saying I have a fraud charge I need to clear up

If you get a call from someone named Lauren Masterson telling you, or someone in your family will be arrested next week on felony theft by deception charges for bad checks, do not believe them.  It is a scam.  "Lauren" will give you a phony case number, call relatives with the same last name and try to extort money from them, if she cannot get you to pay.  She is very convincing.  My daughter-in-law called the police to report it.
