I work for a funeral home. My boss received a call from a person stating he was a funeral director and wanted $3650 for a funeral he was doing for someone here in Nanaimo BC Canada... I tracked down this phone number and here I am!!!
The east Indian accent is right on... and he gave a address of 117 Deepwood Drive, Burlington NC which is a private residence.
I phoned Burlington NC Funeral Homes and asked them if they heard of this Howell funeral home at this phone number..they said no funeral home by that name.
this man is on singlesnet.com !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Jennifer. I know happen to me too. you might wanted change you number if he keep calling. I don't think is much we can do about it. just be careful. Good Luck to you.
Wow That's crazy I had the same happen to me. I did a reverse phone look up and that number shows Wilmington,NC. This is very scary he also had my Social he call my job and has my address. I think we better of trying to change are Social if that possible. They can do a lots of damage to anyone. People be careful with the stuff you fill out on line.
DO NOT answer this number; the guy said his name was George (he didn't give me a last name). He said "the police are coming to your door to arrest you and you will go to jail." I told him straight up, "I know you're a fraudulent company; I'm not one of the terrified or stupid people you prey on, so stop calling me." He said "I will not stop calling." He then proceeded to call me 56 times in less than an hour, leaving me several sexual voicemails. This company is full of liars and sick perverts. I have a record of roughly thirty calls that I didn't answer, and roughly twenty-six that I answered telling him to "go away." And I also saved the voicemails he left me. Should I report him? Or would it be a waste of time
So, I retaliated--told him to stop calling me because I already knew he was a scam; he told me "no I will not stop calling you"... and he proceeded to leave me six voicemails that were vigerously sexual... should I report him to the authorities?
SCAM! Report it!
A coworker advised that he was on the receiving end of this scam today. I did some digging around and here's the link to report this scamming jerk to the FBI via ic3.gov (Internet Crime Complaint Center)
Here's more info about the scam from the FBI's web site:
I called these guys back and said "stop calling me; I know you're a scam"
And then I heard a click... it was priceless! :D
scared to death
I got a call from a man who said his name was adam benson when he left a message with my husband then when I called back he said his name was adam manson. He told m when I started getting calls back in novemember that I owed 1799 dollars on a defaulted payday loan. He stateed that he had a warrent for my arrest and that I was going to be arrested at home or on my job. I was forced into a payment arrangement that I could not afford and if I didn't pay I would be charged and would have to pay 7000 dollars for fies and bail. I started paying. I got to the last payment and this man did not take money on last payment date. I started getting calls again almost one month later from same man attempting to collet last payment. In another conversation with adam manson I was told that his company was no longer accepting payments from personal bank accounts and that I had to puschase a prepaid card. His explanation was that there are a lot of scams out now and that this form of payment would protect my money. With this form of payment this can not be traced. Today he called and spoke to my husband and told him he was adam benson and that he represented western sky. I have never had a loan with westernwith western sky..my husband told him he was a fraud and he hung up immediately. My husband called back to ask where he was from and and who he represented and would not say. Then he told my husband he would send the police on me. I NEED HELp!!!!! Who do I report this company to?? I am filing a police report now.
I got the same call about an hour ago. The caller said his name was Adam Benson and he was calling on behalf of "Westinski Investigations." He really freaked me out after knowing my social and telling me that I would be arrested and have to pay $9000 in fines. From what you folks are saying is that I should report him, if that is right can someone tell me how to go through with that? I really need help
I had the same thing happen to me. The guy with the indian accent called my job and hassassed them also. I told him i had never taken a loan online. He then asked if i had ever spent time behind bars. I told him i was recording the phonecall and he then hung up. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and he said his name was Steve Parker and that i was going to be arrested because they were sending the police to my job.
o.m.gosh this just happen to me too! Just now! This guys is giving out legal advice and isnt even an Attorney/Lawyer. I guess ill be next to report this man and his company to my local authorities. Ive worked for a law firm that collected on credit card debt, so i know what they can and can not say and that they may have access to skip tracing programs that can find anyone anywhere! So if this guy calls you, take his information down and report him! Don't let him scam you out of money or scare you! You call the number that he provided or better turn him over to your Attorney to contact.
some guy with a thick middle eastern accent called me this morning and told me the feds were going to show up at my home or place of business to arrest me and that I better have someone available to bail me out. He said I took a payday loan and had defaulted on it with Western Sky. I do have a loan with them, but I am current on the payments and it is not a payday loan. He wanted me to take care of this on the phone to avoid arrest and criminal charges of money laundering and theft. What scares me the most, is he had my social security number. I filed a police report with my local police department and then came home and called Western Sky directly. They show I am current and are reporting this call as fraud to the authorities.
