Just got our first call from 909-724-1122 here in Nova Scotia - did not answer - did not leave a voice message

My cell said the call is from California. did not pick up. no message.

Calls with no message and no one responding.

So I have gotten a call from this number as well as many other some of which are "telemarketers" but with most telemarketers you can call them back.  When you try and call this number back there is not even one ring before the hang up.  I know from calling myself at home that the first ring you hear on your end is likely going to a server or a satellite and the second ring is actually the first ring that the receiver (person called) hears.  This tells me that by calling this number it will not even connect to the server (in my case verizon).  I suspect that cell phone companies arrange for these numbers to call their customers at peak hours to take up 1min (rounded up from the 2 sec it takes most people to hang up on these very obvious "telemarketers".  If you call 2million people for 1 min then that is 2million minutes paid for that were not paid for otherwise.

Called me about 3am their time, hung up when the answering machine went off. No idea who they are.

This one tried my partner's number on 29 October. David in Kingsbury - is that in Middlesex? If so, they are obviously targeting our area.

Keep getting calls from this number

Just got one of these now, but from 951-724-1122 - seems to be the same lot, since apparently the 951 area code was split off from 909 recently (thanks Wikipedia!).

I saw it was a foreign number and let it go to voicemail and just caught the end of "... press 1 on your kepad now" so definitely an automated scammer.  Very annoying!

Called me today at 17:25 here in the United Kingdom!!  Must be widening their customer target...

I got a call from the company around 8:30am today... and I live in England - I would've thought they'd have the sense to remove non-US numbers!

I screen my calls, so when I saw the number I didn't bother picking up.

They just called my cell phone. I live in Ohio. Recording stated that I they were from 'card services' and I needed to call them about my account. I called the number back and got a fast busy signal.

I have not idea who these people are they keep calling.I am in they are from southern Cali.

Just got a phonecall from this number. I answered it and no one was there, tried calling it back and it hung up before even ringing! I searched the number.... it is in California. I live in Toronto, Canada. And I am on a DNC list.

Got a missed call with this number today on my CELL with no message - just looked it up on Google and found this site. Glad to know it was just a stupid telefarker.

Received a call from this number several minutes ago. I did not answer. I live in Columbus, OH.

I answered when they called, just to see who it was and get my number off their list. When I answered, I got a recorded that said the same thing as Andy said below (reduce interest rates, etc.). I hung up, but then I tried to call back just to see what they would say, and I kept getting a recording that said, "We're sorry. As a result of technical difficulties, we are unable to route your call." I could not actually get through. Scammers for sure. I just blocked that number on my phone.

I also got an automated call from 909-724-1122.  

I subscribe to the Do Not Call List but unfortunately there is a hole in that legislation. I am in Canada and the Do Not Call List is only for idiot telemarketers in this country. It does not extend to idiots call from another country (area code 909 is in California).  I tried to go the U.S. Do Not Call List but they wouldn't accept my phone number (because I am in Canada).

This is a big hole in the Do Not Call List legislation. The miserable phone abusers just call you from another country. What with VOIP, it doesn't really cost them anything to do that.

I would like to take a baseball bat to the idiots who abuse the telephone system like that, its just as bad as email spam.

This f****ng number keeps calling my phone. I added them to my blacklist built into my Blackberry... ;) That should take care of that.

It was a computer automated recording.  "Hi this is ???? from Cardholder services". I am not calling about a problem with your credit card."  At that point I hung up.  I thought there was a ban started on ROBO Calls.  Especially to cell phones!  I have no idea how they got my cell phone number.  I rarely give it to anyone.

Saw 909-724-1122 number on my phone. No message was left.

Call at 12:16pm Florida, on my CELLPHONE... Automated call to tell me that I was "eligible" to lower my interest rate to 6.5%. I hung up at that point. I have a smartphone, this number now goes straight to voicemail.

Michael asked if I paid off my credit cards or if I carried a balance.  I told him that I paid them off every month.  He then asked me for the balance on my credit cards, I replied I pay them off every month, just before he hung up.  Why can't someone stop these intrusive calls.

The call came while I was at work, I didn't recognize the number, didn't answer, and there was no message left. I do not give my cell number to anyone i do business with.

Automated call identifying themselves at Medical Benefits Association.  Pressing "2" to be removed from calling list has not worked at all.  Calls my place of business multiple times a day.
