They know my name, asked if it was me, when I confirmed they hanged up! Are they hackers?

I have to wonder if they're just scoping out houses that don't have anyone home in order to have an easier target for burglarizing. After all, why in the heck would they hang up when the phone is answered (they did this to me this morning).

I keep getting these unwanted phone calls, I have already told then I am not interested since I have already remodeled my in the last couple years. They keep calling with sometimes they don't say anything other times they ask for me by name. Based on the comments by others these guys are not going to stop till the government shuts them down. REPORT THEM TO THE FCC!!!

I keep getting calls from this number and also other random numbers.

Received a call on my voicemail from this number.  The woman stated in the message that she represented a rental agency said I could not pickup my money per the timeline they placed in the contract.  I think these people are running some type of scam where they give people so much of a run around and double talk that they never return the money.

this place is driving me crazy with their hang up calls.  I spoke to someone before and they are some home improvement type company.  I asked them not to call anymore...NICELY..... but they still do.  I filed a complaint the other day after the last call.  if you are registered with the do not call registry,file a complaint on that website.  if you have times and dates this place called, that is good, and make sure you note that in the complaint.  Hopefully if enough people do complain,we can stop these annoying calls!

I just got a hang up call from them today.  Its not the first time they have called. We are on the do not call list, but these SOB's still keep calling.  Usually they would call, and when u answer, they hang up. A couple of other times they would ask for us by name, and say they did home improvements of some sort.  We asked them to remove us from their calling list, but they keep calling anyways!  I would report them to the ftc, especially if they left that message on your phone.

I too have gotten a lot of calls, either hang ups or construction company.  Just got home and this time they left me a msg on my machine. "F***ing VM all the time man"!, Saved it to let my hubby hear.  I tried to recall the number, but nothing seems to happen...what to do?

Rec'd several calls--Today the person from this number let this msg on my answering machine "If you don't answer the phone be prepared to receive a thousand calls"--Really!

CALLS 2 OR 3 TIMES A DAY ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE

I am receiving these calls daily from some "home improvement" company in Highland, CA.  I have asked them to remove me from their calling list 10+ times, but they keep calling.  I am now getting confrontational with them and they just hang up on me before I can finish speaking.  I will report to FCC if they call again.

They initially called us, stating they were "Superior Home Construction," and, due to the dearth of new homes being built, were seeking remodeling jobs, roofing jobs, etc. We initially scheduled a time for a free estimate on a job, but the frequent calls we got 'confirming' the appointment multiple times made us feel odd and convinced us that we were dealing with a disingenuous or incompetent company.  We cancelled the appointment, and they continue to call us almost daily.  One man, claiming to be the owner, seemed sympathetic when we explained why we weren't interested in any services from their company, but we have since received other calls, though it seems that whoever calls is hanging up after two or three rings now.

the fact there is no such prefix as 162 should tell you something

This call was from a gentleman who called himself "Mark Jones," for Superior Home Construction.  He said that the company's State Contractors license and local business license numbers would be on the website.  CLSB doesn't list such a company, and I couldn't locate a website either.

The call is from a home improvement company.  Why have a technician in your area, they call daily.

I get a call from this number almost daily and caller ID shows it as "out of area" even though its in my area code.  The first few times I answered it basically hung up on me.  Finally last week I got a guy on the phone.  He asked for my husband.  I stated he wasnt home and asked them to remove our number.  He proceeded to ask me if we needed any home improvements I said no and that we would not consider this company even if we did due to their dialing practices and to remove us from the list he then hung up on me.  Since that time they have called 5 more times.  I have filed an official complaint with the FCC.

I get calls from 909-162-4472 at all different hours. Nobody talks if I answer and no messages get left if I don't; very frustrating! When I call back I get a recording (after waiting some time) saying that my long distance provider can't connect me to the number, yet I have free nationwide long distance, and the number originates from the next county over!

I called the number in Victor's post above (866-789-8808), and they found a debt account in someone else's name with my number. The wowan removed my number from the account, and claims the calls should stop within 24 hours; we'll see!

Surpised they left a message "Mr. S are you there?" and then hung up

4 calls in last two days.  They say they are a contractor working in my area. I am trying to keep them on the phone as long as I can.  If they are talking to me they can't be talking to some one else and I am not buying any thing.  Maybe if a few more people do the same we can make it too expensive to call.
