I'm in Dana Point, CA.  I got the same call...no one answered, even when I paused for the automated machine to pick up.  They have probably called the house 7 times now.  Very frustrating.

909-842-9142 called my mobile phone and I could tell it was most likely a telemarketer because of the 909 area code and because the caller did not answer right away which is typical of calling via an automated system.

More numbers that they're using!

I got a call tonight and a call last night, both around 9:25 PM mountain time... Isn't it illegal to call after 9:00 anywhere in the US?

Well if it isn't that's what I told the call as I answered the phone... they didn't even respond, so I hung up. how annoying

I've been getting hit up by these guys and another number for months now, I've even told them I was convicted for identity theft years ago (even though I wasn't, they don't know that) and that I knew it was a scam and to try some other sap, they hang up but continue to call me back. I've resorted to funny accents like some others.

I was also told several times it made it past a few words about a gas card.

Got several calls from both those #s.  I was relieved to see others had too.  We like to use different accents when we answer.  They don't seem to like this much.  ;-)

These people have been calling me from different #'s for the last few months.  They started out being from a company call Gold Coast, now they are using united Benefits.  Here is the scam: They will call you to let you know you won the gas cards and they want you to confirm you have a visa or mC by giving them the 16 digit #.  they then tell you how great this prize is and then ask if you would confirm the Exp date and eventually get around to asking you for the 3 digit security code.  I played along with a call for about 30 min. to find out what they were all about.  They are crooks.  My Cousin is former FBI, he suggested not going to FBI, but just report it to your state Fraud Dept. if you get calls from them.

Picked up on the call this time...a man with foreign dialect says, hello and I asked them to take me off the list and he acted like he could not hear me.. I called the number back and got an answering machine and pressed "1" to have my name removed....this is the 2nd time in the past several months that I have called the number back..the answering machine says they call business listings..and the number "1" is the only option..no other options for other departmental listings....I tried all numbers and it is a repeat message....

Called my cell phone(for some reason the FCC released cell numbers early in 2008 according to my carrier).  I knew it was a telemarketer, so when they answered, I told them they reached the police department.  The best way to get deal with them if you are on the no call list, is to get as much info from them, do not let them talk except to answer your questions.  Ask them their name, what company they represent, if they have a no call list and have then send it to you. Get as much info as you can, then go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ and register a complaint.  The government should be fining these companies, and the more calls you receive, the more complaints you file, the greater the fines.  Not always true though.

There is a complaint form at the fcc website (fcc.gov) under "Contacting the FCC". The direct link is http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm . If your number is on the national do not call list and you continue to get these calls, get as much info as you can from the caller and report them to the FCC.

These people have even called me Sunday mornings.

I have received these calls for several days. I answer and they hang up. What can I do about it.

My husband hasn't answered it until they tried this last time. It started out with a brief pause of silence, then a male voice coming on saying 'hello ma'am, how are you today?'

I cut him off at the end and said 'If you're a telemarketer, take us off your list.' He responded with 'Did I say I was a telemarketer?'...I repeated myself, then hung up. Emailing this to the DNC group as well.

Received a phone call tonight 10/18/2008 at approx 9:57 CDT from the same number.  Told the person that they had called a business and to remove me from their list.  He then proceeded to explain I had won a $100 gas card.  I repeated they had called a business and then I then hung up.

3 minutes later, the same person called back and said that I had missunderstood them and I then repeated again that they had called a business and remove my number.  I also informed them that if they called again it was harrassment and I would call Ontario, CA PD.

Same as the other postings.... multiple calls to my mobile phone even though I called the number back to request that they stop.

The caller stated that he needed to varify my personal information and that I was chosen to receive a $300 gas card - my name came from a recent purchase at walmart (untrue).  He wanted to varify my information through a major credit card and needed the card #.  When I asked him were he was from he stated the company name was Gold Coast United Benefit located in Phoenix, AZ and his name was Fred McKenzie and his ID # was 11885.

I get two calls every day for about a week, then nothing for a little bit, then they get back at it.  Jerks.

got a call like this last night.  said i would not get charged for trial programs.  my bank called to report fraud.

Calls and hangs up every night.  I have not idea who since I have not talked to anyone.

same here.  Calls almost every single day for over a month now.  How can these things be stopped?

This number has called me at least 10 times.  I have spoken to someone in at least 5 of those calls.  I asked politely for them to remove me from the list as they called my cell phone number.  They said they would each time, then within hours I get a call back.  

I had read a story on www.NewsOrViews.com that said to send the number to donotcall@fcc.gov.  I will try that.

Just got two calls from them.  Responded in Spanish and replied no hablo englais

He apologized and said he was removing me from their phone list.  Of course, if I didn't speak English I wouldn't have understood that but hey, it was fun.

Same thing for me as what Christi experienced.  They've called about a dozen times and hangup on me when I ask them to remove me from the list.  They also tell me they received my number from "partnerships with gas stations all across california", which was obviously a lie.

They claimed their company name is CALLERS ADVANTAGE.

I received a call from this number.  The lady said I have been selected to receive a $100 gas card.  When I said "no thank you" and asked to be removed from their list she hung up on me.  This is the second day in a row that I havce received this call.  Yesterday it was a guy and he also hung up on me when I asked to be removed.

Called several times today, roughly about an hour or more apart.

Both of the following numbers were used.

The phone rings about 4 times or more, then stops.
