I'm selling a pickup and he wants me to do the same.  Problem--I'm a cop and see this kind of scam alot.  It starts out sounding a little too easy.  If he is having it shipped, why do I need to contact his carrier?

This guy needs to slow his roll. Im selling a set of tires. He emailed about buying a car & the whole money bit. If your going to rip some one off you should at least know what you are talking about. This 914-595-4296 number obviously isn't fooling anybody. Some criminals are to smart for their own good.

I received a first on two vehicles I had listed. The wording of both e-mails were almost identical which arroused my curosity. The only difference was the two different names on the e-mail account. John Paul and Smith Williams. I sent back a short note giving a contact phone number for the vehicles to be seen. I received back an e-mail almost exactly worded as the one received by Railshot on 3/30/08 which is listed here. Suspicions were further raised and I tried the phone number in Google and found this site. Thanks for letting us post these and expose the scam.

Below is an e-mail I received from this person. I contacted my local police station and they sent an officer out. The officer said there is nothing they can do and advised me to delete the e-mail. It does not sit with me well knowing this guy is out there scamming people and it makes me wonder what other scams he trying to do!

Same thing happend to me.  I have an ad on Craigslist for a car I am selling.  Used the name Michael Smith.  Yeah, how American.  He thinks he can fool you into thinking he is a nice man just wanting to buy a car.  He is a foriegn scammer.  I let him know just how I feel. He left a phone number to throw us off, 914-595-4296.
