What did they want from me?

I also received the same check with the same letter.  It was too good to be true.  But I didn't call it.  I went to the BBB.org.  And they remionded me that playing a foreign lottery is illegal even if you are the one scammed.  So if it's too good to be true, throw it out.

I also just recevied the same identical letter and check from Mutual Financial Securities Inc. This is really a good fraud!!! I am reporting these people..I hope everyone also reports them to the Attorney General of their state..The envelope came with a stamp from Cananda..No return address..

"Yes, don't mess with me"?? Which is precisely the right response to go right ahead and mess with him. Please people... DONOT be intimidated in the least with these scum. You cannot get in any kind of trouble for reporting scams and scam artists.
I didn't get a call from this number but I did receive a check in the mail for the sum of $4890.00. I immediately tore it up and threw it away. I would NOT attempt to cash the check as it is worthless and the monies may be deducted from your account when it bounces.

I called this guy Bob while I was reading the comments.  I told him that I'm reading what a scam this is and informed him that I plan on reporting him to which he replied "if you do you will go to jail".  I said "I would go to jail for reporting you?"  to which his reply was "yes, don't mess with me".

Anyone else threaten to inform authorities about him?

I called the bank that this check is drawn on (Cass Commercial)  It is a fraud.  What happens is that when a person deposits the check (if your bank does not put a hold on it), some people will send a check back to the company for the taxes right away and before you know it, they cash your tax check and then the check you deposited (your winnings) will bounce

Go ahead and deposit the check, see what happens???

I got the same check in the mail today.  It looks like a real deal and I googles Mutual Securities Inc. and it's a legitimate company out of Chesterfield, MO.  I have my doubts about the check and payable taxes.  If you win any certain amountlike $250,000. then the taxes due would be roughly $100K.  Sending a partial check and half of a tax advice makes no sense to me.  I think for the hell of it, I will deposit the check and see what happens.

I received this phone number in a letter with a check for $4,890.00. The check looks real. But the letter says call a guy named Bob Morris. I am supposed to send him bACK AROUND $3,000.00 for taxes I owe do to a sweepstakes I won. This is scam central if I have ever seen one. Be careful out there. These losers are getting real creative
