Yes, I got the same message as everyone else on 01/24/10 at 8:48:51pm. I tried to call the number back, it said it was unavailable. I have not had a Wachovia account in over 6 years and would never get another. Why don't these people do something good, like find a way to get rid of Osama bin Laden or to stimulate the ecomony the correct way in this country, to get people back to work. I wished I had nothing to do in life except to come up with schemes, not that I would scheme people but I have ideas and plans I want to implement but I do not have to time to do so.

The exclamation point at the end really doesn't help their case of making this look official.

I got the same message...unfortunately yesterday I went to a Wachovia ATM to find someone else's ATM card in the ATM machine so I called and reported that and they closed that person's account. I was asked to leave the card next to the ATM. So when I got this text imagine the coincidence - I rushed to get my card to see if the 4828XX number was mine..it wasnt....in thought ohh maybe it was the other guys card but I wondered why I got a text? MAybe it cos i used my cell to call and report it!! Well then I dialed *67 and called the number in the text...all is asks for is to enter your card number...i hit 0 twice for a rep but it didnt go thru...so I knew something was wrong...i googled and this site was the first hit..thanks :)

I got the same text & so did my son! I called the number thinking that it was a fraud & the recorded message said they would need add'l in to UNLOCK my card. I then called Wachovia's 1-800 number & the confirmed that this is a FRAUD SCHEME!!! 1000'S of their customers as well as people who don't have a Wachovia account have gotten these as well as emails! BEWARE THAT YOU DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR "ADDITIONAL" INFO & Pls. warn any senior's (mom, dad, grama, etc) about this as they are even more vulnerable to schemes!
| KBarbs 2010-01-25 00:21:00 Unknown |
I just got the same thing... weird stuff. Who could have sent this?
| Blue Knight 2010-01-25 00:13:10 Unknown |
Wow. I love technology. although these creeps have the same resource. I have a 4828xx wachovia account. but I did not call. I use to work as a phone rep for a credit card company. Whenever there is a suspicious email or call or text message as in this case, call customer service - not the number sent to you.
