the letter should include the product or service being "given as a gift". Deceit is b***s***.

Asked to speak to the owner of the house, said they were out, asked who was calling and all the girl said was "we'll try again later."

I responded with "I don't think they will appreciate you calling again" she responded with attitude "it doesn't matter what you think, we'll try again later." To which I responded "I think it does matter - " she cut me off and said "we'll try again later, ya ok bye" and hung up.

I called the number back went to voicemail saying "you've reached the desk of Ms. Cohen, please leave a msg."

My family recently received a mystery card from Ms. Cohen, with the number 905-614-0865 on it. The card said: "We have recently been trying to contact you regarding your welcome gift."   Yeah, whatever.

I have been trying to research the number. There have been several other complaints, and someone identified the company as RainSoft. Google them, and you'll find a lot of information on this company!!

I am not affiliated with this company, just want to ring in on all of the crying that's going on in this forum. Being a business owner requires ethical marketing to get the response from those who may be interested in a product or service. If you are not interested, and want nothing to do with the marketing offer, just simply throw it away. In today's society, we just play with our little cell phones and computers and want as little to do with people as possible. This is why as business owners, the methods have changes to emotional based marketing vs. door knocking. BUCK UP! STOP CRYING!, do some push ups and then some shut ups. Its only a sales guy, you don't have to be afraid.

I got the same card in the mail with my name and address hand written. No return address. The card says " We have recently been trying to contact you regarding your welcome gift. Since we were unable to reach you by phone we will be able to hold your gif for only a limited time.  Please call Ms. Cohen at your earliest convenience.  Monday-Friday 2:00pm-8:30pm. Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm. 905-614-0865 or 1-866-825-9077."

Got a letter in my name  stamped and with hand-written address. It says: "We have been recently trying to contact you regarding your water. Please give Ms. Cohen a call at 905-614-0865 or 1-866-825-9077" And then it states time this person is available.

I received the "welcome gift" mystery card as well. Curiosity led me to try and research the two phone numbers on-line, because I was not going to call. No reputable company uses sales tactics like that.

The mrs cohen thing (905-614-0865) is a lady from a company called Rainsoft that says they want to come by and do free water testing at your home to show you how bad your water is. I have been told that they try to sell you their filtering systems and are very pushy.

Just got the same card in the mail as 'es'. No return address, two unlisted phone #s so I did not call.  Based on Yadiyadiya's post this may be the "we'll test your water for free" offer which is always followed by the "you need a water softener" sales pitch.  Or perhaps even the "you need a very expensive water filter" variation.
