Just received a call from 908-251-8775 with New Jersey Call displayed in the Caller ID.  The message indicated it was from one of our credit card companies, however, the company was never identified.  The recording said the purpose was to lower our mortgage interest rate and if interested, please press #.  I did so in order to hopefully identify the caller.  As soon as the woman answered, I asked who the company was they were representing.  She immediately hung up on me.  I then dialed the number back heard the following message.  "The number you have called will rip you off and take your money."  I couldn't have said it better myself.  

The only reason I am posting this, is in an effort to not have vulnerable people taken advantage of.  Please beware of this number...IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!

Just had the same one call me. Very confusing because came up on i'd as nj cell that calls here all the time. I answered and it was a recording for my credit card company. Everytime I hung up and tried to dial out it was the same recording playing, and then went to a lady who was asking me about my card. I hung up and dialed the number and got a creepy recording of a woman yelling this number you have called will rip you off...etc.  Creepy. What should I do?

I just had this caller as well!!  Posted the number on Facebook and hope there lines get so plugged up that it fries the phone.  There is good fun and there is malicious!!  This person or persons need to see jail time.

So strange! Called back this missed call and a female with a fake southern accent says the following recording: "Hi. This company will rip you off! So please leave your name & phone number and we will be sure to take all your money! Have a nice day!"

I got the same message I pressed 9 and then ask who they were and he got huffy and I said you are not getting any info from me then I called him a not so nice name. He yelled at me and hung up. I calle the number and got the same message about being ripped off. I guess I am one they are not ripping off and letting have my money.These people need to get a life.

got called b this number 9082518775 checked here saw the comments and blocked the call on m HTC Hero with a free app, no pain, no cost that's the advantage of technology, I never answer unknown numbers or numbers I don't recognize check on the Internet and go from there

I missed a call from this number.

when I called this number back, I got a bizarre recording that "if you call this number, we will scam you out of your money".   What's up with that.

I tried calling this number back, late at night, and got a message on an answering machine of some type that states in a female voice, "This call is to rip you off, please leave your name and number so we can call back and take your money". I don't know what is going on with it, but very much a major scam.

Just got a call from 908-251-8775, (wireless caller) they hung up when I answered, called them back - womans voice recording said company (no name) was going to rip me off have a nice day.  Something about no  messages can be left.  Called local law enforcement to notify, they are well aware, they mostly want to prey on an innocent victim to gather credit card and other personal information.  Law enforcement indicated many area codes are from Las Vegas rather than New Jersey, however, the callers can be from anywhere, including international such as Canada etc.  Be wary....   There are so many predators out there.

Just got the call a minute ago. Only called to tell them to remove me from their list and got the same message. Somebody should take care of this idiot (these idiots) because I am sure they are benefiting by getting your name and phone number. They may be able to track addresses this way too. I knew it was BS because I do not have a credit card and have not had one for years. Sadly, I am sure they are taking advantage of somebody.

Just got a call from the same idiot as everyone else....There lucky I didnt speak to anyone live...I will show them Im going to rip you off...For real people get a friggin real job like the rest of us..They are targeting everyone of all ages not just the ederly...Im only 40..

I just received a call from this number, Wireless Call 908-251-8775, Nov 18th, 7pm.  I answered but no one was there.  I called the number back and received the same message that this company is going to rip you off...hung up before completion of message.  A BIG Scam for sure.  Does anyone know if these calls are costing us anything for returning the call?

Just received a call from this number.  I didn't recognize it, so didn't answer.  They left no message.  I Googled the area code:  New Jersey.

if you have caller ID and see this number come across; answer but do not talk, not a sound and nothing in your background going on, not even the TV.
Rapidly and repeatedly push the '*' - it may trick their auto-dialer for a couple of months. We have two lines - one personal and one business. Since we don't have a phone on the business line that provides the ID (yet), we get a lot more SPAM/SCAM calls on that line verse our home line. Just an idea that I thought some might like to try.

I got that exact message yesterday.

called yesterday while i was out.  i called back and got the same message about it being a company that is going to rip me off.

Hang up caller, I'm also on the D.N.C. list.

Their message was: We are a co. to reap you off, give me your name and number and we will reap you off.
Please indentify who is doing that.

I just got a call from 908-251-8775 and I pressed "9" to speak to a live operator so I could have my number removed. I was placed on hold but I hung up and called them back and I got the "This comany is going to rip you off" message. I thought that was pretty funny.

Same as what others are saying...I'm in my thirties, so these people are targeting us all. I just received a call from this number a few minutes ago (11-16-10, 11:00 a.m. I called them back to have my name removed and the idiot I spoke with actually thought I would give him my banking information.  This scam is a scary one for those who don't know any better.  BEWARE!!

Just got the call and hung up on telemarketer who said I hit 9 when I was trying to dial out. I scrolled and dialed the number since it said nj cell and that's what my friends number comes up as. Heard recording saying going to rip me off etc. Is this just a scam to get info or should I be worried they already have my info?

WOW...I know better not to give out any info.  What's funny is I don't even have a credit card!  Slimey  slimeballs to say the least.  How do they get away with this?

I noticed that I got a call from this number at my home (on my caller ID) this morning while I was at work.  When I called back tonight (at 11:10 pm) I got a recording in a woman's voice (with a southern accent) stating:

"Hi, this call is to rip you off... so please leave your name and phone number and we'll be sure to take all your money as best way we can because this company is going to rip you off.  Have a nice day."
