Called our DNC registered landline on 07/01/2014 @ 04:50 PM from White Plains, NY. No message was left. This call is from a telemarketer employed by the Breast Cancer Society. We've gotten calls from this telemarketer for several nefarious charities.

This is a family run SCAM operation that each member runs a different cancer charity stuffing their executive pockets with your donation. The story was aired on CNN hosted by Anderson Cooper. Google Breast Cancer Society CNN.

Rang four times, then left a message. A woman asked for my husband. Caller ID says Breast Cancer S. Number on TV caller id showed 845 area code. All of a sudden the area code on my phone says 914. Really!?!
I call it harrassment plain and simple.

This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  The caller ID number is usually a ?Spoof Number? ? A Fake!  Never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robocallers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.  The same goes if it prompts you to ?press a key? to ?opt out?  of their calling lists, or be transferred to someone, as this will only ?log? your number as a working one and make it ripe for future calls and to be sold to other scam companies as well.
The best option is simply to hang up, keep your own list of calling numbers with dates and times and report them to the FCC below.  There is space on their complaint form to list several calling dates and times of a repeat caller.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

The voice sounds human but is not a real human on the phone. It is a computer that responds to voice. This is deceptive indeed. I asked the person 3 questions that never were answered. Then I asked the computer to repeat my question back to me. Then voice they skipped twice and started the conversation again. It made me wonder how many other computer telemarketers have I takled to in the past.

Call came up 'BREAST CANCER S' which made me not want to pick up. No msg, but glad I didn't talk to anybody.

West Harrison's MAYOR should run these slimeballs out of town.

You wonder why telemarketers never quit? They make MILLIONS scamming fools who think "Breast Cancer Society" means "legit." And it does not.

Saw a radiologist Thursday. Got a call from 914-368-2554 Breast Cancer Society today. Didn't answer it. The radiologist and his medical records system have some explaining to do.

Called the number you posted. Woman was polite and took our number for removal.

I have been getting calls from this number for years.  I answered it the first time because caller ID showed it as Breast Cancer Survivors and I was curious.  But, it's just another scam, all they want is your credit card number.  Best not to answer it, they never leave a message on vm.

Today was the latest call this alleged charity.

The problem is that charities are exempt from the DNCR. I believe this has allowd people to setup bogus charities  in order to around the loophole.

Nonetheless, the fact is that bogus operations do not care about the law.

I don't ordinarily answer unsolicited calls, but since this was Sunday afternoon decided to voice my objection to being contacted on a weekend. Figure, it was a robot call . When I tried to respond, apparently no recognition of my statement ("hello, hello"), so the caller (robot) said "Sorry, thank you for your time" or something to that effect and hung up.
VERY ANNOYING. Being on the DO NOT CALL list doesn't amount to a hill of beans!

Phone rang from this number at 8:15 this morning!!!!!  No message left, of course.
  I keep a computer (Word) file on the bad phone calls I receive, which is helpful at a time like this, because I HAD received a call from them at an earlier time. But apparently I hadn't researched it then, because I don't have any comment about it--except that it had happened at 8:40 (!!!!) in the morning.
  I believe that even if a charitable organization is exempt from the toothless Do Not Call list, they must still abide by the rules of WHEN they may call, which is only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9.p.m.

THANK YOU for saying that!  Wise up people! These are SCAM calls. ALL of them! Quit sitting around wondering or feeling badly. Hundreds of calls every year from all numbers from all over the country. Spoofed ID's, spoofed numbers...not to mention ignorant foreigners trying to sell drugs. There are still people wondering or thinking they're legit??? Paaaleeeese  Don't answer. Just let the phone ring and ring in their ignorant criminal ears!

Caller asked for the "lady of the house". The lunatic telemarketers are at it again...Not a moment's peace at home...It should be illegal to harass people in their homes non-stop.

I went on YouTube to get the "the number you have called has been disconnected" recording and that is my greeting for my answering machine when anyone calls. It's cut down on 99% of the BS calls -this one came in just now and even though the disconnected message was playing I could hear some heavily accented female ask if "the lady of the house was in". She hungup when she realized the number was "disconnected" lol.

They have some nerve calling on a Sunday.  As a senior, I screen all calls, which means I never pick up but call friends, etc., who leave messages back.  

These calls are scams.  When I, a breast cancer survivor asked her how I can sign up for her services she hung up.  SO THERE!

Woman called this morning, asked for my husband by first name.  I asked who's calling, she stuttered.  Handed the phone to my husband and he gave her the pat answer "I do not accept telephone solicitations" and hung up.  end of story, no chitchat.

does not pay to answer, all that does is validate your ph # is good and will be sold to the next auto-dialer.

My digitone call blocker has been having an intimate affair with these cockroaches for a long time. They're so stupid they keep robo-calling a number they will NEVER reach.
