There has to be a way to stop these calls other than not answering.  Thank God for Caller ID.

Must be a telemarketer, though I am supposedly on the "Do Not Call" List.  I don't answer, but it's still a nuisance.

fyi - When you call these jerks back, you have just made it okay for them to hound you forever.  All they need is that ONE call from you (even if they say it's to get off their call list).  Then they can claim you have a previous business relationship, because they now have a record of YOU calling THEM.  Duh.

They called me on 8/6 at 6:20 in the morning and my number had been registered for years. I reported them to the do not call registry. Please register your complaint

I got the end of a robocall message.  Called 8/5/2013 at 1:37 PM.

it's an idiot who has been calling like forever...claims to be collecting for cancer or heart research etc.
can't believe he continues after all this time, but then dementia and off meds days keeps him at it.  called us yesterday.
We just say hello and then put the phone down to tie his line up for awhile.

I also received a call from this number and did NOT answer it. When I checked it out, one of the 2 responses I received, only once, looked like writing in Russian and the other looked like it was from India. I haven't been able to replicate the information so  figure I got the information by mistake. Anyway, I was afraid someone could tap into my number if I am stupid enough to pick it up. I am so thankful for my caller ID.

The number listed above called BUT when I get calls like this;all I do is push the "answer" button for 1 second and then "disconnect".  that way they do noit know if it is a "live" one or a machine that answers and then disconnects.
I hope it plays with their heads.

I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER AND HAVE BEEN FOR WELL OVER A YEAR!  THIS IS AN ILLEGAL SCAM NUMBER WHICH IS ONE OF MANY THEY USE.  THIS ONE BEING 1-914-436-6232.  THEY ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER.  I CONTINUE TO REPORT THEM AS VIOLATIONS, HOWEVER, AS OFTEN AS THEY SWITCH NUMBERS NOTHING SEEMS TO STOP THESE ILLEGAL SCAM OPERATORS! MY CALLER ID ONLY SHOWS THE CALLER AS OUT OF AREA. THAT ALONE IDENTIFIES THEM AS ILLEGAL SCAM OPERATORS! I'LL CONTINUE TO SLAM THE PHONE DOWN WHEN THEY CALL AND REPORT THEM AS VIOLATING THE DO NOT CALL REGISTER FOR WHATEVER ITS WORTH.

Got this call. Said something about if I had fallen recently press 1. Our news channel as reported this as a scam

At 11;12 AM my phone system received a call from 914-436-6232 which the Caller ID received as NAME UNKNOWN. Since we were not home, we did not answer. No message was left by the caller.

Unfortunately, AT&T has no way available to its customers to block 'Out of State' anonymous calls. We constantly receive 'Robo Calls' even though we have been on the National Do Not Call List since its inception, and have renewed its coverage. Florida just started a free Do Not Call List, and it is illegal for almost everybody to violate the 'Robo Call' calls. Politicians, chariities and a few others are permitted to use them. Additionally, anyone that you have previously done business with can legally call you with a 'Robo Call', even though you have not dealt with them in years.

I'm so sick of these morons who just keep calling, interrupting my life. There is no way in hell I would do business with them so they need to stop with the calls or the Atty. General of my state will get a complaint for violating the Do not call list. Fools!

What is the point of Do Not Call Registry, I feel the calls have become more numerous than before I signed up. Ridiculous, all hours of the day into the evening, no message.

I just got a call from this number I didn't answer it left it for the answering machine to pick it up and they didn't leave any message just a dial tone

When I see these numbers, I just pick up the receiver and hang it up.  Stops the ringing.  Who cares if there is someone on the other end.

After I was on the Do Not Call list, I received more telemarketing calls than before. Someone suggested to me that the Do Not Call list is being sold to telemarketers. That doesn't make sense to me. Anyone who signed on to the list is unlikely to be stupid enough to encourage telemarketers by buying their products or turning over personal information.
Wonder why the service providers can't put some type of block on their service to prevent telemarketers from getting through. What would be great is, if the providers could boomerang, or reroute the calls, back to the telemarketers. Let them aggravate themselves.

If you contact these scumbags and ask to have your number removed they know it is a valid number and SELL IT to other scam telemarketers. You will now see a very unwanted increase in these scam calls. It is best to just ignore these calls and NEVER let them know your phone number is valid by responding in any way.

As a matter of habit we do not answer any call that we cannot
recognize the number.    
If it's legitimate they will leave a message with their name and a
call back number.    That never happens.
