they called to offer me a lower interest rate loan. I got an automated message with a call back number but no name of the company....

unknown caller ID. I did not answer, caller did not leave message. Called back on another line, and got a "press 1 to OPT-OUT" automated message. I think my number somehow got on "one of those lists," as I received a similar unknown call/no message yesterday from 516-453-5674

This number repeatedly calls my son's phone. The recording asks me to press 1 to hear about lowering my interest rate on my credit card. The first time I called back and missed the option to press 1 and have the number removed. When someone picked up, I asked them to stop calling this number. They just hung up on me.
I returned the call, pressed 1 to have our number removed from their list, got the "thank you" message, and hung up.
I just did it AGAIN because obviously they do not actually remove numbers from the list.
This cell is also getting calls regarding home security systems from 616-855-0669. Again, I had to return the call to opt out, and it says to give it 24 hours. Thing is, I've done this with THIS number too. We also get calls from 401-558-0022. Those go back and forth between a staticky signal with someone speaking in Spanish and the home security thing.
Is there any way to complain officially about this? FCC, maybe?
I did just see that there is a Block/Reject option on my son's phone. That's awesome! Definitely going to use that.

The automated message told me to dial 1 to speak with someone. I pressed 1 and when the lady answered I asked her to remove my number from the call list, she responded "alrighty then" in a very rude tone and hung up on me.
I then called back and received an automated "dial 1 to be removed" message. When I pressed 1, I heard a recorded "thank you" and the call ended.

I agree with John (1/29/01): Flag it as 'Don't answer'.
Per another post elsewhere on this same number:
"it's a scam
they cannot do anything but steal your money - they will hang up if you try to tell to stop calling
BBB Warns Consumers of Robocalls Promising to Lower Their Credit Card Interest Rate
29 Jun 2009
Consumers across the U.S. and Canada are bombarded with phone calls promising to lower interest rates on their credit cards,. Not only are the calls violate U.S. and Canadian Do-Not-Call laws, but some companies behind the calls are ripping off consumers by charging large up-front fees to negotiate lower interest rates with credit card companies—something consumers can do on their own for free.
Robocalls generally begin with recorded messages that include statements like: 'This is our final attempt to reach you since you've not responded to our other calls to discuss your credit card debt.' The automated message invariably does not include the name of the company, but may claim to be with Card Services or Card Holder Services.
After the initial recorded message, consumers must dial another number to be connected to a live person, who in turn asks for the consumer’s credit card number. From there, the operator begins closing the sale, asking if the consumer is willing to pay – usually from $700 to $1,000 - to have their firm contact the credit card company and negotiate lower rates.
'The ‘negotiation’ undertaken by these companies can be as simple as calling the customer service number listed on the back of the consumer’s credit card and asking a customer service representative to lower the interest rate,' said Steve Cox, BBB spokesperson. 'Consumers are fully capable of talking to credit card companies on their own, for free, and getting similar results. Consumers simply don’t need to pay any company a thousand dollars to negotiate lower rates on their behalf.'
BBB has received numerous complaints about two Orlando-based companies, CSTR Solutions, Inc. and Genesis Capital Management, and one Tacoma-based company, Mutual Consolidated Savings. All are behind at least some of the robocalls and are promising to save people anywhere from $2,000 to $25,000 by negotiating lower interest rates with credit card companies.
According to BBB complaints, companies are also failing to uphold money-back guarantees and not refunding money in cases where they are unsuccessful in lowering rates."

got a call, didn't answer because I did not recognize the number. They did not leave a message. Seems these calls come in waves. I am also getting calls from 703-291-9039 every few days and I have been since mid-November. Very frustrating.

My 9 year old got a call from this number on his cell phone. I pressed one to inquire as to how they got they number and the woman said "who the hell gets a 9 year old a cell phone." I responded with what professional speaks that wayt to a customer? I have received numerous calls from them and each time I press one to speak to a representative I am faced with disrespectful and inappropriate behavior. This is a fraudulant company seeking credit card infomation. Do not give this company any information!!!

I am currently on the FCC website (www.fcc.gov) and on the left there is a link that says "Contact FCC". There is an option in there for you to file a complaint.
Maybe if enough people file they will take notice...?
Also, try adding your number to donotcall.gov.

I am tired of these folks calling me about my credit. They have no idea what my credit status is. Also I seem to be unable to block the number.
Don't know who they are!. Different names at different times.
