This number called me today asking if we were looking for work in the Memphis area.  The caller idea cam up as Home Advisor.

Why has this so called good lead company changed there name to HOME ADVISOR? Wanted me to pay out $289.00 for them to direct me leads.

This idiot has called me once a week and left messages about needing many many homes cleaned.  I called him back once and told him to stop the scams and he continues.  Do Not Call list does nothing.  I've complained about so many scam calls and never heard a word, still getting the calls.

chances are, you have your resume online and they saw it. So like every other recruiting agency does, they call you to give you a job.

I got a call from this number today. They left a message leaving a name and asking about my business acting like they wouild be a customer. I hate when telemarketers call me and act like they would be a possible customer only to be led into a slaes pitch. I see from the other posts that this is Servicemagic. Stay away from them unless you like paying for leads you will have to compete with 4 or 5 other companies for and may not get or that are sent to you and are actually customers looking for a different service. Porr customer service there and all they care about is taking money from you. I HATE SERVICEMAGIC!

Servicemagic is terrible. they sell the same lead to several companies by just sending them the leads they get. then you get billed for the lead that you were competing with 3 or 4 other companies. Sometimes the leads do not even match what your business does then you have to fight to get your money back. Terrible terrible company. I would never use them again. they keep trying to get me back but non way.

My phone rang and it hung up before I could answer it.  This number came up and I looked it up on google.  I previously got a call from 'Service Magic' and thank God I checked them out before I signed up.  My brother runs a pool business and he signed up with them and he said he got 'leads' from year old callers regarding nothing to do with swimming pools and service magic kept running up his credit card and he got nothing out of any of the calls.  He had a hard time to get rid of them and had to cancel his credit card.  I would advise NO ONE do business with 'service magic' or whatever they have morphed into.  Nothing.  Nada.  You will be thousands of dollars ahead by not letting them attach to your business like leeches.  If you have a cell phone use the 'Mr Number' app to hang up on this number and anyone else from this firm who calls you.

Annette from the number keeps calling here, a small contracting company.  She will not tell me what she wants, only to speak to the owner about doing large jobs in our area.  I said, "oh your a lead company"  she said no, she was calling about jobs in our area.  She's called several times and she is always arrogent and rude.  I told her we were not interested several time, but she will not take the hint.

Service Magic is a joke...I have used them in the past, you pay for leads wether you get the job or not. Most of the leads if not all are fake. Beware of this company!!!!!

Got a call, stating they were from "Home Advisors", asking to speak to someone regarding switching out some panels (my company is commercial electrical contracting). When I told him we don't do things like residential, he asked 'if we do things like commercial or like industrial'. Can't tell if he was being a smart a**. I told him I'd pass him on to someone, but he hung up in the process. Other websites reported this guy saying he was looking for a painter and sounded high. That sounds about right.

i got a call from them but am leary of joining. do they flood you with leads to rack up your bill? is it hard to shut off incoming leads when your too busy? any imfo appreciated ty john from new york

I'm used Service Magic now for 2 years now and am very happy . I know not every lead is going to be great but I dont waste my time on the bad ones or stupid people. I just go after the good ones and make sure to contact them right away. It sounds like you thought your time would be better spent complaining then actually going out and getting business haha.

We constantly got charged for leads that were incorrect and service magic refused to credit them or change the pricing (case in point: customer puts in request for "water service". Service magic sends over the lead and we call the customer.  Turns out they need a repair, not a new service.  We call service magic because it was a 42.00 lead.  We charge an 85.00 service call.  Service magic refuses to credit the lead,  or even reduce it to an 8.00 lead, which is what a repair would normally be, because " the customer stated it was a request for water service".  We paid 42.00 for an 8.00 lead, It cost us 35.00 to send our guy out and another 12.00 in parts. We actually lost money on that job!!). Service magic will post a phone number for your company on google and yahoo search that is answered by them, pretending to be your answering service, so if someone searches your company, they get service magics number and not yours.

Don't trust them.  We quit using them and our business actually picked up,  Angies List is 100% better!

I have received several calls from SERVICE MAGIC over the past six months.What I have found is rude and unhelpfull phone selicitors,people unwilling to to mail legitamite information,people that will hangup on you if you ask them to many questions,people that will become confrontational if you are not swayed by their (schtick).I REALY COULD NOT BELIEVE THE ARROGANCE OF THIS PHONE SOLICITOR! I hope they read this stuff,Service Magic,hey and your never getting my e-mail so forget it.I would BE CAREFUL in doing buissness with people trying to sell you products (or names). Such entities are often never available to give you full and accurate buyers information.Hence if it feels like a dirty scam it probably is.Just my opinion. When he realized I wasn't going for his deal he tried to get informtion about other companies i know in my area I really thought wow this guy must really be desperate.  Boy,do i hate to be taken advantage of.Anyway at the end of the last conversation i hade with Service Magic, Just because he wouldn't (STOP BEING CONFRONTATIONAL) I told him i have unlimited minutes on my cell and that i had to go to the bathroom,that i would be right back, Previously in our conversation i requested the be removed from their calling list,we will see. I later returned to my phone to find no one on the line.I guess I won this round.

They do not sell fake leads. If a lead is a bad # you can get a credit. I have used them for 5 years and they have been a solid source of revenue for us.

This cmpany has called twice now, the first time I told them we was on the Do Not Call List, the second time they left a message saying that they had jobs needed done in our area (see we are a Plumbing and Heating outfit).  The company that is calling is Service Magic according to the message.

Got a call today 913-529-2777.  I used service magic once they billed me for fake leads.  If anyone ever hears of a class action lawsuite against service magic, I will join.

I received the same call from 913 529-2777 claiming he needs a reputable builder in my area.  Looks like they are canvassing for free leads.  

Don't bother calling them back.
