Robo call recorded 9 July 2013 ("Free" Alarm system with small sign)
Caller ID: "Kansas City KS"
These people aren't even consistent with their instructions, one place it's "press 2 for Do Not Call" elsewhere it's "press 9 for do not call"...no matter what you press, a live person comes on and asks if you're interested in getting their "free" alarm.
"<female voice>The FBI reports there was a home break in every 15 seconds. Your local police recommend you protect your home. If you will allow us to place a small sign in your yard, we will install a new security system at absolutely no cost to you whatsoever. There is no cost for the system or the installation whatsoever. To hear more, press 1 now. To be placed on our Do Not Call list, press 9. <male voice> If you would like your phone number removed, press 2 now, otherwise press 1 to speak to a representative. Thank you." (repeated 2 more times)

Just got a call. Did not answer.

Let's face facts. These calls are not from who the caller ID says they are. Its called spoofing. They are not telemarketers. They are con artists/identity theft artists or something like that. Despite the fact that all phone calls are being logged, no one will ever stop these people. Just don't answer the phone if you don't know who's calling you--or just pick up and hang up real quick.

Id said mortgage, I did not answer and when my answering machine came on they hung up

No message left, but caller ID says "mortgage". It's not a number for my bank, so I didn't answer.

I called the DNC # 1-888-382-1222 and chose other optios. This let me enter my # and their # and hopefully the DNC can stop this. I also left a message that they were trying to sell home security systems. They call me daily, so this is worth a try.I meant options.

These are the JackWagons that call about installing a Home security system.
Funny the Caller Id said is Mortgage - and dialing the # back, well it is an out of Service #.
They say they are Security Promotions - Front ended telemarkerters for some company pawning their Overpriced services.
They want to know if You rent or own. They want you to own. So, try to say you rent, that will end the call, hopefully get you on their DNC list.

Called my cell, the M-Fs. I have 'do not disturb' set on my cell; if it's not on my contact list, it doesn't ring.

Just received a call from 913-279-0536 and the number appears to be owned by Bandwidth.com with a co-founder and CEO whose name is David Morken. They are a certified CLEC in 49 states. It appears that they might rent out their phone numbers or caller ID's.
Check out website www.telcodata.us to find out who owns the telephone number that calls you by using the area code and exchange selection on the left side of the screen. Once you determine the owner of the telephone number, they might have a web-site. They might have a way to stop these &**%@$# annoying calls.
Do what I do, if you don't know the number, don't answer it. If you want to have some fun, answer the call and see how long you can keep them on the phone. My personal best is 4 minutes before they hung up. Make up a name, tell then you just got the phone number. Scamming vs. scamming.

Strange. I received a phone call from this number and I have family living in that area. I called it back and the operator said the number was not a working number.
