I got a call today, I am in Australia. The same deal as above was interested as they said I won, then transferred me to a booking consultant who basically wanted my credit card number as I had to pay about $700. I didn't give them the number and they guy wasnt very happy, said that the original guy was new and shouldn't have said that I had won, but it was still a great deal. it is a scam.

Received call this morning, said they were from usa. Trip for 4 people, had to pay $675, that I was special because was selected from Australia. Heard them out but when it came to giving my credit card details and I refused, called his manager who got irate with me and offended, and I said well, I didn't want to waste his time because there was no way I was going to give my credit card details etc. same as what others have posted. Was on the phone for almost an hour.

Got a call from Astar saying that i had won a cheap holiday to Orlando/Bahamas and Vegas.  Foolishly gave my credit card but they only took $500 to pay for half the trip.  A year later i am organizing my trip but unlike most companies this one does try and help you in anyway with your trip eg transfers, extra nights etc.
Get a call after 3 months of emails and he told me the names of the hotels.  Due to their slowness I am having the great pleasure of telling him, i have found other accommodation and it includes many more extras without being slugged surcharges such as upgrade to a larger room in Orlando or $76 weekend rate at the Stratosphere for a Friday Night check in.
Avoid this company as you will get better deals at Bookit or Expedia.

I recieved the call today too...all the way to Ireland! Didnt trust Georgia or Timothy for one second even before they asked for the credit card details. Basically i heard them out and yes holiday sounds fantastic but there is always a catch. Timothy wasnt too pleased that i wouldnt give my credit card details he gave me a whole speil on how they use Maestro secure and how payments on credit cards are protected. He also offered to go through the company website with me as he was paid by the 'hour'. The phone call ended with Timmy trying to make me feel bad by offering the winning prize to the runner up in the UK. What a job for 'Georgia' and 'Timmy'...carrying around the weight of a bad conscience!

My girlfriend got this call as well, a few days ago that number had called and said that she could do this survey and get a chance to win a vacation. A day or 2 after she did the survey they called back but we did not answer the phone and they did not leave a message. They called a couple more times over the next few days and did not leave a message. Today they called back and my girlfriend the phone and they had said that she had won and that all she has to pay for was the flight to Florida and 250 to the port authorty for the cruise. It sounded like bs to me, if she had really won something you'd figure that they would have left a message. Also if she had booked tonight she would have gotten the 2 bonus vacations. They had put my girlfriend on hold and she was telling me about it and I told her that is sounded like bs and to hang up.

I got the same speil and did not give my credit card info (after much persistance from  Pedro Reyer)to them and asked for 24hrs to check them out. I have just found this site, so I am glad I did do that. I thought it was too good to be true. The phone number was different, they gave me 001 813 676 8900 but almost word for word what was written by top person Mikhail on 14th March 2009. Maybe it is legit but it looks like one still must fork out a lot of money to enjoy this trip. Even though they say I have won it.Eg: airfares from Australia for 4, Port taxes x 4 and all other taxes and charges while over there. Plus the $998.00 they wanted up front when I asked them "whats the catch". So I haven't won anything. I'd be paying out a small fortune. This maybe ok if you live in the states but not here.

I received the "You won a trip of a lifetime" call. As I live in Australia there were no survey questions. When they wanted my credit card number I got very suspicious and refused to give it, so the guy hung up on me! - they were going to charge me a "small fee" of $998 US! It was the same package -as above people have mentioned, except no longer staying at the Radisson or Ramada - these hotels have obviously given them the flick. Accommodation is now at the Hilton at Fort Lauderdale and Walt Disney World and at the Bahamas.

If it's a true prize then there should not be any fee at all! Definitely a scam!

I am living in The Netherlands and was called two days ago appr. 11.30 in the evening. I don't know her name, but she was a nice lady. I was told that i could come with 4 persons for the price of euro 704,--. It was a nice opportunity to travel 14 days in such a rich way. I was playing a game on the Internet and there appears a banner that i was the 1 million player and they offered me this yourney. So i filled in my name, adress etc. and that i had a visa card. In the conversation over the phone she asked for the number and my full name. I answered that i could nog find my card and if i could phone her back. That was not possible for the security department must have a zip code and i only should get this code when she had my card number. At that moment i did not believe the whole story and i said that i ended the conversation. It is a shame!

I am from Perth Western Australia. I received a call yesterday on 22/5/2010 pertaining the same information that I had won a holiday to Orlando Florida, Las Vegas and the Bahamas. I told them I did not recall entering any such competition. They had all my personal information and kept asking about my credit card details. When I told them, I don't see what this information has to do with anything', and refused to give them my credit card details, they hung up. After the phone call I looked up the details online to find out it was a scam.

While this scam now appears to be several years old now judging by complaints of A-Star and All Seasons Travel & Resorts online, THE SCAM STILL SEEMS TO BE CONTINUING and people from Australia, New Zealand and Europe are still falling victim to scams such as this. So I am doing what I can to spread the word.

