Got one in my mail called "Super Tic Tac Toe".and scratched it and said I won a 70" Sharp Aquos TV.  Called the number...first got "Whattaya want?".  When I said I wanted, she changed her tune and said I have to have sit through a presentation about water systems before I get my prize.

Some clown comes to my house an hour or so later.  Mumbles his name, shows no ID, only proof of his company is on his shirt (Niagara Clean Air).  First few minutes talked to both myself and my mom as if we were morons and tried to sell us "Alkaline water" (a scam I found out later), Finally, after a few minutes, I just told him to his face, this is total b***s***.  And told him him leave...NOW!  Tried say if I don't buy his system my mom was going to die of cancer, etc.  I gave two minutes to pack up and leave or else I call the cops.

The Company is located 157 Cushman Rd., St. Catharines, ON.

Thanks for all the comment. My wife scratch the ticket and called that she had won. I kept telling her that it was a scam. She believed it wasn't. So ok I said finally, just to prove to her it is. She said all we have to do is listen to a presentation and we win. Ya right!!! I told her. She calls them, and  Because it was a bit late in the night, they said the would come over the next day.

So before they showed up, I had researched them online. I read that most people win the hotel prize. Which it a prize where you have to go to a hotel and buy the most expensive package and then you get 10% off. Of course not worth it. Any hotel would do that just to keep u there.

Ok her we go: Door bell goes off, now I'm getting excited. (To prove my point)lol.
Walks in my house, I asked him is this a scam or not. Don't waste my time!.  He says all I have to do is show you the presentation. I asked what's the prize before I wast time  watching a presentation. He says I can't tell you  unless I show you my product. I then block the door and say, show my the prize now. He gets scared and says look it real, we have a chart and we Mach you ticket. We'll guess what, like I thought the prize would be the hotel prize. (Just as I thought) I grabbed all his s***, and threw it out the door. Most of his crapp broke. Hopefully it will slow them down from showing and wasting people's time. At the end of the day SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!!!!!

The numbers that I had on the back of the ticket were: 905-470-8372 and 1-855-470-8372 spoke with a guy called Ken.

Scam!  They use trickery for the water filtration and will tell you this video is old but it is exactly what they do. Copy and paste

http://mp.tv/videos-marketplace-clean-water-dirty-sales-[hxY48FDLDIc].cfm

http://www.wellandtribune.ca/2009/09/23/niaga ... rification-scam

Go to Home Depot or Canadian Tire or call Culligan, a reputable company if you are looking for water purification.  Actually you don't need it- our water is safe to drink.
Check prices elsewhere- if you need air filtration, a room unit will cost you less than $200.00

So, I work for this company as one of the. what you would call "Salesman".....but Salesmen only get paid commission,
I get paid hourly and commission. The demonstration will show you the benefits of using a Conditioner/purification system for your House hold water.......There is a HUGE difference. The company that sends out these bingo scratches will give you a prize, like it states on the back and educate you on the municipal water you may drink. I'm just a average guy lol....I've been working with them for about 2 weeks now, overall it's kind of scary to really know what's in your water.

Anyhoo, they do win prizes. Totally understandable how people can be leery of them, no doubt.

Just leaves more prizes for other people ;)

I think you are all nuts -- it is not a scam when you get your prize.  I guess all marketing is a scam...I get the car adds with the tab you pull out and holy s*** I won a car -- lol -- it's all the same. It's not a scam...just a bit deceptive.  I imagine some of those low life vac guys scam but can't lump em all in one barrell.  I don't work for Tri-Star but I did when I was young about 20yrs ago -- they still using the same s*** apparently.  They need to use a more legit approach.

Why does everyone think they won the TV  ( or fake won the TV at least) , is it just because the TV is under the right hand bingo grid ... The middle one is also a winning X and there is nothing under that one !! Anyways not the point , dont bother calling though my neighbor and I did it , he got a shower head and I got knives , they spent about 20 minutes here and you can buy the shower head and knives at the dollar store here , 3$ .. It was worth screwing with the guy a bit , I have an Oreck air cleaner in the house because of allergies and so his machine couldnt find anything and the water came out clean everytime .. yet somehow I still absolutely needed it.. 6139611422

Nope, not a 'scam' you do get a prize, but if you read the ticket carefully no winning combination matches a specific prize, they just make it look like you won a big prize. Bottom line is you will likely sit through a 1hour presentation by an extremely pushy sales person to 'win' a shower head!

How this works
1.You get your card and you call the number. You tell them your address martial status and whether or not your a home-owner.  They may also ask questions about whether or not you are "comfortably retired".  All there trying to do here is collect information for there database.
2.  Later you will get a call if they think that you would be a suitable customer and they will tell you that they have students in the area tonight and that in exchange for your opinion on their new product (resperaide/ tristar) they will give you your free gift.
3. If you agree a company rep shows up at your house and goes through his sales spiel, they usually spend about an hour in your home.
4.  At the end of their sales spiel they give you your free gift.  I don't think that its a laptop, im very sure that they are giving away a 2 night hotel voucher.

The company that does this is called star industries which is the sales branch of a larger engineering firm that does everything from the cooling system on NASAs launch pad to to home electronics.  Star industries has been selling vacuums in the Calgary area for about 11 years.  Im very confident on the fact that they dont have any offices and thus no sales people in all of B.C. as well as in any other cities in Alberta.

What morons... I just gave them a fake address and fake phone number. These guys are such scammers. They try to send sketchy people into your home and sell you stuff. Not professional at all. Very high pressure sales tactics and the product is not worth near what they sell it for. Poor souls who fall for this... They will just waste 2 hours of your time and won't leave your home. Ask yourself is 2 hours of your time worth a set of veggie knives.

It's great you can google and find out what is a scam. Waste of time. Triple bingo card into the recycle bin. That is all it's good for - unless you really want a home demonstration of an expensive product you don't need.
