they keep calling me a couple of times a day i never answer but it is getting annoying

Just cacelled my Rogers account and have been getting calls from random numbers.  Wonder if Rogers is paying someone to harass us.

July 26, 2013 - I got a call from "Amber" from SPT, or SPD, who had an Indian-sounding accent, and said they were just going to do a 40-second survey about environmental practices.

I interrupted the first question to ask who the survey was being conducted on behalf of, and she said "we are a legitimate environmental survey organization in the Ottawa area," or something along those lines, and started her questions again.

When I interrupted again to clarify who was leading the survey, the line went dead - she hung up on me! I used *69 to check the number, which came up as 905-667-5566.

Got two calls today from this number to my cell number. No message left.

I got a call from this number on July 22, 2013 at 11:20 am. A woman named 'Clara' with a Philipino accent launched into a series of questions on recycling.  She said she was calling from SPD on behalf of the city of Ottawa. I thought it was a scam to get personal information from me. When I asked her why the city was not calling me she did not answer. She continued to ask me questions as if I was willing to participate. I told her I did not want to participate in her survey and hung up.

I have had calls ten times in one week from this number. I answered the first time and they asked for the lady of the house and I said no and ended the call.

I have a machine message said " you are going to die" I laughed thanks for all the information in here. Wonder? How long to gave up?

Just got a message on my voice mail from this number... "You are going to die"

This is a new one: They left a message that was a beeping (like a FAX machine) and then an automated voice saying, "You're gonna die." Guess the scammers/spammers are getting angry.

My parents received a call from this number last night.  They left a message on my parents voicemail that said:  "you're going to die".
I did a reverse look up and it's a landline from Hamilton, ON and we're out West but still a bit disconcerting.   How can the police not take this seriously?

Multiple calls, when answered, they hang up.  When I call back, no ring, line dead.  Annoying.

Just had same # 905-667-5566 call ,when I picked up the phone and answered no one on the line just background noise... and hung up. Thanks all for the tips ... in future all unknown #'s I will just ignore.

i have you not to call my phone no more you keep calling and now after i sumit this now that i have an addresse you will  get court pappers

been receiving lots of annoying calls from them , they dont stop calling me , would like them to stop please.

This number calls almost daily.  I'm on the do not call registry - so they first say they are doing a survey - surveys are not covered by the registry.  THEN.. they try to sell you.  They use the survey thing as a scam around the registry - so they can claim they were only doing a survey.  This makes them double-scum!

My experience is that I have many calls from Air Duct Cleaning services. Apparently get money for each
answered line, regardless if the person buys anything or if a person hangs up during the call. Their objective is to get you to answer the call.  
Each time these callers have an Indian (hindu) accent person on the other end of the line who identifies
himself as Joseph each time. Same person? Who knows?


I have even attempted to lodge a complaint by calling the CRTC about this number. This have proven to
be totally fruitless as they are using a spoofing dialer that puts out unassigned numbers and besides the
CRTC does nothing about these callers regardless.  I have even tried calling the police, guess what? They say that they are investigating the number?  Sound familiar?  No official agency is willing to do anything about these telemarketers.  

How do I stop them from calling?

Home phone users

Step 1 Block them with a call blocker:
Step 2 Buy a Uniden DECT1288 which blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the
reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Step 3 Buy a Panasonic KX-TG106 which blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a
busy tone, after the phone rings once.
Step 4 Buy a JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller this one blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to
always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Cellular phone users

Step 1 Buy a cell phone, even cheap phone plans work too
Step 2 Choose to put the number on do not answer (Reject Call List) It's on the phone.
Step 3 After it's on the (reject list) download an app called Ringo Lite (FREE)
Step 4 Put the phone number into your contacts
Step 5 Set the ring type to SILENT.

This way you can put unlimited phone numbers on the list.  I am doing this one.

Done.

They have been calling me about my computer to give them the numbers off of it. Another time about allergies they said they were from Microsoft saying something was wrong with my windows, They called around 9:30 pm 11:00 pm .It was never before 9 pm when we got the calls and always different.

Recieved a call no message, tried to block

These idiots just dont know when to quit, calling all the time 2 -3 -4 times a day, right up till 9:00 at night. Have phoned them back, all I get is a busy signal. I am on the DNC list, why is it these people keep right on calling like the DNC list doesnt even exist.

I also have been receiving these annoying calls.  When I asked them to remove me from their call list, he said NO  - No and hung up on me.  Someone suggested - and I think it's a good idea - to encourage them to think I want my furnace ducts cleaned or an aeration system installed - let them talk for 15 minutes - feed them false information - then tell them you are not interested - I can do that while I continue to read my book - and hope they do not call back???

same thing these people call and ask about recycling and then you say that your not interested and hang up and then they call every day sometimes they say nothing. I not sure what this scam is about. It Seems very strange that they don't give up. Maybe I'm on some sort of a vengeance list.

I have been getting calls from this number several times a day for over a month now. Typical, they won't
leave a message. Must be scammers working overtime. Yep!! Just like I figured after reading the posts
on this forum. Gotta love that caller ID! Best screening tool the phone company ever came up with.

By the way, what ever happened to the dncl list? I registered several years ago.
