These people called my employer and I called them back.  The man I spoke to had a thick accent and said he worked for law firm.   He said I owed money but that the firm couldn't collect money.   Then he said if I paid today the whole matter would be dropped and I wouldn't have legal fees.  I said no and called the company to whom I supposedly owed money.  They said I had a zero balance and paid my loan off in Jan. '11.

The guy just left a message.  He said he was with a law firm and I owed money.  I did try to call back but the voice mail was full.  I am sure it is a scam.  What law firm does not have an answering machine?

I keep getting this harassing call telling me I have some legal action that I need to handle which is false.

I received multiple calls from these guys. They keep telling me I took out a loan for eight hundred dollars and that i will be arrested in 24 hours and that an officer would be putting me in "the box" and my bond would be $5000.00!! I've never taken out any loans nor committed anything illegal. I realized it was bogus but I wont be satisfied untill they are caught. For anyone else that reads this, they say they are the Law Associates of NewYork and that they represent a creditor. I could barely understand what the man was saying and when I repeated questions of who they were, where they were calling from and what they were calling about, they hung up. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION.

Have asked them repeatedly to quit calling.  The person they are trying to reach no longer works here.  This last time the man got very rude and sarcastic and said he was going to keep calling every day.

These ppl keep calling me as well.they call 3 times a day or more.they said they were going to send police out to my job that i owe $8000. i think they may also have my ss # cuz they tried to get me to confirm the last 4 #'s ..do not give the last 4 of ur ss #!!!!

I have received numerous phone calls from this number as per other numbers to but this number the persons name is officer chris carter a restitution officer from attornies and legal services claiming that they have tried to give me 50% off of the payday loan that i supposedly have not paid back and all they can do is now if i don't respond back to them is wish me good luck. They also say they know where i live and my address to my job. The other number that calls me about the same subject is 347-342-1761 says his name is officer John Hudson from UNLE also with the same lines says i'm gonna spend time in jail if i don't respond and he wishes me a blessed day. How do i get them to stop calling me?

ALL THE STORIES I READ IS EXACTALLY WHAT HAPPEN TO HIM , SO I CALLED AND TRIED TO TALK TO SOMEONE AND COULDN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING SO I TOLD HIM I WILL REPORT THIS! yes @ 7 fifteen pm. on may 20 th. that i took out o loan for $ 8000.00. on line. which i didnt. and they said they said they would have the the police come and aresset me. iam a disablled veterm. he said that doest make a difference. then i tried to get more info out of him.and he could not give me straight answers. please help. thank you and god bless

Received many calls from this outfit, finally decided to talk to them today.  Said I was being sued for 3 different fradulent checks (would not give me the names of the people I had supposedly written these checks to) trying to understand what he was saying (Jason) was impossible.  He started actually yelling at me, said I was trying to jerk him around.  He gave me his phone number I said I needed it for my Attorney.  Don't think I will heart from him again................

they call and threaten me that there is a law suit against me for taking out a payday loan online and that i stole the money and they would make an example out of me. they know all of my private information and they will send out an officer to serve me and if i don't pay them that i would spend up to 30 days in jail. they call from time to time to threaten me but i tell them its a scam and that i have contacted the department of homeland security and the FBI and that they need to stop calling me and i hang up on them. they stop calling for a little while and then start up again a few weeks later. Such bull and they won't get a dime from me.

Same here. In fact, when I said to stop calling my employer he said "I'll show you!" tried threatening etc.. This happens about every 3 months for several weeks until I tell them that I found their bogus number on google then they stopped.

I recieved a call today from a debt collector claiming to be a law firm. The guy I spoke to had a very thick accent and said his name was Jeremy.... He stated I had a pay day loan from some company which he couldnt even give me the name of or the amount of the loan. This guy had all my information....social, birth date, etc. and said if I didnt pay today that I could spend up to 30 days in jail and a law suit. This guy then put me on the line with his boss Chris Carter (same thickaccent..sounded like the same person) who said this call was to inform me I was being sued for fraud but if I would fax all my credit card information to them we could settle out of court. (OORC is what he called it)  I then stated I wanted them to fax me the alligations for proof before they would recieve any information of mine. He told me that would be illegal, which I responded that it was illegal for him to ask me for any information over the phone.  They tried calling back a few times but wouldnt leave a message.

My warning to anyone getting these calls is to ask them lots of questions and tell them they are being recorded for your proof admit to nothing!!!!

I kept getting these calls on my phone looking for me, and i just ignored them. Then they some how got my hubby's number and called him, looking for me. we'll they said that i owed money, that i failed to pay a loan back, which i never received, or applied for. they found out that i don't have a bank, and that now my father (who lives with us) reported me steeling the money.  my husband is now on the phone with a lawyer  and my dad with to police, and we're seeing them in court.

I've recieved calls from the same voice but diff. phone numbers.  Each time I am threatened with a suit or an arrest.  They are rerouting their number from a foeign country unknown to us.  I'm searching for their location and if anyone can get the truth as to where they are please post on the web,

I have received numerous calls from these people. The man that contacted me was Jason Brown and said I have a law suit pending from a quick cash payoff of 300. and need to call him about this matter. He even contacted my references. He was to call me back but at this time he has not. I did not catch the name of his company but think it came from. You could hardly understand what he was telling as his accent was very foreign and talked a mile a minute. told him to slow down and speak better english and after that he hung up on me. What a joke.

I just got the same call from this scam. It was someone named Mike Hudon saying he is with the Legal Associates of New York. I have no idea how they got my name or number but they called be at work & I work at a bank! I told them that I don't think they realized that they called me at my job which is a bank & that I am aware of their scam. I said that I have placed a freeze on my account and my credit report and that I wish them the best of luck if they try anything. I was on the phone for several minutes so I thanked them for staying on the phone long enough for us to track their location. He guy then says that he doesn't think there is any reason for us to talk any longer & hung up. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!!

my husband keep getting calls saying im being sued. they asked for me by name. have any of you been asked by name? they left  their number and told me to call back a Cynthia Williams. when i called back some guy with a fu**ked up accent said: we need your number so we can pull up your info. wtf..i hung up.

these people harrassed my hubby non stop i finally spoke with them said i was an "attorney" and they were harrassing my client they hung up quick but what scares me is they have all hubbys ssn and other info

I get calls from these people almost daily. they said I owe some money I will be sued in court they are threatening I hung up. the one guy his name was Colin Patrick. I pay my loans when I had them but this is rediculous I spoke to a company I had a loan with and told them and they said that they somehow get info about you and call saying you owe money and want you to pay them. I asked them for a specific company name I owed this money to and they told me they work for a site online where hundreds of companies are part of I told them to send me a bill and they never do, just ask for money in a bad way. it is getting bad out there people will report them for sure.

I too just received a phone call farm this number stating that there is a lawsuit filed against in the state of New York.  I've never lived in New York.  I just told them that they are a scam and I have reported them to the authorities and to stop calling me.  I then hung up.

I just got a call from this # too, and I was told the EXACT same thing that "AR" was told. Scam for sure, F&*K them!!!!!!!!
