WOW!! Same here, this number calls everyday, I answer and no one is ever on he other end. Finally today I spoke into the dead air on the line asking, who is this that keeps calling everyday and never says a word? This guy replied "who calls every day & never says a word" ? Told him its sooo annoying, he apologized and said it would be 'taken care of'...we will see.

The caller phones everyday at my place of business. We have caller ID so I know not to answer. I have a llist of "bad" numbers tacked near my work station. These people are so annoying.

These people are not even professional charity people. Every time they call they want to speak to the owner. They claimed to be PC of NY, also claimed to be firefighters. Usually they refuse to leave message to the office phone-handler. Even you have requested them to take your company phone number out of the calling list as your boss demanded, they still keeping calling. It really has become a harassment!

got a third call from this one guy (Angelo Cariani) from Police Conference of NY 914-339-5515. I don't put any calls through to my boss without any information and he didn't give me any, so I'm reporting it online. I am calling the customer service given to me on the 914 #'s recording at 800-689-7120 and subscribing to the do-not call list.

We received frequent calls and since we are a company that works with client from all over the country we answerto all our calls. They insist to talk to my boss, but lucky him, never was in the office to talk to them, they are very rude and the only thing they will never get (even if they are fundraiser) is money.
Fed Up 2010-03-23 17:37:25 Unknown
Ditto. At first no one said anything, after saying hello for a few seconds, they asked if the "business owner" was in. First tip off, if they don't ask for me by name, I don't want to talk to them. I ended the call before finding out who they are. Now I know I won't bother answering next time.

Today someone called asking for the company name -- when i asked who was he? He got rude and hunged up . I agree with all the comments. My suggestion is: If you don,t know the number then don,t pickup your phone. We have to be aware of al sort of scams especially those Nigerian e-mails.

1-914-339-5515 read the caller ID ...kept asking for my husband...then asked if we are still at our present address....said it was a community matter...I replied what community you are calling from 914...then she said I don't want to speak with me...so I hung up....
irked 2010-02-24 16:14:42 Unknown
Said he was from the PC of NY. When I asked what that was, he said it was the Police Conference of New York and that they "lobby against drug offenders and child abusers" (his words). I BET!! (NOT!!)

States Warn Against Dubious Charities
Attorneys General warn citizens about professional solicitors
December 9, 2009
Consumers have to walk something of a tightrope this time of year. Holidays are always an expensive time, yet many want to support charities and worthwhile causes. But the last thing you want to do is have your contribution line the pockets of the solicitor.
In Oregon, Attorney General John Kroger unveiled a list of Oregon's 20 Worst Charities and offered tips to consumers on how to donate wisely.
"In the middle of a recession, it is more important than ever that generous Oregonians make charitable contributions to organizations that help veterans and others who are in need," Kroger said. "It is critical, however, that people donate wisely. Although many charities do great work, some are little more than scams with good-sounding names but that do little to actually help the people they claim to support."
State law requires charities to file periodic financial reports with the Oregon Department of Justice disclosing how much money the organization raised and how the funds were spent. The Department's Charitable Activities Section has identified 20 organizations (see attached) that spent more than 75 percent of the donations they collected on administrative costs and professional fundraising.
While guidelines issued by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) suggest that charitable organizations should spend at least 65 percent of their funds on charitable programs, every charity on the Department of Justice's list devoted less than 25 percent of their expenditures on charitable program activities.
One organization near the top of the list, Shiloh International Ministries, solicits donations to provide medical necessities and other support to needy children, veterans, and homeless persons. According to the most recent financial filings, the California-based nonprofit spent an average of $1,023,215 per year, 96.35 percent of which went to management and fundraising.
Kentucky concerns
Unscrupulous charity solicitations are not just confined to one area of the country. With double-digit unemployment rates in Kentucky, for example, more Kentucky families are in need of a helping hand this holiday season.
Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway says people who give to a charity should give wisely. Unfortunately, he says, there are unscrupulous or even fraudulent charities that prey on the generosity of Kentuckians.
"Every dollar donated to a reputable charity can make a difference in the life of someone who may be struggling to put food on the table or clothe a child," Conway said. "Irresponsible or fraudulent charities not only take advantage of the kindness of hard-working Kentuckians, they deprive those who need our help. Before you decide whether a charity deserves your donation, gather as much information as possible to make sure the charity is not a scam and that your donation reaches someone in need."
Both Kroger and Conway offer these tips for wise holiday giving:
? Donate to charities you know and trust.
? Be cautious of sound-alike charities and solicitors unable to answer questions.
? Always ask what percentage of your dollar goes to the cause.
? Don't be pressured into making a donation.
? Ask if the charity or solicitor is registered with the Office of the Attorney General.

just got a call from this number, and he claimed that he was from the police and his name was Eric... I wasn't sure if he was legit... so, I asked him to leave a message for the owner, he just said he would call back... I was suspicious and tried to google the number, and I stumbled upon this website...
glad to know who he was and had put a block from his number.

i think I know who these b*****ds are, I used to get calls from them on monthly bases when I owned my other business in Long Island
caller ID says NY PC and I think it's a short for New York Police Conference
they call asking for donations to pay fat bely lazy cups in exchange of a sticker, if pay them more, they give you a plastic badge or a card w/ your name on it (modern day extortion)
ton't get fooled, these guys are a bunch of retired (retarded) cups and not the organization is not a part of police dep at all
they should be put under investigation and file law suits for harassment

I Blocked This Caller 2010-02-02 18:22:37 Unknown
I did not answer this call because I did not recognize this phone number. I looked it up on the internet and saw all these complaints. These days pepole can change what display's on your caller ID.
When I called this number back it says that it is taking donations for NY Police, but it could be a scam. DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE! Especially if this person is as rude as people are complaining about.
On most new phones there is a "Block Caller" feature. If you have this feture, you should use it. I Did!

They call at all hours, everyday. The man we have spoken with has been VERY rude. I answered on my husband's phone once and asked if I could take a message. I was told no very abruptly, and they hung up. Today we asked to be taken off the list. The man said "Ok. FINE! Bye." Very very rude.
Sue 2009-12-08 23:44:44 Unknown
I was busy and did not answer since I did not recognize either the area code or the number.

Police charity of some sort. Refuses to stop calling after multiple requests to be added to their do-not-call list. Basically harassment at this point - they call every day at all hours.
