Yes these people should rot in jail. I didnt recieve a cheque but I want to comment on Amys post. You said "these foreign criminals". You put Canada in a catergory with these overseas known scamming countries....., just my thought but you should have included your own country`s scammers as well and just not the "foreign" ones ;)

I got the same letter but with a different phone #. 905-5984736. I called and kept asking questions which was quite irritating to "Kelly Anderson". When I asked if it was something I had entered, she said no, it was a result of shopping at Walmart, Home Depot, Zales, or J.C. Penny. When I pushed further, she was rude and told me she had already repeated herself 4 times. It occurred to me the check could be returned after you had already sent in "the tax fee". I am reporting to the BBB and also USPS, this is mail fraud since it was delivered through the mail. The rudeness was what prompted me to research online. I hope others do as well.

received letter and check for $4995.00 saying that i won a contest awarding me $250,000...check appeared real enough so i put it in the bank only to find out that it was bogus and that i was being ripped off.fortunately, i didn't spend any of it..i had the bank reverse the check out and told the bank that it was a fraud and didn't clock into any bank..the bank is looking into the fraud..this is a cruel hoax especially to elderly and the poor who could imagine all kinds of ways to spend the money..i am thankful i questioned it in time not to give them my bank number, and that i found out that it was all a cruel hoax...it should've been a warning to me from the start the way the woman answered the phone and the way the letter was written...let this be a warning to all the people out there..

I received the $4998.oo check in the mail today along with a letter from "SWISS FINANCIAL SECURITIES, INC."

The check was drawn on Enterprise Bank in Clayton, MO., so I called the bank: (314) 725-5500.

A nice lady named Elizabeth told me that the check was a fraud, and that I needed to call my States Attorney to report it.

I ended up calling: (800) 372-8347 and speeking with a branch of the United States Fraudulent Mail Dept. (do not choose any of the options, just hang on the line until a person answers). He told me that they will take a report when you receive 2 fraudulent mailings from the same company.

So, if anyone has received more than one of these mailings...they should call and get a report made :)

My dad received a letter from swiss financial securities inc. yesterday and told me to call today, since there was a $4,998 check enclosed. I called the 1-416-833-6337 and KELLY ANDERSON answered. She was really rude and did not want to tell me much information. The only thing she said was that he had been choosen from a drawing done by J.C Penny, Walmart, Home Depot and some other stores. After seing that they had mispelled securities and looking at the check twice i decided to do my research and found this website. Please do not fall for this SCAM.

             with a phne 905-783-2559

they change the name amd the amount but thay did not change the promotion manager which is the same name Mary Brown. Isn't this strage not to hunt them down? To me this is the same thing as a terorist does.

i received the check from them also. Boy it sure looks authentic. they must be bagging bunches of people given the clean look of their check.
the check's company name is Thrash Aviation of morton missisippi. there is a company called Thrash Aviation in pelahatchie mississippi but i don't think they are writing sweepstakes checks for thousands of dollars.
I am following up with my bank to push this as criminal action as much as possible.
they did not call me so i have no caller info to enter.
thanks.

Yep! I received a check and letter from First Access Securities,Inc. The letter stated that I was a sweepstakes winner of $250,000. They were sending a incentive check of $4,995.00, and out of that to send $2,995.00 for taxes. First there was no return address, which made me suspicious. Second, the bank was in Havre, Montana, the company in Seattle, Washington, and the letter came Ontario. Way too many places to believe it was real. I too would like to catch these low lifes. Especially, at this time when many people need money.
Watch out and be mindful of what you get. Nothing is ever for free.

I got an email stating i had been selected to be a mystery shopper through the California Job Bank, and to respond to a web link at brandconceptsinc.com. So I went to the website (not the link!) and found the phone number
General Inquires……1-905-598-4736
E-mail…….......……info@brandconceptinc.com

These people are clearly scammers. Do not call, do not email, DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY CHECKS IT WILL DEPLETE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT!!!! EVEN IF YOUR BANK TELLS YOU IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FRADULENT!!!

Got a letter stating my my ex-wife, who has not lived here for over ten years, was a sweepstakes winner of $250,000. Enclosed was a check for $3970. to pay the taxes with and then the prize money would come after the taxes were paid. Took this to the bank and they said it was a scam. Looked at this site and here we are...the company's name now is Northstar Global, Inc. I hate scammers, don't you?
