Received text message regarding winning a $1,000 Best Buy contest and given a code to use on a specific website within 24 hours. Too old to believe in dreams come true....

Security company Cloudmark created a spam messaging reporting service that nation?s major wireless carriers agreed earlier this year to start using. Now, customers of AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and others can forward their text spam message to 7726. The mobile phone carrier will ask customers for the phone number that?s linked to the spam message so they and Cloudmark can start investigating.

Just got the same message, but its BESTBUYCONTEST.COM now. These people need to get real jobs. Stop scamming the hard working people. LAZY!!

texted me at 4:30am!!! how rude...telling me I had won 1000 gift card to best buy and go on line within 24 hours to claim it!!!

Got the message for a best buy win, which I didn't enter.  winning code is 7376.
Don't know how they got my number since I don't give it out to anyone but relatives.

I got the same middle-of-the-night text about winning the $1,000 Best Buy gift card. They said to go to BestBuyContest.com and gave me a code to input within 24 hours. I always google search odd claims and phone numbers and am very grateful to sites like this and everyone who posts about scams. Your mom is right, "if it's too good to be true, it probably isn't!"

Thank you 800notes.com for always being here for us to find out if others have also received the same scam messages.  I use your website everytime I get a message from a number that is not in my address book.  I too just received the same text that I was a winner and I immediately came to 800notes to check out it's legitimacy, and I will now register 909-837-7687 to the FCC after having read the other comments regarding this scam.

Just got a text at 9:45 pm stating I won. log onto bestbuycontest.com to claim $1000 gift card... Please make this stop!!!

Got a message on phone talking about "Go to BestBuy Contest.com and enter your winning code 8475 to claim your FREE $1,000.00 BESTBUY gift card within 24hrs.

Got the same text message on my cell phone early this a.m. Like the rest of the posters, I did not fill out anything at Best Buy. Must be a scam.

I got the text and checked out the website. You have to buy 12 other things before you actually get the gift card. It's not that you entered, but and the prize is real, and you just to buy12 over priced things that are ten times the amount of the gift card.

Just like ever one else before me I just got a message about this supposed 1K gift card for best buy. Figured it was bull s*** so I looked up on online and here I am lol

Text received today at noon from this number reads, " Your entry last month has WON!  Go to BestBuyContest.com and enter your winning code 8475 to claim your FREE $1000 BestBuy gift card within 24 hours."  

Of course I NEVER entered a Best Buy contest!!!!!

Just got this call saying I won $1000 from best buy.  Can you catch this person who is trying to rip off people?

What's the deal? They have been texting for almost a month and nobody is doing anything about it except complain here.
Call/email your phone company. Call BestBuy. Why? If they would sue you if you opened a store in town and called it BestBuy, so they might try to do something about this.

I received a text today from phone number 909-837-7687 stating "Your entry last month has WON!  Go to BestBuyContest. com and enter your winning code 6207 to claim your FREE $1000 BestBuy gift card within 24 hours."  I went online to do just that when I found dozens of sites from people that have been scammed by the same kind of text.  Not all of the reports came from the same number, though.  Thankfully, I checked the internet before trying to go to that site.  I do not  know what the consequences could have been for me if I had done just as the text told me to do.  My advice is to never open any text claiming you have won anything.  If you truly have won something from any source, they probably would not notify the winner by a text message.  Just be careful.  There are evil people in this world of ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a text from this number at 2:38 indicating "your entry last month Won!" Go to BestBuyContest.com to claim your $1000.00.  What a scam.  Never entered the contest.  Block all text and calls from this number.

had a msg on my cell phone from 909-837-7687 saying your entry last month has WON Go to bestbuy.com and enter your winning code **** to claim your FREE $1000 Bestbuy gift card within 24 hrs.  I don't shop at Bestbuy and I don't give out my cell phone # on the internet  or any place else.

The call was sent at 4:13 this morning from the above # the caller ID didn't give a name of who was calling.

Got a message from this number saying I had won a $1000 gift card from Best Buy, to visit BestBuyContest.com and input a code.  Pretty legit looking website but after reading that the same has happened to others I didn't fall for the scam.  Pretty nasty waking me up at 2:00am on my birthday with a scam like this...

I received a message from this number claiming my entry won and  I would receive a Best Buy gift card.  I didn't enter any contest So I knew it was a scam.  Didn't even bother to try to check out the website it gave me. bestbuycontest.com

Got a text message from 909*837*7687 stating I won $1,000 from Best Buy..... Why do people do this!

I received a text message (after midnight) like everyone else, from "BestBuy" etc...I knew it had to be a scam since I didnt put my name or phone number in a drawing. I have recently made a puchase at Best Buy, so I called them & spoke to a Mgr, explaining the text I received & told them if I get any more texts like this I would return my purchase and never walk into their store again.

Crazy people.

it was recommended and I agree we should all keep reporting these violations to fcc and donotcall registry.

I got that same text @7:49 AM -thank you very much on a Sunday morning. I guess they changed up the website as it says BestBuyRaffle.com and gave me a winning code. Of course I too have not shopped at best buy recently.
when I try to block this number on my verizon cell I CAN'T - error message says: Please check the format and try again; vzwpix.com not permitted.
so I've emailed verizon about that.
Needless to say I am not click on the link.
I also went to geektools.com to check the domain and there is no information except that the name servers are blocked due to spam.
