Just recieved a phone bill from bell canada It has charges on it for 10 DIR_ASSISTANCE calls 3.99 each to 10 different numbers in the US. None of which are familiar too me. All calls were billed Dec 22 from  07:09 AM to 07:50 AM.Bell does the collecting for Triton Global Dir-Assist??
I have not made any of these calls !!!
Talked to Bell REP who says her hands are tied. Also I must have made the calls since they were all verified By Triton. Talked again with a Bell Supervisor this morning and he reversed the charges back to Triton.
I went online to check into Triton and looked up justanswers.com a group of Lawyers who give advise on Canadian Law and go by the name Copperlaw and here I will paste in their reply.

Copperlaw says:

Triton is a scam phone company that operates out of Calgary Alberta. They buy up toll free numbers, often similar to real corporate numbers (such as 1-800 as opposed to 1-888) and then leave a recording there directing you to call their new number, which generally carries a charge between $2 and $7.
They really offer no service, merely trick people into paying their fees, which are often not disputed over a single $4 charge. Your case is different
Fastrack Global is another similar company but is a shell company name for Triton Global Communications. Triton is apparently run by a guy named Guy Fietz in Calgary, Alberta. You can reach him at 403-257-7090, go to the directory, dial 343 to reach him.
If you Google Triton or Fastrack, you'll see many complaints and articles about them
You should contact a supervisor and also speak with Bell's fraud department. You may also wish to contact the CRTC with regard to the operations of Triton.

I registered a complaint with the CRTC Last night.

After checking the "services" that Fast Track Global provide, one is "customer verification"
So, as  Bell Tel. customer, If I phone Bell and ask for a change in my service,Upgrade, downgrade etc, we all play "20 questions"...name, date of birth, address, mothers maiden name yadda yadda, to "verify"  we are that customer. WHAT IF, in fact, I am not talking to an "actual" Bell Tel. employee, but rather an employee of Fast Track Global? They have "verified" me as a Bell customer, and charge Bell tel. for doing so, and
Bell tel. tacks that  onto our bill. We are dealing with parasites. Bell tel being one of the biggest ones.
Just my opinion

Same situation here. If you look at the "services" that Fast Track Global provide, you will see "customer verification services".  If  I ,or anyone else, phones their telecom provider to update, change, etc. their service, they have to provide information that is unique to that customer..name,address, date of birth, mothers maiden name, etc, yadda yadda. I'm thinking that we might be actually providing this info to "these" parasites and not even talking to someone that is actually employed with Bell or the other telecoms. The parasites then
charge Bell for their customer verification service and Bell tacks it onto our bill. We can all add Bell Tel. to our list of parasites.
Just a thought

I also got billed for 3 calls for $3.99 per call.  When I called Bell about this, I was told they would remove it from my bill; but, I might get a bill from Fastrack.  I am not paying this amount and I do not know why Bell does not look into the matter.   Too many people have been scammed.

This is a scam and Bell seems to think they can collect this money for the scammers.  I hope everyone complains to Bell and the Crtc to have this stopped.

I work for a telcom agency in billing, and we have seen this as well. I can't say whether it is a legit company or not, but I can say that they send the invoice to your provider (Bell, for instance), and Bell is legally obligated to add it to your bill as per CRTC rules. As per those same rules when you callin to get it removed, they are supposed to defend these charges as if they are their own. This is to protect legit long distance rebillers (Like Yak and Sears) who do the same thing when you use their service. But again, under those same laws, after defending and determining they are not legit for that bill, your provider is supposed to be able to deny the call back to the company, in this case Levendo. They can then come after you for the charges, but they are removed from your provider bill.

My advice is call in and repeatedly deny the call. The agent you speak with is only doing their job in fighting it, but they will relent. If it shows up again, over another bill or multiple usage, again by CRTC rules, the provider can't deny the call. If that ends up being the case, call the RCMP.

Hi: I was scammed as well for 2 calls for a total of 9.00--I called Bell Laval office and they told me about this provider--then they put me through  the Philippines-home service. I was told that they would reverse the charges-they would look into it and call the company and if I did make the calls from my house which i did not--i would have to pay the charges. I said I would not and then that person lost patience with me. I asked how a different company could apply charges on my bell bill---no answer--frustration on the other side. Also I was overcharges 100.00 for a deactivation of my bell internet which I never asked for--this was reversed after some time. Am fed up of spending 2 hours globe trotting to make sure that I am not overcharged. I will contact the CRTC and Better Business Bureau. The number began 514--which is a montreal code--555-1212 1 day and another 514-1213 another.

I just sent this to the CRTC's complaint service on the net at...
http://www.crtc.gc.ca/rapidsccm/Register.asp?lang=E

my message said....
Maybe you are already aware of complaints regarding a company called Levendo. We received a $4.51 charge on our Bell home phone bill for directory service that we never placed? The number shows up as 905-555-1212.
Bell credited the charge and also said that we may be billed directly by Fastrack Global Billing for the charge. I'm assuming they handle the billing for this Levendo company:
http://www.fastracknetworks.com/

After researching Levendo on the net, this appears to be a widespread scam as you can see by discussion groups such as these, all usually with 555-1212 but with various area codes:
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-519-555-1212
http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/9055551212

Could you please investigate this matter further as I suspect there are many people who never even noticed the charges and paid it unknowingly.

Appreciate the assistance,
ScottCaller: Levendo

This is a very complicated and elaborate scam that I'm incapable (so far) of solving.

Just spent half an hour on the phone with Bell Canada.  Told them I was billed $4.51 from a "customer dialed" (me) call to Directory Assistance LEVENDO (ON 905-555-1212) on Nov. 25, 2010 and that I had made no such call.  This was AFTER I had seen this site and confirmed to myself that this was indeed some kind of scam.

At first, the girl from Bell insisted the call was made from my phone and suggested that a "visitor" to my home did it.  I tried to tell her about this site and that I was not the only one complaining about this number.  She then looked up the number on 411.Ca and said it was a legitimate company.  I asked to speak to her supervisor and she put me on hold for 20 minutes.

She came back, told me that they would refund me the $4.51 on my next bill, but that if it happens again, I will be charged.  I was also told that this call didn't go through Bell, but through another provider called Fast Track Global and their number 1-866-340-4990.  She said that Bell reimburses Fast Track for all charges going through them.

I checked out Fast Track Global and came up with this:

http://www.callcenterdirectory.net/call-cente ... lobal-2220.html

I also Googled 1-866-340-4990 and got a call center called Express Connect.

Tried phoning the above number, but it was after 5 p.m. and got voice mail, told to leave my name and number.  I did not, but plan to phone them back on Monday.

I have no idea how this scam works and just hope it doesn't happen again.  If anyone can figure this out, please post it here.
