I too have had this kind of enjoyment.....a few months back I kept a scammer open on the line for almost 2 hours.....I actually took him into the police station with me....and handed him off to the dispatcher...I had to give him credit, he was Patient with me as I pretended to follow all of his instructions while he was scamming me....had him on hold for 10 to 15 minutes twice (GRIN)

Got a call from (906) 469-3254
Houghton, MI.
When I asked to be removed from their database, the guy told me to go f#%k myself.
Do yourself a favor, block this number on your phones.
I am reporting them to the FCC and the BBB and the call center for the FBI. Can't be a legitimate business of any sorts with language like that.

I get cathartic value wasting telemarketers time while commuting. I talked a woman for 22 minutes this morning. We had a very nice cordial conversation until she caught on to my attempt to delay her from scamming more people. She then released her inner-ghetto fury using an extended vocabulary. I rarely have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the uneducated...it is truly entertaining.

Received 17 calls from 8:50 to 8:52 AM this morning. All of them were blocked and the phone didn't ring once... had to actually check the logs to see what calls had been blocked.
[Details]
I run an application for my iphone that allows you to send a busy signal to inbound calls you wish to block. There is an option to just drop the calls, but a busy signal gets some interesting results with the automated caller these companies use. Seems to tie up their lines as the auto dialer tries repeat attempts to reach their target. Keeping the lines busy is where it is at.
The same application will allow you to wild card area codes. Example area code block like 202 .. would block all numbers 202-111-1111 , 202-111-1112, ect ect. I don't care about blocking states where I dont get calls from.
I know that people who run these operations read these forums. Just know I'm resigned to the fact I may have to add all the area codes and create a white list. I'm ok with that. Calling me repeatedly is going to give you a net yield of zero.

Female rep, put me on hold for long time after I provided the initial (fake) number. Amazingly I even had another call from these jerks while I was on the line with them. The call also terminated, and she immediately called back, on a different spoofed number. From there she was on to me, and said I should provide her the "real" account number, not a "fake" number. I asked "You don't want me to give you a fake number?", to which she replied "Of course not, a55hole!".

I tell them they have contacted a private emergency consultation service, that a message to disconnect the call and time limit was already given. There is a $10,000 base charge for the call and ask for THEIR credit card information or it will be billed to thier number. Have yet to recieve a repeat call.

THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.
THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.
RETALIATE:
Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.
After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke.
REDUCE THE MISERY:
Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a free feature many providers offer, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, automatically hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.
Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.
HAVE FUN:
Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.

The card service scammers WILL "service" our credit cards, BUT, when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!
| Tom 2014-04-08 22:33:53 Unknown |
The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

Lower interest rate scam. DNC list will not work. Might as well have fun. After pressing #1 use the following fake info
After you give "her" a fake VISA card number 4627-0519-4328-7147
Fake bank "Bank of Wichita"
Fake Credit Limit $15,000
Fake balance "$5,500"
Fake interest rate "19.5%"
Fake expiration "07/14"
Fake "800" number for bank: "1-800-225-5324" (NATIONAL FBI TOLL-FREE LINE)
"She" tells you to hang-on while she verifies your balance.
Of course you hang up while she calls the FBI !!! :)
If she's really Pi$$ed, you'll get a couple of calls back in short succession which you don't answer.
I had a fun scam call last week you might like. It was a spoofed number with a solar company offering gov't rebates to home owners. I gave them all the fakes and the address for my old apartment. We set an appointment and they were to call a ½ hour before. They called 2 days before - no message. They call again the day before - no message. I waited until 11:30 P.M. to call him back and confirm. The next morning I forgot my phone in the car, but he called 7 times. Finally he left a message saying he was standing in front of my apartment.
I almost felt sad for him...almost.
