Same as mentioned by others except mine's name was Ethan Felsteag, I got very suspicious when they wanted to access my p.c. from a distance to clean corrupted files.

Sounds like Indian, claims that he works for "Microsoft Windows", adamant that I go to my computer, turn it on so he can fix my problem that was reported to them. Call display shows his number as 052650227, but he says I can call him back at (908) 368-4937 when I am ready to have "my problem" solved.

Got a call from guys with east indian accent, Frank Smith, who asked me some questions about my windows operating system, claiming to be from microsoft support and they had been notified of a problem with my pc. I checked a few settings with him, did no change anything and was vague in my responses as I wanted to find out what these guys were after. He then transferred me to his supervisor, Anthony who said he would help to fix my problem and said I needed to open internet explorer and go to www.teamviewer.com, which is software to access your computer (a free online tool anyone could use). I doubt Microsoft would use this?? I also mentioned I could not complete his test now and could I phone back the next day when it was more convenient and when he insisted it had to be done today, it was the scammers give away but he did give me a call back number of 908 368 4937. They come across very technical and seem to let you see where there are error logs in your computer and seem official.

A guy with a heavy East Indian accent who said his name was Frank Smith just called me with the same story-I was pretty sure that it was a scam so good to know I was right.

Definitely a scam. There's no way they can get your phone number from your computer unless they go through your ISP. Your ISP would only release details under a subpeona or to law enforcement agencies.
It's fun to break their script . . . the so called operators can't answer basic technical questions. Every time you tell them something that they can't handle they just hang up. Haven't found a way to get them to stop calling yet.

A man with an Indian voice called asking to speak to my husband or me, stating that he was working for Windows 7 and that he wanted me to turn on our computer because for the past two weeks they have been getting signals from our computer that there was something wrong. When I questioned him again as to who he was and which Co. he was working for he said, Microsoft but quickly insisted that he wanted me to go to our computer. I insisted on him telling me which company he was calling on behalf of and he reluctantly said, "Universal Support". I asked for the telephone number and he gave me, 908 368 4937. Once I got this, I told him that I had no intentions of going to my computer and that I will be checking him out. I then hung up on him. I then Googled, "Where is area code 908?" and I am delighted that my detective work paid off. Thank you ever so much for helping to prove me right!

"Jack" just called me, saying he was from my computer maintenance department. I live in Manitoba. He was very reluctant to give me his phone number and kept repeating that he would be calling me back.

I got a call from a guy named "Jack" with an Asian accent, might've been a fake one. Wanted me to open files on my computer and run files, got suspicious asked him to call back so I could have time to verify with Microsoft (whom he said he was working with) to see if he was legitimate...and he wasn't he was trying to steal my information. Anyways be careful, they're getting our phone numbers and knowing our names now, not just email scams anymore, you can talk to them the little f*ckers!
