They just called my cell phone and I called back.  A woman answered the phone and said it's HSC personal loans and mortgage.  I do have a account with HSBC but not HSC.  I haven't applied for any personal loans or new mortgages.  This isn't a debt collector, not sure if someone is just spoofing the number and making it look like another business or if they are actually trying to phish for information.  She asked me if I had account number with HSC, the first part of the message said HSBC, but the lady said HSC.  I wasn't giving them my card number..  They may just be phishing for any information they can get.  You would be surprised how many people just reply and give them their account information.

The keep calling every 30 mins after the first call they will not say who they are and what they want or who!

I get calls on 2 different phones constantly (30 seconds apart). Caller ID identifys them as HSBC.
What a bunch of A**Holes. Vultures on a feeding frenzy. I get about 20 calls a day from this company using 33-5 different numbers

The caller asked for a person in our company directory... after a 1+1/2 min conversation, the caller says that she must advise me that the call is recorded.... is it legal to say that at the END of the conversation?

This company is HSBC/Beneficial. When I called the number back all I got was a phone tree that I couldn't escape.  I have no business with this company...  I dunno why they're calling.

they called on a sundaymorning about 7:30 am. The law states no calls before 8:00am.

they call and don't say a word. They just call every hour on the hour

They call me everyday at least 4 times a day at work and on the cell phone.
I do have a loan with them and boy was that a huge mistake!!!!! My husband has been unemployed since June and I have told them numerous times that I cannot pay and that they need to take the collateral that backs up the loan.
They won't do it because now they say it is not going to be worth enough to pay out the loan???? Why file the lien then? This place is ridiculous!!
Wish I had enough money to file bankruptcy today. I would do it just to get rid of them!!!

I was going through all these comments but discovered that I have a different experience from all of you. I applied for a teller job at HSBC earlier and I received this call as a first interview. The person who called me was a recruiter. I only got the call once...just a normal call...none of the crazy things like calling 33 times in 4 days or no one speaking when you answer the phone, etc.

Maybe HSBC transferred this number from the debt collection dept to HR??

I filed bankruptcy about 2 weeks ago and I am  protected by an automatic stay.  They have just broken the law by calling me and I could and should report them.  If they call again, I will report it to my lawyer.

Have been calling me and asking for Kristina Glass over and over again even after I have told them that they have the wrong number. Somehow got my girlfriend's work number and called her three times this week.

These people call all the time and I do not know who they are. But, reading this web site has made me think it is HSBC and I do not have an account with them. I have never had an account with them so, why are they calling me ten times a day on my cell phone. These people need to have their business practices looked at by the BBB and maybe a State Attorney General because there are a lot of people here with the same problem. Even If you have not paid your bill they still should not be allowed to call you so many times. Only once a week is enough to know what your circumstance is. This is by definition harassment and it needs to be addressed by our law makers! Even if you owe them money does not give them the right to continually call you.

OMG I'm going insane with these calls.  They are calling me for Leonard?  I try to call back and say hey no one here but their system just hangs up on me.  I know house phones have a feature where you can block callers but I don't think cell phones do.  I don't even have an account with HSBC.

These ppl have called 33 times in 4 dys!!! Even on Saturdays and Sundays!!! They have been calling every day for over a month!  Can't they get the hint?!?!  Isn't this harrassment? Maybe I should start calling them 7-8 times a day!

I agree - one call a day is enough but they constantly call and there is an 1800 number they call from too - its very annoying and distracting .. I don't even answer anymore .....

From reading the previous information provided on this page, I believe I got some sort of personal call from an HSBC employee. The message faded in, so it may have been longer. This is the quote, more or less...

"People know when you're calling so they won't answer the phone, so you catch them when they least expect it, then... if, you know, that's how you get 'em, and then you just get 'em to do what you need them to do."

This probably raises more questions than answers them, but it still could be a look into their shady business practices.

I heard it was illegal for any collector to call your cell phone and talk to you while you are driving in your car. I just tell them I am out driving in my car and that I have to hang up. I really like Irratated's suggestion, including not to let them make you crazy. There is a difference in not paying your bill and not being able to pay your bill. I don't think collectors care.

I do not have an account or loan from this bank so I do not know why they are calling my number.  when I answer, a recorded voice tells me that I should hang on to speak with somebody.  I did not generate a call to this number so why should I hang on?  If a person was on the other end of the phone when I picked up I would be able to tell them.

this one is annoying because they keep calling and it is really early when they call.  the last one was at 8 am on a sunday

These persons call about 20 times a day everyday.

I don't know who they are looking for.

they call me at 7:00am until 8:00pm everyday at least 7 times a day they say nothing or ask for some name(different every time)

They call my cell phone everyday twice a day when I'm at work. The few times I have been able to answer my phone they ask for Lucia. There is no one in my household with that name and I've asked them repeatedly to take my name out of their system and yet they still call everyday twice a day.
