More investigation shows that this number appears to originate from a voip service tied to the ALLEGIANCE TELECOM, INC. - NY which when searched and linkked is then tied to http://www.xo.com/ a company called XO Communications. This company has a Terms of service contract that would appear to prohibit the use which this number appears to be putting the service to. Here is the Abuse hotline number for XO communications. Received a call from the number in question. The person asked to speak with someone here by name. Not hard though considering we are publicly listed in two separate business listings. I told them the person was not available and they claimed that they were "I am calling to follow up on some information with 'John Doe'". I Told them he was not available just now and I would let them know they had called, the person replied that they "I will call back latter" fine I will tell him to expect you to call, who is calling please? Surprise I got an answer they claimed the name was "Charlie Buttler" a name I had never heard before. Now since I keep my laptop near phone and look up every number that comes with no caller ID information I saw complaints attached to this number. So after this mention here I plan to call the phone provider and complain and then also place a complaint with the DNC national listing. I am not very confident in anything being done about the issue seems that these people have free rein to do as they wish.

Just numbers or just letters are a spoof box something I think should be made illegal you should only be able to not display (thus be blocked) or display your info, you should not be able to legally alter your information.

Received a call today at our business, lots of back ground noise, clear tip off for sales call, heavy NY accent, male, wanted to speak to the person who handled the cleaning supplies, I asked why, and he said he wanted to know who we used and they might have some products available. I told them we use Sam's and shop locally, and was not interested. He then went off on something totally unrelated asking about some information mix up they had, that they had us down as an "A Oil and Gas Drilling company right?" to which I'm thinking....what does that have to do with cleaning supplies? and a very cleaver way to get to someone important in the organization if you were to be transferred to the person who handled the cleaning supplies and then say to that person  "Oh sorry I was transferred to the wrong person could you transfer my call to the person who handles such and such or 'insert name of boss' if they have it". Strange....seems like some kind of data mining scheme (they aren't really calling for what they are calling about...I'll let those with imagination imagine). I wouldn't answer these calls or just pick up and hang up if I could but my manager would probably be irritated. I'd definitely recommend other callers not to pick up 'unknown' numbers.

Called my number, asked for my husband, refused to leave message.

Got calls today and yesterday at my office. Caller had my name, and said he was calling from "Noble Supplies." He said they had received an inquiry card from me for some of their products, which included weed killer and graffiti eraser. I told him I did not send in such a card. He said "Thank you" and hung up.

Caller does not identify himself or company, but asks for my boss by name.  I will not put the call through without knowing particulars, and I offer to assist or take a message, but caller says, "I'll call back."  Sure.
I get paid to answer calls, so I'll do it, and likely answer the next time he calls, but if he gets a commission  for making a sales pitch to my boss, his check will be short this week.

A man asked for my boss by name.  Since the guy, who mumbled by the way, did not identify himself or his company, I would not put his call through, but offered to take a message or assist.  He mumbled, "I'll just call back."  No "thank you" from him, of course, but no matter how many times he calls back, he'll never speak to my boss if I can help it.

They called my cell the last couple of days, I answer and they hang up... Idiots!

Just called this morning at 6:50am!  Calls and just hangs up.

Tired of getting calls from this number  they just hang up on you. How do I get them reported?

Very Wierd

This number calls our firehouse just about EVERY day and asks for the Chief.  When you say that he's unavailable they just hang up.  Today I asked who they were and they got quite vulgar and then hung up again.   We're on to them now, I have posted the number by every phone and will have some fun in return!

Just got a call from this number and only long silence.

Call came in I answered and they hung up.

Call came through at work this morning.  No one on the line and then they disconnected.

Got a cll I did not answer, they did not leave message.

Why doesn't the phone company shut these people's phone off with all these complaints.  I am tired of these people calling my place of work.

A man just called from this number and asked for me personally at my place of business.  Would not tell receptionist what it was regarding and got RUDE.  He asked "she still works there doesn't she?"  I hope it isn't some sort of identity theft scam.

We have received calls from this place several times asking for our former chief. I have informed him that the former chief is no longer with us and his reply was "I guess the new chief has been there for over a year then." No kidding? We just went through this a few months ago. He asked to speak to the Chief and I told him he was on a conference call and I could give him his voicemail and he said he would "call back later." Not a very pleasant person.

Called twice today. Left no message the first time, the second time ask for the Fire Chief by name and when I said he was unavailable and would take a message. He said no and hung up. Sorry to say but it will be my voice everytime you call and I will say the same thing to over and over again.

Received also several calls from 914-733-2195 and after the intro, they hang up.  What happened to Good Old Phone ETIQUETTE.  Oh, I know, long gone since certain times.  
But this company, individual or whom ever it is, does need some etiquette instilled into them, like a lot of others.  
Please, if you have nothing to ask of us, then stop tying up our lines for a real emergency.
I guess the phone company will be researching this one also.

Just called my office and asked for my boss. I asked who was calling and she refused to give me her name. I asked her 3 times and told her if she doesn't tell me who she is he won't talk to her. She said "That's fine, I'll hold" so I hung up on her. So irritating! Lots of noise in the background.

Received several calls this morning from this RUDE person.  Also asked for the Fire Chief and when I told him he was in a meeting he hung up on me.  By the way, this was his 3rd call to my office today!

AFD....same thing happened here.   As a City, we should have some legal recourse against these type calls, as I get them all the time and I'm sure you do too.    So dang aggravating.

Called, asked for "fire chief" who wasn't in, I asked if he wanted to leave a message and I got a dial tone...Rude MF'r! Don't these people realize what "caller ID" is?

Received a call at my place of work, asking for purchasing dept (we don't have a purchasing dept)- rude rude rude  and lots of noise in the background

Just got a call at work.  Answered the phone, could hear what sounded like a TV in the background, could hear "it" breathing, then they hung up.

Not a clue as to who they are.

They called and asked for my husband. I said he's not here and asked who was calling and they hung up on me. Tried calling back and got a voicemail that sounded like a name of Yur, go figure, and the mailbox was full of course.
