Received a call from 909-387-1044 but didn't answer it. I don't know anyone with that number. Came online to check the number out and see others have gotten a call from them or a digit close to it (1049 in lieu of 1044). If it is a credit card scam the joke is on them as I have no credit card so no rates to lower. Going by another's post if they wouldn't tell who they were calling for or from then it is a pure scam.

I received a call around 8:30 this morning with an automated message concerning my credit card debt and lowering my interest rates. I pressed one to speak to a live operator and the man on the other end spoke with an Indian accent and asked me for my credit card expiration and number. I gave him a fake number to verify and while doing so he handed the phone over to his "supervisor" who said his name was Jack Larson. Jack asked me for my zip code and I gave him a fake one in which he said it did not match the area code of my phone number and hung up on me. Further research has a telemarketing firm called Larson Financial in Colorado that has a Jack Larson who is no stranger to telemarketing scams. This possibly could have been him. 909.387.1044 is a scam either way. Do not give out any personal information or you will lose money to fraud!
I'm a B!tch, according to them 2014-05-20 23:27:17 Unknown
I received a recorded message, than was transferred to a live person to "lower my cc interest rate". When I asked how they got my number, he said from me. I said no you didn't. He said, "Yes we did, you have a Visa right?" No I do not. Mastercard? No. So how did you get my number? His answer was "from a contact information list". I said you guys are scammers, at which he responded "You are a b!tch". I replied, "Yes I am!" He hung up. haha, if not falling for a scam makes me a b, then I wear it proudly. People beware of who you provide information to. If your CCard company wants to lower your interest rate, they will do so by mail on official letterhead or email, they will not call you over the phone. These ppl keep scamming others, because it works.

I always answer just to waste their time...it's amusing that they can't find a real job.

I believe this is a scam! I reported a complaint about this number to the National Do Not Call Registry. I suggest you do the same. They will investigate if they have more complaints about the same phone number calling people. www.donotcall.gov

The call came from San Bernardino, CA. The recording said, "Hi this is Heather from your credit card company. Don't worry. There's nothing wrong with your credit card. I'm calling because there's a special offer that could lower your credit card APR to as low as 6%, but you have to act now if you want to get this special offer, because this is your final notice. Push 1 to get this offer. Press 2 and we won't call you again." I pressed 1 (not thinking!) and the call disconnected. Then I thought... Uh Oh, this is a scam!

This is the 2nd time I've received a call from this number. I did not answer either, and will block it now.

Received call from Credit Card Services. Recording from Heather who said I could reduce my interest rate.
Press 1 for more information. They hung up. So tired of these calls. It's my second one today and it's not even noon.

"This is Heather at Account Services...." Caller ID says San Bernardino.

If you answer the call, the system "knows" you are a person and will continue to call.
Just block it if you can.

Received a call from 1-909-387-1044 on my cell phone @ 9:48 A.M. this morning - was driving and had my phone on silent mode. When I went to retrieve my calls and called back this number, a beeping sound came on
as if they were on another call.
Called again when I returned home and received the same "response".
Don't have a clue how they got my cell# - I never give it out except to friends ??

Miguel 2014-05-20 14:59:53 Unknown
Tell-tale signs it's a scam:
- Automated call
- They do not identify card or issuing bank
- Holds out the bait of lowering your interest rate
Most likely an attempt to get random targets to give up their credit card info
I hung up and blocked.
The government ought to create a central database for such calls and mandate telecom companies give a one-button means of reporting suspected scammers. They should then investigate and prosecute the most egregious violators. They should also mandate the telecom companies suspend suspect accounts immediately once they reach a specified tipping point.

When I called back, it just rang and rang. No answer. No machine or voicemail.

Called and left no message. Came up as San Bernadino. I was on another line so I didn't answer. Glad I didn't.

I've received 3 calls from this number, the first one was a woman claiming to be a banker. The next 2 calls were hangup's when I answered, there is no answer at call-back, and it doesn't go to voicemail or message center.
Willdav713 2014-02-08 00:09:38 Unknown
I forwarded all 909 area code calls to Senator Barbara Boxer's office. I might just forward them over to Representative Waxman's office.

I never placed my real phone number down on any credit card applications. I always gave out a WATS line, and it never gets called by those thugs. They always call the numbers registered on the Do Not Call Registry. They never call the numbers that are not on the Do Not Call registry. I know this for a fact. Because the numbers that I didn't sign up under the Do Not Call list don't get called. Our Commander in Chief will just label this one is a phony scandal.
Michigan 2014-02-04 04:21:51 Unknown
Got the call @ 9:24 AM 2/3/14. Didn't answer, blocked.
el 2014-02-03 22:45:37 Unknown
This phone number called and it registered as from the Pomona area. I tried calling back from work and machine answers saying it is busy then hangs up.
Michaela 2014-02-03 19:07:14 Unknown
The Do Not Call list seems to be part of the problem. I have some numbers on the list and am still getting calls. Thanks to Verizon's Do Not Disturb option, only the numbers that are on my allow list can call through. My iPhone can block, so if they call there, they get blocked.

I received a call from this number on my Google Voice number, on 1/31. I just noticed it now. Thank god that I can block that number.
