I had a call from 1-914-343-1704 and John Cruise told me that there are three legal allegation charges against my name and I better pay for that.
When I asked what are the charges, he could not tell me that and it was so noisy that I could not hear his voice. I asked him to call me back from a quiet place and he never did.
SCAM!!!!

i got a call saying that i was going to be arrested in 30 mins. He refused to tell me what it was for. I hung up on them.

Fraud call came into my job from 914-512-5705.  told them I was reporting them to the US TFC and I hung up.

I get these calls continuously.  There must be something we can do to stop them.  In all reality, they are committing the crime of impersonating an officer.

received a call from 9145125705 stating i owed 400.00. states i received this from cash advance/his name was allen jones....kept talking over me & stated i need to go to walmart & buy a green card to send the money. asked if i could pay w/my debit card & he says no that not allowed. I asked for written legal documentation before i paid & he said he could send that to me only after i sent money & if wasnt legal they would send my money back......He also hesistated alot & was very hard to understand. Stated if I didnt pay I would have to pay court costs & a bunch of other fines.....

These people are crazy. They will also try and call u @ work. DONT SEND MONEY & DONT LET THEM SCARE YOU

I just received a call from this number and told him to contact my lawyer.  I decided to call back and ask him to send me some information in writing and he told me to have the lawyer call him and when I told him my lawyer said to send something in writting, he continued to ask for him to call.  I told him  I was going to report him number to the police and he told me to do what I need to do.  So that's what I going to do, file a police report for harrassment.

I have  received phone calls from this group -- heavily accented hard to understand.  They are now  under a different phone number than what has been posted.   They said - as stated above, investigative unit.  I owe money on a loan.  The SS number they provided was not correct, Stupid me, I sent a 100 non traceable money prepaid card for intent on paying the bill... this was their instruction. To go get a prepaid card and load it then send the number to them.   I then would have to pay the rest in a blue express money gram.  Needless to say, I talked to my daughter - who said Mom you have been scammed!   They gave me an email address to send the money gram receipt number to. I did not do that.  I sent an email demanding the information in writing with the loan number, the amount owed, who it is owed to, date, verification of SS on record.  I also told them I would not answer one more phone call and to send all the information in writing before I send another dime.  Company is CIS.   email is BCI @lawyer. com

don't pay them nothing. they called me and I paid it off a year ago. So where I paid it off I called them and they said don't tell them nothing.And just say your turning them in .They say I owe them interest. But they are wrong. If you pay it all or a settlement with some one else it is paid off in full. If you owe them money send it to that person.

I am receiving phone calls from this number on my cell and at my wrk to the point that 180 calls came from them in 1-24 hour period. They refuse to give any info out re: the loan... they threaten to have charges of interstate check fraud brought against me if I do not either given then my credit card info. or send them money via Western Union or Money Gram. I have forwarded this info to the Attorney General's Office of North Carolina and the local PD and the police at my work.

DO NOT ANSWER!! This is a scam. I took out a internet payday loan. They hacked the info, called me at work stating they were collection the debt, threatened to have me arrested. So I ran to Walmart, Moneygramed the money to them. I came home feeling suspisious and googled the number. Please beware and do not make my mistake.

recd a call from this number today at work. It was the famous John Smith. Should of been a red flag. He read me a legal document and threatened to have me arrested at my job is I did not pay 280.00 by 5 PM today. So what did I do, scared as heck ran to Walmart and paid by MoneyGram. Things didnt make since so an hour to late came home and Googled the number. Flew back to Walmart who called MoneyGram. MoneyGram states the company is legit, LMAO. and gave me another number to call them. That number is 647-892-6416. That number rings but no person or even voicemail. We got about 20 calls today and he said we owed $352 for a loan but we didnt have a checking account that matched the date he provided. He said his name was Eatenhunt and they are slick!!
They had my Bank account number and my social number! Beware if they call you AND DO NOT VERIFY OR GIVE THEM INFO!! IT IS A SCAM!!!

I also got the call and when I asked for the information to be mailed, "john smith's supervisor, and additional information he fumbled with his words then told me God bless and hung up.

THIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.

I also received a call today from a man with a heavy acent saying that he was from the dept of investagation and that his name was officer Eden.

I received a call today from a officer Eden and he said he could not disclose any information over the phone and that it would be in my best intrest to call him back as soon as posible and that he was from the invetagation dept.  Im soo glad that I had my son goggle the number and that people like you shared your stories and let people like me know that scums like this exist. thank you.

I too have had several meesages from this number and others and at work it comes in as a 0000 number. I've had John Smith, William Jones, Steve Brown and today Tony Parker. I asked if he was the basketball star and he replied he doesn't know anything thing about basketball. All these men all have a foreign thick accent (Indian?). I've been getting theses calls since 2010 always ignoring them today I finally spoke with them and tried in vain to listen to waht he was saying and yes he wanted me to settle this matter out of court by paying 395.00 dollars or go to court where I will have to pay back a loan I supposedly defaulted on (no) plus court costs. They will send people to my job and have me arrested. I Told him to send all legal paperwork to my legal department at my job (I work for the government) and they will advise me how to proceed with this matter if it is truely a criminal case (NOT!). He refused, so before I hung up I told him again to send it to the legal department and I said good bye to him and he told me well then I can't help you and you and your family will have hell to pay and proceeded to tell me to F--- Off! Wow this is an OFc Tony Parker of some type of court and he told me that! Yeah, total SCAM!!!!

THANK god I am not the only one - this creep officer john smith with the thickest indian accent calls from 914-512-5705 all hours over and over again leaving messages telling me I better prayer to God that I call him; I knew it was a scam because when I asked him to send me something in writting he hung up on me.

I received a call from Michael Jones leaving this number as a callback number.  He had a thick Indian accent and told me he was calling from the Department of Investigation.  He said he was calling about a serious complaint against my "social security number".  He said it was about an unpaid payday loan.  I have received other such calls and I don't have any unpaid payday loans.  I told him I knew this was a scam and that I was not going to pay him anything.  I hung up on him but he called back twice at my work.  I hung up on him again.  But he keeps calling back.

I also received a call from this number today.  He claimed is was from the "Department of Law and Investigation"-of which he could not tell me where it was from.   A man by the name of P.Williams called about 10 times within an hour until I finally answered. He had a very thick accent and  he claimed I owed over $500 of a loan and if I didn't pay it over the phone, I would be sent to court and have to go to jail.  It's a scam- I called my loan company and they advised me not to give out any information to them.  He couldn't provide where they where located, or any information. Don't do it!!!!

This is from the "Investigation Department" (they do not tell me where) and it was an Officer John Smith, with a heavy indian accent.  I've dealt with these people before and they are a scam.  I decided have a bit of fun.  First off, I had them call my cellphone which has a "record phone calls" app so I could record the phone call.  Officer Smith wanted to give me verbal information and I said, I do not accept verbal information on this, only written.  He tried to scare me with the line "this is past that stage and we cannot provide written documentation".  I then reminded him that I knew my rights with the Fair Debt Collections Act and yes, they had to provide me with written documentation.  At which point, he hung up.  Do not give out any payment information to these people.  If they are valid, they will provide written documentation as well as a physical address where you can send a money order payment instead of providing a debit card over the phone.
