Wells Fargo is 9096580922 - now calling to ensure I made my payment on the first of the month - has not looked at the computer system to show it is paid - how do you say harass

I just called them back and when i gave them my number and they said it was tied to someone else's address, i told them to stop calling then. I did however find out a good trick:
When they call and you see it on your Caller ID, answer it and immediately say; "To insure accuracy, this call may be recorded." then answer with whatever greting you want. They get spooked by that and will probably say something along the lines of "i have to disconnect this call" because they dont want to be recorded.

The one i talked to got real scared when i told her that i'm on the do not call list and since they were recording the call, it is now on record that i am asking them to stop calling. (something the DNC list asks when you file a complaint). She thought I was recording THEM! Meanwhile the do***ebag didnt have enough brains to realize it says on their system that the call may be recorded.

Try it and see if it works. At the very least it should lead to interesting conversation.

The caller ID says "Wells Fargo Ban" but if I try dialing the number, a recording says "this number is no longer in service." The caller hangs up when I answer. I get at least half a dozen calls from this number and 414-214-9355, which shows on the caller ID as "Wells Fargo HM." If I try returning calls from that number, my telephone display reads "Invalid number." If these calls are coming from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, someone has the wrong number. They are calling a business.

Good luck with that.  They have no problem tacking on interest charges, late payments, inspector fees but when it comes to helping me out they just want to gouge yuo to death.

I also have received call after call from at least 3 numbers and each time I have googled the number wells Fargo and nothing but complaints from others pops up on the computer. I agree I'm late on my house but I called them myself and let them know I will be making a payment within the week and this morning alone I have gotten 2 calls and its only 10 AM!!! They also keep sending ?inspectors" to my house that take pictures and hand me a letter from wells Fargo and the purpose is to "make sure the house is occupied" even though I talk to them every month and they know I'm living in my house!! On top of the embarrassment of having inspectors taking pictures of my house on Saturdays they charge me for each visit!! I'm trying to work with these people but this is seriously harassment and I'm losing my mind!

If you are a month behind,  Wells Fargo becomes a collection agency subject to the same laws as junk debt buyers and other debt collectors.
I too had a mortgage serviced by HomeEQ.  When I called to pay my mortgage with EQ, I got as recording saying call, and they listed alot of loan companies.  I had to guess which one bought my loan.  In the meantime late fees started piling up because I didn't know where to pay it.

Call Wells Fargo and listen to their message.  There is a disclamer that they are a collection agency attempting to collect a debt.  This make them subject to the Fair Debt Collection Act.
What you do to stop the phone calls is send them a cease and desist letter.  In the letter inform Wells Fargo that you do not want to receive any more phone calls and any further communication must be done by mail.
If you receive a phone call, or they just robo dial your number, from them after they receive the letter then you can sue them for $1000 per violation plus attorneys fees.
I am writing a C&D letter untill Wells Fargo plays nice.
Remember, Wells Fargo is the company that signed off on forclosures by simply checking the date on the paper work and not looking at the content.  They want to charge you late fees, ruin your credit and TAKE YOUR HOUSE AWAY FROM YOU.
And to think Wells Fargo was a reputable company 120 years ago when they ran stage coaches.  Riding shotgun today means gunning to take your house.

We should contact our attorney general in each of our states or get a class action suit going. They are idiots and think there above the law. My Wachovia loan was managed by Homeq Servicing for 12 years and these bozos got it two monthes ago. Doesnt that make them a third party and have to abide by the FDCPA? They are not the original lender!

They called me to tell me I hadn't paid my mortgage...to which I replied that I'd paid it three days ago...then I get an "oh" and they hang up...only to call again 30 minutes later...I think a harassment lawsuit may be coming their way if they keep this up.

Yep - It's Wells Fargo!  They are a horrible company!  As stated by others, I have been "working" with them to restructure a mortgage loan only to be told after TEN MONTHS (of sending & updated paperwork EVERY MONTH) that we have a VA (government backed) loan & they will do NOTHING to help us (except RAISE our mortgage amount every month) because they are GUARANTEED payment on the loan no matter if we default or not.  NICE WAY TO TREAT A VETERAN!!  They really make me sick!  Call 7 days a week - 8 - 10 times a day - all hours of the day and night - from all different phone numbers.  They are repulsive.  Oh, and then they tell us - "resubmit your paperwork, there are new programs available all the time" - yeah, because I want to go through ANOTHER 10 months of paperwork, cost and hassle just to be told "sorry, you're out of luck - WE'RE GOING TO GET PAID REGARDLESS"!  Worst company EVER!

They even called me on Memorial Day! I know my payment is late..they remind you every two hours from different phone numbers how could someone forget?! It's depressing without them harassing! If someone commits suicide will the insurance company pay off the loan? ( I think that's what they are pushing for )

Here is a way to avoid getting all these calls whether your at fault or not... you can now get back at them with a very simple APP...  '
I am not affiliated with this service, just use it and it has a free component which works just fine, or you can sign up for additional features...
once a creditor calls and leaves a voice mail, you can then create a specific ansewering message for them like " the person at this number is now dead please call 800-dial a prayer" or what ever you want...

go to :
www.youmail.com

YOU WILL LOVE THIS Service!!

Wells Fargo is THE WORST!!!  They sent me a letter telling me I qualify for "Confidential Budget & Debt Management Counseling" paid by Wells Fargo--valued up to $150!  When I called, it was their collections department.  I have been trying to modify my loan since last March.  After 3 months they denied me, then suggested I try again, since they had shredded all the documents I spent months putting together, telling me they now have "new government programs".  They are rude, nasty and unscrupulous!  I still have a credit score of 811 and have been a WF customer for over 30 years but they treat me like scum.

This is Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. We have been "working" with Wells Fargo for the past 5 months, only to have them withdraw the offer we have been working on closing.

The odd thing is, every time they call, when I answer, they usually just hang-up. It is very frustrating.

If it is wells fargo. They are ruthless.  They call even on sundays, from all kinds of numbers.  First I told them to talk to my lawyer and then they said ok.  Then they called the next day and said I had to fax permission for them to talk to my lawyer. Then they called later the same day to ask if I had faxedit yet.  Then they called the next day and said the lawyer has to call them, they will NOT talk to 3rd parties.   I have told them I work at home and they are not allowed to harrass me and to cease but they just keep calling and calling and calling.

When I got my very first call way back when and they anted to know if they could help me, I said your idea of helping me was to add 300 a month to the amount I was already having trouble paying for a year.  Their public relations is such a scam.  They are not interested in helping anybody.

If I let it go to answering, they just hang up.

It's definitely Wells Fargo Mortgage. Payment due on the 1st, no fines until the 15th, and they called me on the 5th. The funny thing is I paid it on the 4th. So I asked why were they calling me and the response was "Just a reminder that your mortgage was due on the 1st"...LOL

My best guess is Wells Fargo Home Mortgage - Collections Dept.
They start calling on the second day of the month, via auto dialer,
they also have as many as 8 other area code/numbers they call from,
trying to end-run those whose screen by caller #