I received a phone call today saying that I had won a fantastic holiday and blah blah blah.  When I said I was not giving my credit card over the phone the salesman got very upset with me.  When I said send me an email and I will call you back he said he would have to give it to the next person I said good luck then and hung up.  He called me straight back, and by this stage I was googling them on the computer and realised it was a scam.  I told him it was a scam and guess what?  HE HUNG UP ON ME.

Astar you suck.

Im located in Wollongong NSW and i was as contatcted by a company called All Seasons Travel on Saturday regarding winning an internet competition that i had never entered. It was a trip id apparently won to Orlando, Florida, Miami & the Bahamas, however they wanted me to pay $299 US per person for some port fee into the Bahamas as well as paying $998 US for something he couldnt really explain. I was then asked for my credit card details for any mastercard or visa and expected to pay the $998 US right there and then. He claimed his name was Greg Phillips and then transferred me to someone else. I believe if id won any such holiday i would not be paying for anything or atleast remember entering!!! After several internet searches seems im proved right. There are alot of forums on such phone calls in the UK and all over Australia so be very very careful!!

I live on the Gold Coast in Australia and we got a call like that yesterday from some bloke in Florida, or so he claimed, telling us we'd won a $6000US vacation.  They kept passing us around from one person to another and then just slipped in the fact we had to pay $998 for some tax on the spot to secure the prize by giving them our credit card details.  When we faltered on that, they threw in a bonus trip to Las Vegas just to sweeten the pot.  We said no and I advise all of you out there contemplating taking this prize to do the same.  Do not give anyone your credit card details or you'll get your account cleaned out.  This is a scam.  My bank said that a good policy to follow is If it sounds too good to be true, it is and that a good way to protect your credit card is to open a separate account with a visa card attached to it and only add the required amount of money to the account when you want to buy something.

I got the same call today...US$6k package for 4, US$998 luxury tax etc from the Hilton / Radisson Group who said they were associated with Disney.  Unfortunately these names didn't appear in the search I did after managing to get the guy off the phone for 30mins) so found this afterwards, though I still said no so it was ok :)

I'm in Brisbane, Australia spoke to Ronnie Jackson and Kirk someone.

I'm actually interested in hearing whether anyone has actually done this and whether or not it worked out.  To me it just had all the hallmarks of pressure selling:

- hyping people up
- short timeframe, you need to decide now, the office & the promotion closes in 1 1/2 hours, so you can't take a day to think about.
- sweetening you up if you look like you're going to say no - more free things, or in my case a 30 day money back guarantee (how I prove that I had this guarantee AFTER I have paid the money and want to get my money back I have no idea)
- asking for money when you have 'won' something or before you've even received anything.

Anyway, going to let my bank know not to process any transaction for US$998 or anything from Hilton / Radisson or anything that looks dodgy!!

I received exactly the same as above. They phoned about 3 times now and either I am not home or I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I didn't see anything about them covering airfare in the email so knew that would be extra, and it did mention that Port and departure fee was applicable... but down at the bottom of the email it stated this:

"Transportation, meals (meals & entertainment included on cruise), hotel and car taxes are the responsibility of the traveler."

... which leads me to believe that all along the trip you are going to be dinged for extra costs!

Not falling for it!

They called and I did the travel survey.  The next night they called again and said that a won a Flordia/Bahamas cruise for 4.  I asked her what the cost was to me and she said that she couldn't give a price right now as they haven't completed the package yet but they would pay 80% and we would pay 20%.  What kind of company calls you and tells you you've a trip and can't answer your questions and also if you have won a trip isn't it suppose to be FREE.  The is BS.  They also said they were going to send me an email but have never done that. They are suppose to call me again but I won't be answering the phone.  Thanks for the information from the above comments!

Hi there,
I got the same phone call(April 14th, 2009): First a lady (very nice, btw) mentioned that if I did the 2 min telephone "Nat'l Travel Survey" I could win an all inclusive vacation package to Florida and a cruise to the Bahamas. I believe that 4 key questions they asked were: where and when I took my last holidays and how much I spent and which type of credit card I used (they did not asked my credit card number--which of course I was not going to provide). They had all my information (name, address, phone number...of course) but they requested my email address so they would let me know if I was a winner. Next morning there was the exact message posted above from Astar Radisson Rewards (astar-radisson-rewards@rogers.com). This email included pictuires and logos of the Radisson, Carnival Cruise Lines, Dollar auto-rental, All-Seasons Travel, etc...Of course, I didn't fall for it. So I called to the Radisson (Worldwide Reservations: +1-888-201-1718) and they told me that they were aware of this scam and that they are now taking legal actions.
Anyway, later that day I got the call from the Astar thieves and ask me that I was a winner and that they were going to give me the information so I could claim my prize. I told them I am not interested and that I got myself informed about what they were trying to do. The lady said that that was not true and that she was very sorry I felt that way, because I was not accepting the prize...and that they were a Legitimate Travel Agency that probably not everybody at the Radisson knew about it....etc etc. At the end I said: whether it is true or not I am not interested, I will not take or claim any prize, I do not provide my credit card number over the phone (TO ANYBODY-NEVER-even in legitimate calls...sorry, but not) and to please remove my name and information from their system.
I haven't called the Carnival Cruise Lines, so if anybody has, please, let us know what they have to say about it.
