Nasty man calling constantly.  Must be a scam.

Called several times asking for a donation for a police department.

Called on Saturday afternoon and hung up before leaving a message.

A man left a message from this number. I think he thought someone had picked up the phone when my machine answered it and that's the only reason he started talking. I have my machine set to answer on the 4th ring. Yesterday another call came in from this number and they hung up on the 3rd ring....

same call with some idiot on the other end you called him crass.  told him I donate to police PAL league and that is it.  He insisted to get me to donate.  Even though I refused he sent a promise note to me for $50. that I had so-called pledged .....which never happened...... thrashed it

The reason you have to say hello several times -- or just not get anyone on the line -- is because they are using an auto-dialing program that dials multiple numbers at a time.  They speak with the first person who answers and call back all the subsequent people later.  This is why, if you answer at all, they will call back.  

The best thing to do is not answer, ever.

I just got a call from the same source, they said they are from the NJ POLICE or STATE POLICE FUNDS asking for a donation of $25-$45. This man is very persistent of asking for a donation and he also told me that they will be mailing the envelope to my house for a donation. First of all I think that the Police Dept will ever do any solicitation over the phone, buttom line is Police will never ever ask for donation. This is a "SCAM" people. I just told them that I am not working so I can't donate anything. Then he hung up! I search for this phone number online and it seems like it is coming from Belle Meade NJ. You know what's so wierd about it is that I recieved a call from the same voice but a different company who was also soliciting.

I was told the same. I believe sometime back, a letter or news article indicated such and NOT to donate. I do NOT donate over the phone or answer surveys.  Gee, if I don't recognize the number---I don't answer.

I received a call at 9:25 AM on Thursday, March 15, 2012.  I was not home so the answering machine just recorded the call (because they don't leave a message).  I have gotten calls from this number in the past.  Once I answered and had to say 'hello' several times because the person actually spoke to me.  He identified himself as having to do with the State Police and wanted to send decals for my car window if I made a donation.  I advised him that I was told by a police officer that I receive many calls from this number (and I read him the number) and the police officer advised me that the police departments and the state police NEVER solicit for donations over the phone.  He hung up.  Of course, it doesnt stop them from calling me again.  They seem to rotate their calls.  Months will go by without a call and then I will get a call every day for 2 weeks straight.

It's some "NJ police fund" asking for donations. Didn't answer at first so I had to sit there and say "hello, hello" into the phone for 30 seconds before he's like "HELLO!" (probably shocked someone answered) They will send you decals for your car if you send them money. The man on the phone was very crass in his manor of asking for said donation so I hung up on him. I like how they disguise their organization behind a number which looks like any other ordinary cell phone call. Stop harassing people if I wanted to donate to the police I would walk a check to the local police department and hand it to them myself this way I know where the money is going. I don't trust these people.
