Just got a call from this number, didn't answer since I was at work,,, didn't recognize the area code so I googled the number, and Low and behold,,, I found all of you!!  thank you for keep everyone posted on this bs

Some company who got my name and number by trolling the job wanted sites a few months back, they refuse to remove my name from their system. They claim the help you get a grant to attend online classes. It's a scam. I have had about 200 phone calls from these people and when you get someone who doesn't hang up on you they pretend like they remove you but tells you that they are not the only company and I may get more calls from them as well as it takes 2 weeks for the request to go thru, speaking of, I just right now gor another call! Infuriating!

This is a total scam.   I use Mr. Number app on the Android to automatically hang up on anyone from this number.

I  have just received a phone call from this number informing me that I have been selected to receive a Government grant of $ 7000. I was given choices of how I would like to receive my money, Master Card, Visa Card, Bank account or cash. I played along and opted for cash. I was given the instructions to go to Western Union where I should deposit $ 310 (refundible) for purpose of verification.

I was also told not to tell anyone about it till the transaction is done. Many desparate people have fallen into this trap. DO NOT BE ONE OF THEM. The government is not giving away any money as a reward for paying your taxes or not having any criminal records. IT IS TOTAL SCAM! This is not the first time they called.

I just a call from man with a heavy accent that said I was entitled to a $7000 grant from the government.  He told me to call another number to have my money released to me within 24hrs.  Oh unless I had a debit card or bank account number.  Makes complete sense that the government is handing out random grants. I am going to use my money to buy a bridge in Brooklyn.

I just got a call from these people saying they were from the us government. It was noisy as heck in the background too. Tried telling me I lived on a different address than I do now. Some afgan women telling me they pulled around 1200 people with no criminal background and payed their taxes on time and that I was one of them and how did I want $7000.00. It was either cash, bank account, or visa. Thinking they would send me a Visa I told her i wanted that. She tried getting me to give her my Visa #!!! F*** her! Scam! Sorry if you worked for the government you would know my age and address without me telling you.

get this number a lot.  have turned it into the do not call people.

I have been getting calls from this phone number saying, I was  selected by the US Government for a grant before they said it was $8400.00, I did ask her questions and she hanged up. a moment ago I had a call from the same phone saying the same but the money is $7000.00. I asked her where she is calling from, she said Washington DC she works for the US government. She hang up after I told her I live in DC and her number is not from DC.

I've recieved numerous calls from these people and I'm on a mission to track all callers down.

I got a call from this call after applying for jobs on Craiglist also.

I just realized I received a call from this number-tried to call it back and it says its a non working number.

I get this call almost every day and multiple times a day.

I get a lot of calls as I am sure I was put on a bunch of spam lists in retaliation by a debt collector from almost 2 yes ago after I lost my job and fell behind. Now I get calls all day from all over the country and found that using Mr Number app free version has cut them and my stress. I also add them to a contact labeled spam collectively so it doesn't count against you when you look them up in the app to block after you Google it first and mark as spam. It works on texts as well. Now I need to get to the do not call list.gov.

Yes now that you said it I did apply for a job via Craigslist and it's the first time this has happened. Call was from Anchorage Alaska and obviously not legit.

Just got a call from these morons on my cell phone (again).  Last week it was a DC number, this week it is a different number and a different SCAM!  I did what I always do when I receive a phone call from someone I don't know on my cell phone, I call my cell company (Sprint) and have them block the number so they can't call me anymore from that particular number.  Its quick to do and it works!  I blocked a number about 2 weeks ago and they did NOT call back from another number.  I hope this helps people that are fed up with these scammers!

Has anyone asked these people questions?  I'm interested how deep it goes.  Maybe it's more than what we think...

I got a call sayn they were from the us goverment an that i qualify for a grant for $7000.... what a scam....

We got a call from this number informing us that we had qualified for a $7000 grant.  I called the state attorney general and FTC and both identified this as a scam.

Got a phone call some foreign person saying I qualified for a grant from the government in the amount of $7,000.00 and if I went to western union and paid the $310.00 fee they would wire me 7310.00 tomorrow I called his bluff and he got upset and I hung up. When have u ever known the government jobs to work on weekends and if your the government why can't u take the fee out of the 7,000.00

YES--ALSO FOUND OUT WHEN YOU SIGN UP FOR LOYALTY CARDS THEY COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK WITH THE PHONE CALLS.  LIKE PREVIOUS CALLERS I JUST LET GO TO VOICE MAIL AND 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THESE BOTTOM FEEDING SCUM SUCKERS DO NOT LEAVE ANY MESSAGE.

I just got the same old call but i let it go to vm and caller did not leave a message coincidentally this happened after I applied with several jobs on Craiglist  with my resume. Did anybody here have the same experience?

Got a call from 907 632 3887. It was a guy who said he worked for the US Government. He said his name was Matthew and he had a strong Afgan accent. US Goverment my a**.  Thay asked for someone named Carol I told them they had the wrong number and he said "B***s***" and hung up i tried calling back but it said the number I had called was not a working number.

Phone caller was claiming to be from the US Government, talked about bankrupcy tried to get us to get a loan with him, we told him we are on the do not call list and he got angry, i tried asking him who he is from again and what the intentions of his call were he yelled in some other language and hung up.

it smells like a Scam to me, traced phone number to a cell phone in Ankorage, Alaska
