This is gonna spiral out of control, and plant negative seeds for nothing.
These people are simply calling for donations and have a contract with a thrift store which will pay them for the items so the money can be used to support the Canadian Diabetes Association that does allot for the millions of people suffering.
I am sure its not there intention to hang up or to call at dinner time. If the truck is full that's great that means people are donating. You can book another pickup time or drop it off at one of the centers. And throwing donation items into the garbage when you can donate them for free and do nothing but set them outside is disappointing but not everyone cares about the well being of others.
Anyways this board is nonsense, and the day your waiting on a cure you can remember the day you posted such stupidity.

They have been calling everyday at about 3:30pm for the last week without leaving any message.  I have donated to them before since my husband is T2 diabetic.  One time they did not show up for a scheduled pickup because they apparently had the wrong address on file...even though they had picked up from here before.

I have grown frustrated with these callers... this is the new "duct cleaning" annoyance ... my understanding is that 99% of these calls are NOT from legitimate charities, but instead from people who will happily come to your house, pick up your donations and sell them to thrift stores or otherwise for a modest profit.

Same thing happened with me, Mary. They said their truck is already full and they could come 6 weeks later. I agreed to the date and now they are still calling but not even leaving a message.
I have a good mind to give the items to the CP Assoc.who also call nearly every day.

Jeez give these guys a break. The girl who just called me is a volunteer. The reason there is no answer is they use a computer dialer and there is a delay between you answering and them getting an answered call from a person. And that's why you don't get messages, computer dialer does not leave messages. Any how, I get annoyed too, but this is the winter season, look at yourselves, are you better off this year than last. I know I'm not. People are getting poorer, or really rich, and the poor suffer the most. Its getting cold outside, and they're calling for clothing, at least it's not a scam like those damn duct cleaner lol. I hope I'm not being rude, I don't work for them or anything, I just understand where they're coming from. And if you're angry in your life about something, reflect on that before you take it out on a volunteer! Thank you and have a happy holiday season everyone

I phoned them as I had some houshold items to donate and they told me that they wouldn't be near my neighbourhood for at least 6 weeks but a few days later, their truck was on my street. I like to donate to them as my grandson has T1 and I want to help raise funds but they don't make it easy.

I just had a call from this number.  It's the Canadian Diabetes Society/Clothesline Program (clothing donations).  They leave some toll-free number to call to arrange a pickup.

What pi$$es me off is a) I have previously asked them to never call me and b) I waited through the entire stupid pre-recorded message, waiting for the opportunity to make a selection that would tell them to not call again.  But when the pre-recorded message finished, it simply hung up.

Grrrrrrrr!
