You keep calling for someone that has passed away now for over 3 years.  When are you expecting the call back?
Keep wasting your time and money.  Not bothering me one bit.  I laugh at you all. Hahaha!!

These people come into your house through the phone line.  Get even.  Go to your local Dollar Store, to the party supply section  and get a $2.00 AIR HORN.  Let them know what it feels like to be annoyed.  Take that Habib or Mohammed or Mukerji.  After a few days, the calls drop off.

I kept getting these calls, answered one and let them know politely that i was not the person they were looking for (im not) and that i do not know anyone by that name (I dont)

the person on the other line, apologized and thanked me for being polite and was told that i will be removed from the list.

sometimes it pays to remain nice.

We had this company call today for one person that isn't at this address and one that is. The lady that called was very polite and well spoken. Now, I've had this number call our number in the past and have had rude people talk to us but we can't say they're all bad. Yes, they're doing their jobs. Yes, some of them can be aggressive and/or harassing but as much as we don't like it, it is their job and believe it or not, it's not their idea to be that way, it's their higher ups in that company that gives them the "ok" to do that. I'm not saying it's right but keeping logs of how many times they've called you and/or save the messages/record calls to prove harassment should help this type of company to "knock it off" as it were.
Some of us fall into that pit of "can't pay right now" so we know somewhere along the line it'll come back on us. Generally if you work with the original company to whom you owe money to, they'll probably suggest some type of payment aggreement or deferred payments to when you can start paying. This doesn't always work but it couldn't hurt to find out instead of fretting over a bill that is growing with interest.

This is a call from D & A Collections, on behalf of someone or some insurance company. A woman left a message but does not clearly identify herself by name. She asks for someone who is not connected with my phone number and whom I do not know. She explains that it is a very important business matter and insists that someone call her back at a 1-888 number (and a four digit extension) by 4 PM on the day that the call was made. The caller insists that the call is urgent but does not give any details.

Since I am not the person to whom the call is for and I do not know the person that she wants to get in touch with, I will not return the call. Be warned that they have and will call back.

To everyone out there be careful not to give out any personal information to anyone not absolutely known to you.

They harass and harass even AFTER you've made payments arrangements! Ask for a manager and you will just get another brainless person with no common sense whatsoever. You're lucky if you can even understand the people who do phone, and they whine and complain like 2yo's on the phone, then call YOU "rude" when they are wasting your time, energy and patience by phoning WAY BEFORE they're supposed to, and keep unnecessarily harassing you for "extra" money and closer pay dates. Yeah, doesn't everyone come into "extra" money 2 weeks before Christmas?? See what I mean about zero common sense? What kind of company doesn't even respect the arrangements THEY made with someone? They are breaching their own agreement. Ugh. There's no point in even talking to anyone from this number as we've spoken to a BUNCH of them and they really are all the same, THUGS.

Yet another scumbag collector that thinks they own the world and are entitled to bs you around...   Don't fall for it and simply ignore or block all future calls from these idiots.  They will give up and move on to other phishies that are stupid enough to answer their phones.   If you really want to lose these potatoheads... just get a new phone number.  They are too lazy to hunt yur new number down...   Time is money and they won't waste their time and money where they have no chance in he** of collecting money ;)

The best advice is to simply ignore them and their automated 'robo' collection calls.   Eventually even their robo caller will reach its limits and move on to other numbers to phone and harass.

Biggest mistake is to ever give them human contact :  ie answer your phone or return their phone call.   That will prove to them that there is a human there and they will be relentless in harassing you... hoping to wear you down.   But if they have failed to reach a human, they move on to their next victim.

So... let it ring or simply block it.. or change your phone number.  Nothing puts nothing in to their pocket like an unreachable deadbeat.  They will move on to where they 'think' their harassment techniques will generate some money in their pockets.

I laugh at their robo-calls, which are BLOCKED by my phone blocker...

I would rather spend my money on beer, cigarettes and Starbucks coffee ;)

I get them calling all the time , I have no unpaid bills , I have never had a credit card and I am not the one they are looking for and after  numerous calls from me , the local police and my MPP and they still call after being told they have the wrong person and they are breaking the law they still continue to harass me 2x a week . I am not daft but do not put these people above the law . As for a paid job ? They can not be too bright after being told this 9x . Are they paid to harass people that have nothing wrong. This seems to happen a lot with this company which by law are supposed to identify themselves and asking people for sin numbers is against federal law except for banks,Canada revenue  not even the police are allowed to know that cause the number is worth a few grand on the black market id .       Thanks for reading and to the rest as he said pay your bills

They keep phoning my recently acquired cell phone.  I pay as I go... which means I would have to pay to answer their stupid phone calls.   Unfortunately I cannot block their lame attempts of hiding behind a 'private' number display... so I just won't answer them....
a ) for hiding their identity and phone number... and
b ) cuz I am not going to spend one penny of my telephone billing time responding to morons who don't understand that the person they want is NOT AT THIS NEWLY RE-ISSUED phone number.  I may have to go back to rogers and get them to give me a new phone number...  jeez

Just received a call didn't pick up since no Voicemail left I called the number on screen. Switch board secretary asked for my phone number and told me that it a collection agency and rep Abhi caled so he can give me info. He picked up right away asked for my number and said if he could speak to Peter Hull. I told him to not call again. Abhi is actually an east Indian name, he had a slightly thick accent. Past 2 calls I received in a span of months was from TD bank and some car dealership Milton, Bedlington...I forget where.

these people recently called my grandfather's house looking for me and had the BALLS to tell him it was a LEGAL MATTER. my grandfather is retired and have no business with these people. how did they even find out his home phone number? it's ridiculous how they can just tell an old man someone else's business and say they're taking it into a legal matter.

The first step a collection agency must take is to send you a written notice through the mail (email doesn?t count). This notice must include:
?the name of the creditor (the person or business that says you owe them money)
?the amount the creditor says you owe
?the name of the collection agency and its authority to demand payment on behalf of the creditor.

After sending the notice, the agency must wait six days before it can contact you in person or by phone
The agency has to observe a number of restrictions about how often their agents can contact you and how they communicate with you. For example, after their first conversation with you, the agents cannot contact you more than three times in a seven-day period without your consent, except by regular mail. ?Contact? means the agents must actually speak with you, email you or leave you a voice mail. If you don?t answer the phone and the agents don?t leave a message, it doesn?t count as a contact. SO answer the phone and acknowledge the phone call as phone call number 1.,2 etc

In addition, the agency cannot:
?contact you on Sunday, except between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
?contact you on any other day of the week between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
?contact you on a statutory holiday
?use threatening, profane, intimidating or coercive language, or
?use undue, excessive or unreasonable pressure
In general, a collection agency can contact your employer once to obtain your employment information. Otherwise, they cannot contact your employer unless:
?your employer has guaranteed the debt
?the call is in respect of a court order or wage assignment given to a credit union
?you have provided written authorization to contact your employer.

A collection agency cannot contact your spouse, a member of your family or household, or a relative, neighbour or acquaintance except to obtain your address and telephone number, unless:
?the person contacted has guaranteed the debt
?you have given permission for the person to be contacted.

In addition, a collection agency cannot:
?give false or misleading information to any person
?recommend to a creditor that a legal action be commenced against you without first sending you notice.
