Missed call from 909-650-9185. No message.
IF they call again I will answer and get the company info and post it here.
To "Sarah - 16 Mar 2009" - You don't need to be a car dealer for any brand in order to offer a warranty. Banks, Credit Unions, Insurance companies, ect offer these all the time. Many times it is cheaper then the dealers warranty. If you actually need a warranty keep this in mind. No need to get one through some random caller as this COULD be a scam, when you could just go to your Credit Union/Bank.

I got a call from 909-650-9185 and it said to press 1 if you want your number to be put out of the list... i did and said i had been removed. What could happen?

DON'T FALL FOR THIS TRAP!!!
I answered the call and got an automated message that said my car warranty was about to expire and it was their final attempt to contact me before closing the case. It told me to press "1" to speak with a representative, which I did. Then they asked for the make and model of my car, then my mileage.
At this point I questioned them...
"Wait, are you a Volkswagen representative?"
"No ma'am I am not."
"Then how could you possibly be holding a warranty to my car?"
"Well ma'am if you give me the mileage I can tell you how much of a great discount you'll get for renewing your warranty with us."
"So you're saying you're not affiliated with my car company or dealership at all? And you're trying to sell me a totally separate warranty?"
"Yes that is correct ma'am."
CLICK.
THIS IS NOT REAL! Your authorized dealership or actual car brand holds any warranty related to your car, unless you have knowingly purchased an outside warranty in the past. These are just people trying to get you to give out your credit card information and charge you a lot of money.

Received several calls from this number over the past week but they never left a message. This morning I called it back and it immediately played a recorded message about adding my number to their Do Not Call list, which I opted for. We'll see if it works, but it appears to be the only way to contact the company and stop the calls, since ignoring them obviously didn't work. Just thought I would pass it on.

Bill collectors will use cover identities to call a debtor in order to determine if they will answer their phone. One way to tell if the "Vehicle Warranty" caller is a debt collector is if you pick up the phone and no one is on the other end of the line. If a short time later, you receive a call from a debt collector, you can have a reasonable certainty that the prior call was a decoy from the debt collector to see if you were answering the phone. Even if the "Vehicle Warranty" caller leaves a message, you should not call them back. They may attempt to establish your identity and pass it on to the debt collector. Yes, this is illegal.

"Possible" remedy. Answer the call. Tell them to immediately remove "this number" from ALL of their data bases. I say this as "possible" because if they are a Canadian company calling from Canada, they may not be bound by the "Do Not Call" laws in the United States.
If you want to be brave and have extra minutes on your cell account, ask them to send you a list of "all possible repairs that are NOT covered by their warranty. This usually totally messes them up. Have them send it to General Delivery in your city, state if they agree to send one. You don't even have to pick it up at your PO if you don't have time. Just smile and remember you got them - they didn't get you.

I just received a call from 909-650-9185 on my cell phone, which I am on the "Do Not Call" list...Recorded message regarding extending my car warrenty. My car doesn't have a warranty it ran out years and years ago, if they want to warranty my car they would be in for a rude awaking, they would loose a ton of money.
I wish these people would get a life and just drop off the face of the earth. Who needs these recordings from these slimmy, low life, scum sucking a** holes, not me and I believe any body else does either. If someone does fall for there scam I feel sorry for them.
