Called these guys back at the 1800 number they gave... They said 2 felony charges are being filed against me for bad checks. When I ask for specifics they start calling me names. I asked for contact info for the original debt they refuse and say the court has a no contact order.. WHAT??? They are SCUM and disgusting...I filed a complaint with the FTC and encourage you all to do the same! It is AGAINST THE LAW for them to threaten you with jail, they can sue you but can't jail you over a debt!

Debt Collector
I keep receiving calls from LRG for someone named Richard Grant about a returned bank transaction. I called the number back to have my number removed and was told very rudely that they would not remove my number because they received it as a good number for this person by the state but could not give me a name or a number to a state agency that I could report the mistake. They also told me if I wanted the calls to stop I should change my number because they would not remove it. I told them I would contact my attorney for harassment and they said it wasn't harassment if they were calling a legitimate number. I just had to go into my cell settings with my carrier and block them. Definitely a scam.

This caller has been bothering me for too long. Tried to block the call and it still came through. It is someone trying to commit ID theft. How can he be stopped. Can't the police, phone company,FBI or someone stop him?
I'm so sick of him and his tricks.

I received a call from a Texas number a couple of days before the 909-474-2500 call that left a message saying that they had me listed as a contact for my ex-husband, who I haven't seen in over 14 years and that they were from the compliance office and that my ex has two outstanding violations in the state of Texas. They also said this was there last attempt to warn him and at the end they said "good luck" which was weird. Anyway now this call from 909-474-2500, when I picked up they didn't say anything........the whole thing is weird.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Yes, I too have received a call from this Ofc of LRG claiming to be contacting me regarding a returned item (issue) from/to my bank.  I have not written a check nor do I have an open checking account.  A reference number is left and I do know it's nothing more than a debt collector  and their many tricks to make it seem like it is an urgency to act promptly/ASAP!!!!!!!!  Wow.............really?????

Called from the 909 474 2500 number but left a 1 800 number in which the return call is to made.

Sorry, I couldn't find where I could edit my post. Also wanted to add that these guys seem to be deceptive in that the number they are displaying on id shows its from San Bernadina, CA and the callback number is from Texas.  I cannot confirm that they are from Texas, however I did find this.

Calling for someone that they think lives at my home, they have the wrong number or something. Looking for someone that I don't know and never heard of before demanding that that person or their counsel call them back at another number. They called from 909.474.2500 and they are asking in the message that they left for them to be contacted at the offices of LRG @ 800.374.6151, something about a returned item from the bank of the person they are trying to reach. And to reference a file number,  and saying that this is not a solicitation and that they expect this person to call them.

Reference this link, some others posted similar info at the link I have posted....looks like some scammers..... http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/8003746151
