Just received a call from 914/219-1886 . A foreigner named Mark I could not understand him at all. He mentioned the word Korea and when I asked him to repeat what he just said, he mentioned doing IT work.  He did know one of our employees names and told me he was the president of the company and could he speak to him. I told him that he was not the president and i would have someone call him back..He also asked me to repeat his phone number to him so he knew i wrote it down. He start to mumble something and then automatically got disconnected. HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS !!!!!!!!!

I started to get calls from this number in July 2010 -- it is for a marketing company called Kutenda. They are running a big marketing campaign and harvesting names of prospective customers from LinkedIn.

I often get calls from Telemarketers, but since most people slam the phone down on them, I like to have fun and speak with them and get an understanding of who they are and what they are selling. And by doing so, I am likely misleading them into thinking I am interested in their product or service.

I got a call from this number and he is definitely from India and he calls himself Mark Anderson. Incidentally, he picked the name of an individual (Marc Andreessen) who popularized the Netscape browser in the early to mid 90s. So to be fair, I called "Mark" by the name of Rajiv just to be silly because he speaks with such a thick Indian accent.

This guy "Mark" is incredibly funny to me. When I talk to him, he says I talk to fast and that he has a hard time understanding me. It's silly because to *me* he talks too fast and is hard to understand. It's a bit ironic that we both find each others accents hard to understand. I didn't realize my Midwestern accent is so fast and hard for Indians to follow.

In any case, this company has some online marketing tools, which are $80/month. I eventually got transferred to a representative in Colorado who was very kind and polite and who invited me to view a webinar about their company.

So the company is legit, it's just that they hire this "Mark" guy to do their telemarketing and he is extremely difficult to understand. I did learn that "Kutenda" is a Hindi word and it means something along the lines of "making things easier". I believe they would be better off hiring a telemarketer who could "make things easier" with a more Americanized accent.

You guys gave the caller much more of your time than I would. Foreign accented dude said "My name is " (couldn't understand) and then he asked "How are you doing today?" which generally causes me to hang up immediately.  I said WHAT DO YOU WANT? His response "My director's name is Mark..." at which point I slammed the phone down on him. If someone can't explain to me in 10 seconds why they are calling them clearly this is something I have no interest in hearing.
