Thanx for the info on the Do Not Call List. I am also registered and can't understand how they got my #. I never give my home # out to anyone. I called the # today after two calls from them in the last 4 days and guess what? the # says it is out of service.

Just got one at my Toronto home. I inquired about the 908 area code and he repeated his opening line re: Canadian financial services. Wouldn't answer, then hung up on his own.

Yes, these sneaky buggers have changed their area code from 905 to 908.  I just called
Rogers, my phone provider and they told me to contact "The Do Not Call List" company.
I am registered with them and can't figure out how these nasty creeps keep getting thru.
The reason I say nasty, is that they are sooooo rude.
Anyway, the phone number for the Canadian "Do Not Call List" is 1-866-580-3625 and their web site is (make sure you use the upper case & lower case as shown).

I just filed a verbal report with them.  They will have a special branch put an end to these guys.  

First they have a computer dialing your number with no one on the line.  They use this type of strategy to monitor your home habits, then they get a live person to call you.  CREEPY, VERY CREEPY!

I hope that this helps those of you that live in Canada and are still pestered by these guys.

As soon as the man said the company name, I hung up.  This number will be added to the Canadian no-call database.

Have gotten 2 calls so far from this company... 1 about a month ago, and one just now... I had asked them about a month ago to take me off the list, however, they don't seem to care about that. What the hell happened to the government regulated "do not call list"????

Just got a call from this "company". I was told the woman was calling from Canadian Financial Services and wondered if I had a mortgage against the property. I told her I dont ever talk to anyone unless I can call them back and that the caller ID reveals more than "Unknown Caller". When I asked why she was calling from New Jersey (being that they are a Canadian comapny) she hung up. Watch out for these guys.

Had this guy call me about interest rates. Said he was calling from Canada Financial Services. Told him he was a scammer and I need his address and phone number to report him to police. Guess what!

He never stopped talking.

Just went on about how I should talk to a loan officer, how they were from Markham ON, how they had a web site - it went on and on for almost 15 minutes. I kept calling him a scammer and a lier but he wouldn't give up.

Finally he told me he was busy and hungup.

I have a business phone and a house phone. Both rang at same time (3 times in 1 day) when I answered 1 phone nobody was on the line and other line stopped ringing.
I am reporting them.
