This is the same area code and exchange (909-842) that has been calling me repeatedly for the past year from somewhere in Ontario, California. Sometimes its fake auto warranty, fake satellite TV installation, "lower your interest rate" scam, and of course the famous India phone bank "free" $300 gas card scam ("All we need is your credit card number for shipping fees."). If I remember right, the phone service is owned by Digitcom, and the scammers use fake company names like "Alpha Services", MSL, "Omega group" and most recently "RDJ and Assoc". Irritating to say the least.

I got a call from them today. It was a "warranty services" scam. I only answered because I thought it might be someone from work. I have been receiving these calls for over a year now. About once every two weeks. The automated message is always the same. They tell you your auto warranty is going to expire and can be extended or something and that this is the last call you will receive. Right! It is a different number every time. I pressed "1" this time and asked for the company he represents and he said "warranty services". I pressed him and asked "warranty services for whom?" and demanded to speak to a manager. He hung up on me. I don't own a car and the last car I bought was in 1995. When I first started getting these calls I thought it was from my auto dealership. It is a total scam! I registered my number on the national do not call website. Hopefully that will end it.

I answered, they never replied, so i hung up. I think this is one of those auto warranty things (which are a scam). You answer and their phone system tries to patch the call to an available scammy. That's why you don't hear a reply. My guesses here. I get auto warranty calls all the time, and especially after I place an ad on Craigs List. I think this is where these scam artists get their numbers. My opinion and thoughts. Thanks

I just had a missed call from this same number today. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message, so I didn't call back!

Just answer and talk to them.
I spent 25 minutes talking weather, sports, politics and they got the hint. I dont think I will hear from them again!

Received a call from this number and had no idea who would be calling from 909 area code so I rejected the call. Then I find this site so apparently it was a good thing I rejected it - don't want to waste my minutes on garbage calls.

I had a call from this number. Since I didn't recognize it, I waited to see if they would leave a message. No message, no call-back. It's that simple. I will not allow my airtime to be wasted with b***s***. If I don't know the number, it doesn't get answered. I will listen to the message (if any) and call the person back if it's legitimate.

I got a missed call from this number.
I called back and got the recording saying to be taken off the calling list to press 1 so I did.
I got a tone then a another voice recording just saying "Thank You" then hung up.
| Howard 2009-03-06 16:41:44 Unknown |
I called it back and the recording says "thank you for calling us back. If you prefer to have your number removed from our preferred marketing list, please press '1'". No matter what you press it repeats once more then hangs up. No indication of who the company is or any recognition that you've elected to be off their list.
