Carol, you were scammed, like many others. We are in a suit with Marlin Leasing, and have won the first round in PA where they forced us to go. The question you have to ask is, where was the monthly monitoring fee for the security system, if your payments were going to lease the eqipment? Most people sign the financing agreement thinking that is the agreement for monitoring if the alarm goes off.
But that's the whole thing...there IS no monitoring, it's a scam. Also, these guys may not have been licensed in your state to do business...that was the case with ours and the judge ruled in our favor. We are now suing to get the money back.

PCA Security sucks. I cannot put it any other way. I have been a customer for two 30 months and I can tell everyone with complete confidence...PCA does not care about their customers. They want your contract and that is all.

Really the calls are just the begining to the nightmare I call PCA Security. The real fun starts when the system fails and you want service that was suppose to be free now costs $100. The best thing would be to listen to the sales pitch and then ask to be removed from the call list and hang up. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS with PCA. They, as seen by the responses from the PCA employees, are rude and DO NOT care about the customer at all.

The sales rep in PA disappeared and left us hanging. im not sure what the company can do for you as the promotions we run only last as long as the sales rep is in the area , which is only a day or two. If you call the corporate office @ 1-888-598-5157 (i think) there may be something that can be worked out over the phone. If your still interested give a call and ask for janelle.

ok first . the company didn't change their phone number they have a call center with multiple phone lines do you really think they all have the same number? Whos the moron?? and there is no "do not call list" for buisness owners. sorry but if you own a buisness your phone number is a matter of public information. anyone can get your number and call it. being a business owner how can you be on some list and expect customers to be able to call you. a do not call list cannot recognize telemarketers vs. costomers. dumbass

Right after my business was robbed, PCA Security Telemarketing contacted me so I agreed to see their salesman.  He showed up sort of dishoveled which should have been a warning to me.  He said that he travels around the U.S. selling the equipment for PCA out of his motorhome.  He was a very fast talker and I was apprehensive but reluctantly signed an agreement for their equipment.  He then asked me to sign a very lengthy finance agreement with Marlin Leasing without reading it.  A week later the technician came unprepared to install the equipment on top of our 3 story building and asked if we could hoist him up there with our forklift which was dangerous.  He placed one of the two cameras in a wrong location and refused to correct it so it is useless.  PCA Security refuses to come back to move the camera and Marlin Leasing also refuses to help us and tells us that the buyout on the lease if $ 7,380 for equipment that is not worth more than $1,000.  I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Marlin Leasing is threatening legal action.  Nightmare.

Hello, My name is Aaron and I used to work for this company. I worked for this company for 6 months and in that period of time I witnessed at least 100 employees getting hired, then fired (some of which were fired within the first hour of the first day on the job). I have witnessed my boss' smoking weed in the office, and sexually harassing an employee.

Before this company I was without a job for a year and  half, I needed a job so bad it hurt. Getting a joy to sit on the phone and read 1 sheet of paper and get 7.00 an hour was a dream come true! But now reading these horrible things on the internet I now realize the nightmare it was. Going into the job we did not SEE the security systems OR surveilance cameras, we didn't know what we were doing, selling, or talking about. We were told to read the sheet of paper and if we got to the end or if any questions were asked to say "I am a little new here, let me get someone to help you" (half a year later I was still saying I was new and needed to get help)

I realized quick the only way to stay in the game was to become close to my boss, the buddy system would help me dodge the bad news of being fired. The owners themselves "RONNIE AND ANDREW" are 2 perverted obese people (both addicted to cocaine) that don't care about anything besides money. The best way to describe these 2 characters is, if you watch Deal Or No Deal, "The Banker"....yeah kind of like that... the phone would ring every hour and we never had good news from the other end, we were never told good job, keep it up, ANYTHING. Unstead we were slayed with insults and cut downs from ronnie, andrew, AND our boss.

