This number is routed thru Global Tel Link, which is a legitimate company that sets up prepaid accounts for inmates to use
so they don't have to call out collect. Unless you know for a fact that someone you know (and want to pay for their phone calls) is in jail, then more than likely an inmate is dialing random numbers hoping someone will think it's a family member or friend and set up an account. Once you do that, you can't get your money back and you have no control over it. There is,
as previously stated, two options to block these calls from ALL phones at the end of the pre-recorded message. Keep in mind, if a family member or friend does go to jail, they can still call collect directly, just like always.

No........it is a collect call from someone who is in jail wanting to get through to you.
You really should answer it. It definitely not a scam.

This is from a person that's in jail and if you pick up the phone it gives you an option to block any further call by pressing I believe 7 and it will stop them. It could be someone you know or someone is mixed up on the number they are calling but please just answer and block it and you won't receive another call. Blessings and how this helps!

I have started getting these calls as well and can't block them on my iPhone! Don't know how to make it stop?? How long did it continue to those of you that have dealt with this too???

Says it is a detention center. A recorded name (that conveniently can't be made out) has called collect at least 30 times in 2 days. They called last night at about 8:50p.m.Continuously up until 9:30 last night. They call about 4 times in a row then wait about 10 minutes and call with another set of four calls right in a row. They have already been calling today. I would really like to know if this is some sort scam.
