global credit about past cell phone unpaid bills. just block them off.. dont even pick up... they probably got you number from rogers, they are the same company.... **s-holes

I received several calls for somebody else from this number.  
When I called back, I found out that it was a collection agency called Global Credit & Collection.  
I found there website ( http://www.globalcollection.net/Consumers.aspx ) and contacted their main number.
They told me that they would remove my phone number from their files, and they did.

I received about 6-10 calls a day from this number.  No message left.  just keep on calling every hours

I received  several  of these. Last week I decided  to press the key pad  and find out more  about a " financial matter"  and  a real person answered looking for someone with similar name,  or close to the name. I did not  respond to any questions. I have called the Peel Police Fraud Squad  and I will be calling Bell Canada today. Peel Fraud  have not even answered my call.
The Do Not Call List obviously is not working.  Maybe we  should  make our voices heard. to Ottawa.