I don't know how much I can stress that as employees, we don't know it is a scam. I myself was a 18 year old high school drop out that NEEDED a job, I never touched a drug, and do not drink, I AM a good person.. I just didn't know any better. The people I met in my office were a different story, 98% of my fellow co-workers were addicted to at least one drug and had ALL served time in jail. I am not sure if PCA security is still running, but I will help ANYONE who wants more info on this company, I will try to tear this company to the ground and get ronnie and andrew behind bars.

I am sorry to anyone I called and bothered, I am even more sorry to anyone I called and talked into going with PCA security, I know when I worked with the company it was a 5 year contract...I feel for all you.

After reading unpleasant remarks on the internet about this company I am very glad I did not sign a contract with your rep today.  The minute he asked me for my soc num I became very leary.  I then ran a search and look what I find.  Thank God I listened to my instincts.  No way will I do business with people that handle their business with such disregard for their reputation.

What's really interesting is that the few pro PCA replies are so written in the way my former colleagues talk that I think I can guess the identity of most of them. Guys, your not doing yourself any favors by getting on here and using profanity or being vulgar. It just confirms what I always knew when I worked with you. You're not hard working men and women, rather, you're sitting in a chair resting every part of your body except your jaw.

PCA Security markets burglar alarms and camera systems directly to the owners of small to meduium sized businesses. By directly marketing the business owner, they are able to pass along significant savings. PCA will only communicate directly with the business owner. Statistically, the greatest security liability to a business owner are present and former emplyees. When asked by a business owner, PCA Security will gladly stop calling a business. The complaints that are made on this forum, are made by individuals that are not business owners or if they are, they failed to identify themselves as the business owner. The telemarketers that work promoting PCA Security are hard working men and women simply doing their job.

The only calls that are not covered by the National Do Not Call List are: political organizations, charities, phone surveyors, and any company that you have established a business relationship with by placing an order through said company or by other means.

Telemarketers are responsible for removing your phone number from their calling lists within 31 days of you registering your number on the DNC List.

The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment.

Businesses can access the National DNC online at www.telemarketing.donotcall.gov

This is taken directly from the National Do Not Call List website:
https://www.donotcall.gov/faq/faqbusiness.aspx#how
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How will the National Do Not Call Registry work?

Starting January 1, 2005, telemarketers and sellers will be required to search the registry at least once every 31 days and drop from their call lists the phone numbers of consumers who have registered. Through December 31, 2004, telemarketers will have to update their lists every three months. The dedicated, fully automated and secure Web site at www.telemarketing.donotcall.gov will provide this information to telemarketers and sellers.

When an organization accesses the system for the first time, it will have to create a profile and provide some identifying information, such as organization name and address, authorized representative, and the representative's telephone number and email address. If an organization is accessing the registry on behalf of a client-seller, the organization may need to identify the client (or clients).

The only consumer information organizations will be able to access from the national registry is a registrant's telephone number. Consumers' phone numbers will be sorted and available by area code. Each organization accessing the registry data will be required to pay an annual fee based on the number of area codes the company accesses.

On subsequent visits to www.telemarketing.donotcall.gov, organizations will be able to download either a complete updated list of numbers from their selected area codes or a more limited list that shows additions or deletions since the last download.

A consumer who receives a telemarketing call despite being on the registry will be able to file a complaint with the FTC, either online or by calling a toll-free number. Violators could be fined up to $11,000 per incident.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this is pretty clear and as far as I'm concerned soliciters have no excuse to call people who have taken the time to register.  If companies are wasting their money to buy lists with numbers that are registered on the DNC and call them I personally have no problem filing a complaint and hope they get charged the maximum amout of $11,000 every single time.

Dear Fed Up, if you ever do come back here to read responses to your stupid entry, you should consider that this company has been around for a long while now, and while you may have chosen to be obstinant and create a spiralling storm of repeat calls by not asking them to put you on their own Do Not Call list, they know what they are doing. They call THOUSANDS of people a day. The trick is not stroking or fingering FED UP until s/he is in the mood; the trick is to keep calling person after person until an owner is found who was recently robbed, knows someone recently robbed, or just needs to replace an old system--a person who wants to DO IT right now! No one cares that one or even ten individual owners are pissed off. You could have taken the call, identified yourself as an owner, and ended the matter. But you didn't. And you're defiant attitude is tripe. The game is about searching through the thousands to find those are willing and ready RIGHT NOW!

