i also posted on careerbuilder and applied for a posting to mr castaneda, actually the post said his name was oscar casteneda
the call goes to farmers insurance as an insurance agent position, when i called they said oscar was not there and since i mentioned it was in regards to my resume they said probably a recruiter called me. so i spoke with a lady and she did say she was from farmers insurance, 909-605-0300 was the call #
i googled the number and it came up as farmers insurance and oscar castaneda was identified as a district manager.

Received the same message again this time by a person called Joe Joe but interestingly enough, he sounded just like Mr. Canada! Did not leave the name of the company which to me is always dubious and questionable and to which I would not ever respond.

I had a similar call today from JoJo at 909-342-8966. He asked me to also come in at 9AM tomorrow to the same address that all have stated above. I asked to reschedule on Monday. He would never say what the name of the company or what the job was but also asked if I would keep an open mind about a new opportunity. He also said that his bosses discovered my resume on career builder. I am so glad I decided to google the address. Thanks for the heads up to all.

My call came from 310-465-3933 from someone named Anahi.  Also very vague about name of company but just kept saying they were affiliated with Transamerica.  She actually texted me the 20955 Pathfinder address.  When I got home I googled to see what was at that location and found all of your comments.

I will be replying demanding that my number be removed from their list and they cease contacting me.  THIS is why I hate the NEW online job application process!!!!!  Reputable employers need to return to personal calls and greetings and reading resumes or applications themselves!

Enter to the governor web site and send him an email in regards this famous Canada or Castaneda. I just did it. and I also reply to most of this complains. Hi Brooke, brooke.taylor@gov.ca.gov

I got a phone call from a guy under the name of Mr. Canada yesterday stating that he saw my resume and wants me to schedule me for an interview late at 7 p.m. at 3281 East Guasi Rd. Seven Floor Ste. 708 Ontario Ca.

Mr. Canada told me to call at 6 p.m. and talk to his secretary to let her know I will be there at 7 p.m.
I called at: 909-342-8966 but he called me from 909-330-1010. There was no message in regards what name this company or business has, so I goggle it and guess what? See for your self.
http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/9092820256/8

scroll down and read this on the page. I received a phone call from a Mr. Canada phone number 909-342-8966 at about 4:30 PM on a Saturday night. He left a voice message, telling me that he has reviewed my resume on CB and would like to set up an interview with me as soon as possible.  I tried returning his call several times and never reaching him, only his voice mail. I was finally able to reach him and unfortunately we did not have much time to discuss the position as he had stated. I could hardly understand his VM message that he left me so I had to listen to the envelope for a time stamp and a repeat of the number from the VM system. He told me that the job had to do with middle management working with Fortune 500 companies in the financial field. He couldn't remember my background and asked me some questions on what industry I currently am working in and if I would be career open minded. He also asked me if my salary from my past employers was $85 - $90k, at this point I knew this was a scam  He also requested that I show up for a interview at 20955 Pathfinder, Suite 201, Diamond Bar CA. 91765 at 11:00 AM sharp and that I would need to bring 2 copies of my resume, 5 personal references and my ID. This is another way to get more numbers and names to call and scam them.  Thanks for the information, since I was almost going to show up for this interview. This thread just saved me time and gas money I wish these people would not try and scam people that truly need jobs.

I went to the interview and Mr. Canada refused to provide me a business card and the name of the business and all he wanted is to make an investment of $100.00 to start working on a 1099. How can I find out what is the name of this famous business and how legitimate the business is because other guy provided me a business card with the name of WFG, Ronald Atiba with address being at: 1265 Corona Point Ct. Ste 115-15, Corona, CA 92879 and 113 Johns Creek Pkwy, John Creek, GA 30097 with phone number 779-453-9300.

It was hard to left this office because he almost got me hostage until I told him I was dialing 911. See what you can do.

Received the same exact message from the same exact person, Mr. Canada. I did not answer the call and it just went to voicemail. I guessed it was a scam right away as the message was very vague. I do not answer unknown numbers and or calls with vague messages. However your post was very helpful and confirmed my suspicion. Thank you.

I also have fallen into this "scheme". I recieved a call from Mari Lee (she pronounces it Mare) from 714-655-5738. She said she reviewed my resume on Careerbuilder and was impressed with my credentials. She asked me if I had ever heard of Transamerica. I replied that I was unsure. She explained that if i knew the big building in San Fransisco and I said oh yeah. Now I know! She wanted to set up an interview for possible employment. Unfortunatley, I agreed and was asked to bring a copy of my resume and 3 references (probably to contact them to get them involved in the "scheme"). I offerered to email her my resume so she could have it but she declined and stated to simply bring one, as she wanted to write on it. I agreed and was given the address of 9431 Haven Ave, in Ontario, Ca., 91730. Upon arriving at the business complex, I went to the reception desk and stated I had an appointment with Mari at Transamerica. Mari soon came down and we rode the elevator to the second floor. We walked down the hall to a locked, one room office, where we conducted our "interview". What a joke. She circled my managerial experience on my resume, as she discussed what a wonderful company Transamerica was. and then it was put to the side. She then proceeeded to draw on a blank piece of paper, using a used, black sharpie, how they go about their business of making money and how I could make money. After the presentation (all hand drawn) I stated (not to be rude) that i would have to think about it and asked if she any literature on what she presented me. I was given a black and white photocopied paper with websites to visit. She wrote her name and phone number on the paper and with a previous set up meeting with all other candidates for next week. How stupid does this women think I am? I wont be attending but maybe the Bunko squad should!

Got a call last Tuesday from "Janet" (310-621-8006) who claimed she found my resume and was very impressed. Asked me to come in the following Monday at 2pm. She gave me 20955 Pathfinder Rd., #201,  Diamond Bar, CA 91765 as her address. She asked me if I had a salary range of $80-$90K and had previous management experience. When I asked her to explain what the job would entail, she said it was a middle management position and to "bring a list of about 5 questions to your interview and we'll be sure to answer them all at that time." She used the company name "Transamerica" as their affiliate, but did not give her company name. I was trying to look up more information about the company to prepare for my interview and found this thread of other victims. Thanks everyone for saving my time and gas! :)
