Get "Mr. Number" app for android cell phones. Phone answers then immediately hang up on selected numbers. It does this quick enough the phone doesn't even ring and doesn't go to voicemail.

I have a small select group of people who know my cell #, so I never answer a number that does not display a family/friend name.  The real irritation is when traveling in another time zone so that a call which dials in what would be evening in my cell # area actually comes in the middle of the night in another part of the world.  Either I turn off the sound at night when travelling (fine as long as there is no emergency at home with someone really needing to make contact) or I designate a ring tone just for unsolicited numbers that I never want to answer.  As of the last time I checked some weeks ago, most cell phone manufacturers do not provide a "silent" ring tone that could be assigned to unwanted numbers.

Just received a call - no message

Got a call from this number saying won 200 airmiles then someone came on about a trip just hung up (scam)

This phone number has not been given out to anyone other than family contacts, so where did they get my number from?

Airmiles price, obviously scam, cause airmiles would never call you like that. I almost believed I did win, but it was too mean (the voice) Think about it, if air miles called you they would be polite and happy for you (or pretend) And you can always hang up and call them back on the number on the back of card. This number should be investigated, but why would police ever bother.
BTW need a Call type here for "phishing" or "scammers" cause this is not a telemarketer, its just plain attempt to defraud you.

Got a call saying:

"Because you are a rogers customer you will receive a special gift.....to accept press 1".

Then silence. I stayed on the line to see what would happen and it disconnected 5 seconds later. Calling back gave me the 'this number is not assigned' message.

I don't know which scam company it is but anyone who asks me to press a number is definitely trying to get those redirect dollars where they send your call to the azores or somewhere at $99/minute.

905-996-2323 called meat 1:16pm today but I didn't answer because I was in class. They left no message and didn't call back so I wanted to find out it was.

Got a call from 1-905-996-2323.  Because my cell phone is being used by a collections agency looking for someone, I thought this was the same people.  This isn't a valid phone number.  If you try to call back, the operator tells you to check the number and try again.  I want to report this number because they are not a legitimate entity and have no business calling me....  My cell phone is for MY use and MY purposes.  Now that I see so many posts about this nuisance caller online, obviously someone needs to check into this...

I received 2 calls a minute apart on my cel about noon from this number today (Friday Sept 14) in Vancouver. Was busy so didn't answer. No message was left and I didn't call back. Costs me 50 Cents a minute with the plan I have, so I googled the number and that's how I got here and sharing my experience. Am new to my celphone, so I have to now figure out if, and how I can block this number.
Wish there was a way to shut down these #@%*&%$ telemarketers.

Really the phone companies knowing what's happening, more income for them. They know these are scams,
but only interested in the buck!!! Should be grossly fined for allowing this after the countless complaints.
Oh we shall sell you a blocking program ....for a fee of course. Virgin was one of these for $2 a call, after call, after call...

I didn't answer since I didn't know the number and it went stratight to my voice mail.  All I got was the last part of message, which was "to accept, press one".  I assume that the rest of the message started when my voice mail answered the call.

I had a miss call but when i returned the call it says that the number is not in service

Got several calls and did not answer. Could not call this number. This is electronic crime... why are the RCMP not following this up. Too busy having donuts and coffee...

Why do good people die from cancer? Cancer should be reserved for the people that mastermind these scams.

Don't be naive. that only blocks legitimate telemarketers. for the scammers, they use that list as a way to know who to call. If they see a number on that list, they know that it is a real, live person.

Called my cell today...   The phone only rang once and then stopped.   The call display showed this number as a missed call.    I love this 800notes web site..  Now I know it's crap and can put it in my call block list so I never have to see it again.

Received a call on my Virgin phone at 5:03 pm Vancouver, BC time from somewhere in Ontario.  Did not answer and no message was left.

Might be spam and nobody has my # except family and job.
