Over the past few nights I've received frequent calls from strange numbers that don't respond when I pick up... and I ended up getting a text from this number recently telling me to look go to mobidescription.com

Several of my wife's contacts have gotten texts from this number claiming to be her (my wife), with a link to a website (which I haven't checked). Somehow this spammer knows my wife's name and got access to her contacts, who don't have their numbers available online or anything. Possible for a bot or trojan to raid her contact book or something?