Hello, I work at a PCA Security call center. We are simply calling businesses with a promotional offer to have a security or camera system installed. We are merely working people and are not "dirt bags" or "sleaze bags" as some of you people have ignorantly described us. I think all of you should get a life and also it is perverted that you can so easily dehumanize telemarketers. Maybe it's you who is the real loser for being so scared every time your phone rings. At least we get up every day and go to work...or would you rather have us stay home and collect checks from the state?

Listen, PCA has called my business 9 times in an hour yesterday.  You PCA fools think if you keep calling and badger someone or the owner to set an appointment with you you'll be successful?!  I don't have time nor am I interested.  I am not obligated to listen to anything you say.  I'm not one of the ones complaining about a DNC list.  But don't think if you keep calling you will get an appointment with me.  It's called screening calls and you are not worthy of my time.  You could have the best product in the world, but if you are a nuisance, I'm not gonna hear a thing you say because you already have proven to lack any business sense at all.  I will be filing with the FCC and anywhere else I can as well.

I also need to add that yes there are over 100 phone lines for the marketing part of our company. We aren't trying to be "sneaky" by "using" different numbers to call you. It's just another employee trying to do their job. If we were really trying to be "sneaky" we would block our calls, and not let them be viewed by everyone on their caller ids.

I think the business owners need to read in a little further into the "Do Not Call" lists before they start complaining about it. That list is meant for personal residences only. If your business is ran from your home and is listed as a business number, it is not covered under the DNC list. Business to business calls are allowed. Second we are calling to see if there is an interest in our services and setting appointments for a demonstration if there is. We are not selling anything over the phone, so that also means that is not covered under the DNC list. Yes, we do understand that the calls get annoying, but we do try to reach the owner, since it is their business and their decision if they want it for the company. It is nothing personal against the secretaries or anyone else that we may talk to, but sometimes they just don't really know if that is something that the business owner is interested in or not. And if we call asking for a specific owner, and that one is not available, and you are another owner or spouse, let us know. Like another post said, if you want the calls to stop, listen to the pitch and if you aren't interested say so, or if you are another owner, ask to be put on OUR DNC list. Don't scream at us that you are on the DNC list, it doesn't matter. Most of us won't be rude to you if you are not rude to us. We are just doing a job that we are trained to do. It may not be the best job to do, but at least we are trying to work, and not just screwing the government by living off of tax payers dollars for no reason. So hopefully this will help some people that has problems with our company and make people aware about the limits of the DNC list.

Same story, they keep calling, we keep telling them not to call, we're not interested and that we are on the do not call list. They don't stop. They are calling my 80 year old parents. I WILL be taking care of this. The FCC is interested in these complaints, and with caller ID the calls are documents. They use a different number almost everytime or I could block the call.

Received 3 calls in less than 2 hours from different people who said they would continue to call until they reached the person they were calling for.  Informed them that number was on a DNC list and told them not to call again.  No way we would ever do business with a company as rude as they are.

James, I have asked your company three times to NOT call us anymore, but they refuse to stop.  I consider the behavior of PCA to be harrassment, and there is no chance in heck that our firm will ever use an service or supplies provided by such a company.  If only it were as easy as telling PCA that we are not interested . . . your firm is extremely unprofessional.

It is not as bad as you make it sound. First off they are not deceptive they simply make a sales pitch and set up appointments. The equipment is nice and it is a good deal. Do not get mad at the employees they are just doing their job. And when jobs are few and far between, people will work as a telemarketer to make money. If you do not want their pitch, just tell them you want to be on the DNC list. You can also listen to their whole pitch and when they are done tell them you are not interested. Simple as that.
